  1. Thanks for repeating what I said right above you jackass
  2. Bleed the clutch (but it proabably isn't that). Adjust the master cylinder rod out to allow for for disengagement. It is commmon to need to readjust it once a new clutch is broken in (especially some aftermarket ones). Make sure you leave enough freeplay at the top of the pedal though.
  3. It has not gone 176mph. Its fastest trap is 172.xx
  4. Do you have a way to log (or at least monitor) fuel pressure on your car? What kind of fuel pump do you have? Running the injectors at static like you are is just asking for a major failure. It appears in the log like your entire fuel system may just be overworked. If you aren't currently seeing FP then I would go out and buy a cheap mechanical gauge and CAREFULLY T a line up by the rail and run it to the cockpit. Do a pull and have a buddy watch the gauge to see if the pressure is not dropping off in the upper RPMs. You do have some sort of rising rate FPR on the car right?
  5. The sensors go dead lean when they start to fail. (Better than reading the opposite). They are only $50-$60. High heat will also kill the sensors fast too. Where is yours placed at?
  6. I was being partially sarcastic but the fastest DSMs out there are shifting the cars at over 11k in some gears. Realisticly speaking though, the cars can shift well at 9-9500 no problem with the right tranny work. The guy that posted the comment about DSMs only coming in 5 speeds was comapring them to EVOs (I think) where he meant that EVO MRs come in a 6 speed by comparison. The 6 speed MRs suck at a dragstrip however.
  7. Choosing a DSM as a "roll racing car" is not the best choice out there.
  8. +1 NTR doesn't deserve shit.
  9. The reliability problems associated with DSMs certainly do not apply to the longblock. They have their issues like all cars but the engine is not the shortcoming.
  10. I may be biased because I own one but it doesn't change the facts of what the engine's are known to do. I do not have any experience with the Ford engine but am only stating the facts about what I am familiar with. People can take it for whatever it is worth.
  11. Stock 6 bolt 4G63 longblocks are capable of supporting 500whp without any issues if attention is paid to detail.
  12. Check that. 9.43@157mph last night in more testing.
  13. Yeah. It's a dynoqueen that's already went 9.60 at 153 in shakedown passes
  14. The place is a complete joke. Phil has some pretty large nads for even trying to take his tube frame car down that stupid track. The prep was OK when he was literally the very first car down the track but it was shit about 20 minutes later. I didn't even see them reprep the damn thing once. I will never race my car there and will always travel 2 hours instead to NRP.
  15. I think they said this past week that Head's budget is roughly 1/5th that of most teams in funny car.
  16. I understand your point completely but it still isn't really good enough for me. My response would be that they should get more than 1 person who can know 2 rulebooks vs 1. The class rules are obviously structured for the sport compacts differently because they are a different car than a 72 Nova. So if I'm Trapping 145mph with no chute on and my NHRA rulebook says my type of cardoesn't need one til 150mph then I"m going to raise holy hell if an official tries to kick me out. However, I do realize that NHRA or not, the indiviual tracks can make their own rules and enforce them however they want. It is just an illustration of why NTR has become what it is and many of us will drive 2 hours out of town to race instead.
  17. That would be pretty stupid if true. You are supposed to build a car to the performance and safety standards set for that class. Whether you are running that classed car at a "sport compact event" vs a test and tune should be irrelevent if it is an NHRA track. So how is a sport compact supposed to do any testing at an NHRA track? There should be one set of rules that applies to each car as to how it fits into it's individual class. The whole idea of "general" rules superceeding class rules is really ridculous.
  18. I just went through my entire Sport Compact 2007 rulebook and it is mentioned nowhere about anything being different than 150mph. It also isn't listed in any of the 2007 updates either. So again, perhaps it is in the main book (which I only have a 2006 version) but it isn't in my current Sport Compact. That can also be seen online at: http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007/rules/GenRegs2007.pdf I've been to NHRA sanctioned sport compact races as well as NOPI races at NHRA tracks. There were multiple sportsman cars running in the 140s with no chutes so I'm not sure what to say?
  19. Maybe it isn't applicable to the sport compacts then because it definitely isn't in our rulebook.
  20. Not true. The chute is not required until 150mph.
  21. What did you trap? Oh wait, this is NTR. The trap speed probably didn't appear on the board or time slip
  22. You don't need anything more than that if you only went 10.7? You don't need a full cage unless you go 9.99 or 135mph. What was their reason again?
  23. These are the injectors out of my race car. I have never had any issues with them to speak of and they work fine. They were cleaned/inspected by PTE this past winter and they only have 2 track events on them. I think I have a brand new set of O rings that you can have as well. $200 shipped
  24. In my experience, NTR has ALWAYS checked for a cut off switch on my car (or my friend's DSMs) when they have seen no battery in the engine compartment.
