  1. When they came back from battling in WWII, they where regarded as heros. A liberating force that cured the world of a horrible organizer of Genocide, Heros. When they came back from Vietnam, they where spit on and called baby killers. No honor, no glory, no support from those that had sent them. When they come back from Iraq, how will they be treated? This is not a political question as to whether or not we should be there, just a question of how you think our brave men and women will be treated. I personally think they are all heros, each of them. Their families have sacrificed greatly and should see that we regard our military as a great group of men and women who hear the call and react. Thanks to all of our troops, hopefully the upcoming elections do not spur larger organized violent conflicts.
  2. I have arcade roms I run on Mac Mame. 720 rules "SKATE OR DIE!"
  3. Make sure it isn't a backward thread or something stupid. If not it is probably heat siezed in. Go buy flame retardant liquid wrench (don't remember the can color). Soak the bolt three or four times with an hour or so between soaks, then a little heat and some wrenching should get it. Vice grips on the hex should add some leverage.
  4. I dig drag racing in all forms. I really love HP any way you can get it, as shown in photo below. I think that NOPI is a good thing, it reminds me of how drag racing started. It is good for the sport, but I don't know if it is getting enough spectator response.
  5. I had the same problem when I had a whole house humidifier. You just have too much humidity in your house for the amount of thermal xfer you are getting out of your windows. If it where less cold, or less humid you would be fine, right?
  6. I just got back from Vegas, we had 3 days of rain.

  9. I get the over qualified thing, it doesn't mean over qualified. It means they want to pay less for the person they want. Every employer wants the guy (or gal) that can really bring something to the organization. They also want this person for the least amount of money possible. I have found that once you reach a certain salary level they are happy to interview you but would prefer someone "less qualified" or in other words "less expensive".
  10. Pyramid Schemes and Multilevels are completely different. In a Pyramid Scheme usually it starts with you having to pay a large sum of money to "start". This money goes to the person that "hired" you in and so on up the chain. You make money by getting more people to pay the fee and "join" the company. It goes on and on. Anyplace that has a large minimum purchase/initial stock to start is probably a pyramid scheme. My wife works with a multi-level on the side. She works with Stampin up. She had to buy a small starter kit of information etc... it cost $200. She then throws little parties and teaches people about stamping (woman thing but whatever). They buy the stamps off of here. She doesn't have to have them in stock, she buys them on demand and has them shipped. She has a minimum quarterly sales goal, but it is really small and she meets it on each party so it is no biggie. What she sells, her upline gets a piece of, and she gets some too.
  11. My wife works from home for Huntington National Banks. She writes a couple of Enterprise Web Applications. I could do this job from home but I know they wouldn't let me.

    Is the us to blame?

It has been proven that Tsunami warning systems often have little effect because people flock to the beach to see the waves. Why would it be up to us to tell people of immenant disaster, we aren't the world's "tornado alarm". Beside, who could have predicted this kind of devastation? Who would have known what was going to happen, that is why it is called a natural disaster.
  13. Bringing this up again. Just need to get a trip to Cozumel (Scuba Club Cozumel) together. Need prices etc...

    Mortgage advice

I know people on here do mortgages. I need to refi my house, I am going to get a shittier rate but it is something I must do. PM me if you have the hookup on mortgages.
  15. If you go 802.11G you will be at 54M, much faster than the link coming into your place. I would just do the wireless, unless you like running wire in the walls.
  16. I work for a guy that made us come in and then bolted at noon. He is a chump and if I didn't have a kid to feed I would have walk outta here a while ago.
  17. My company is based in Denver, they have no sympathy for snow. I shoveled twice last night and got down the driveway just fine. Put her in drive, stuck. Dig a couple of feet of runway, stuck, again, stuck. Neighbor helps push, stuck, dig, stuck, dig, push, stuck. weeee. finally I get the forward progress and make it to the end of the street, stuck, dig, stuck, dig, onto the street. I made it to work 20 minutes late. I have 15 people in my group, 3 of us are here.
  18. I had the same thing happen to me, I had to bust the damn knob off and then the screw has a nice big shoulder sticking up an can be removed quite easily.
  19. Back on subject, clearly (as this post has illustrated), you have to do some homework. It took me a while to get my 4.25% 15 year I have on my house now. If you do plenty of research and don't fall in love with any deal without looking for another deal, you will be fine.

    Just a question

You have to have a certain number of posts and then you can change it to something like mine.
  21. When I purchased my first home I had 10% and my mortgage company had something called a second saver loan, it was a second, short term, mortgage on the house for the other 10% and I didn't have to pay PMI. The great thing was that once I had the second paid off I had a really low payment. House cost $100,000 and I had $10000 down. Second Saver for $10,000 at a payment of something like $120 per month. Then I mortgaged the house at $80,000 for something like $680 (these numbers are fictitious and just for an example) So my total payment was $800 for the first couple of years, but I put all the money I could on the second. After owning the home for two years I owed $78,000 on the original note for a $100,000 home. Pretty sweet and I took all the money that would have been eaten by PMI and invested it in the home. When it sold I had TONS of equity and bought a much larger, much nicer home in a much better neighborhood.
