  1. I wouldn't say Hockey >* but I do miss it. Being from Minnesota we would be playing pickup games at the community rink by now.
  2. Where is that movie about Shmell computers, with the tech support in India?
  3. That is the thing about Norwalk, it is ready for a national event ALWAYS.
  4. I went to the World Nationals in August and it got rained out. So the date moved to October 9th and Norwalk setup for the show and billed it as bigger and better than ever. I went up there and the facility wasn't quite setup for the crowd, the number of people that showed up clearly was overwhelming the staff. After a top alcohol car went down the track, the chase vehicle (golf cart) went after the car. In his celebration, a 70 year old man fell off of the golf cart. The paramedics went over, along with the entire safety crew and a trauma doctor. While they where working on him, someone made the decision to start Top Fuel. This seemed odd to me, I mean, if I wanted the entire saftey crew in place for one event, it would be Top Fuel. Monday comes around and I send and email to Norwalk to voice my concerns about the safety and the fact that they where clearly being over run by the number of people that showed up. I expected no one would ever read the email, let alone reply. Today my phone rings and it is Bill Bader, JR. This is the guy that owns Norwalk. He wanted to call me to let me know that even he was surprised by the turnout and give me the skinny on the old guy. Aparently he didn't suffer that great of an injury and the trauma doctor told Bill Bader, SR (President of IHRA) that they could resume racing. So, with a falling track temp and an interest in providing the best show possible, Bill Sr. told them to run TF. Just goes to show you, unless you know the whole story you cannot make an informed decision. I absolutely love Norwalk Raceway and if you dragrace and haven't been up there, GO!, NOW! For Bill JR to call me just to make sure I knew everything was ok with that guy, and to make sure I wasn't turned off of Norwalk, really says something about that track. He also gave me his email address and told me to get in touch anytime I want. Sorry for the long post, this kind of thing doesn't happen much. Check out the post in the at the track section about NHRA track prep. Trails = slippery.
  5. The kid wanted his picture posted in the yearbook in a community events section. It just so happens that he enjoys skeet shooting. This isn't a crime ridden sport, if anything it shows useful ways to employ our right to keep and bear arms. I doubt they have a community event where people stand around all thugged out pointing their 9 gangsta style. This kind of crap really pisses me off. When I was in Minnesota, it wasn't unusual for someone to bring a shotgun or rifle to school, if they where hunting after class. I took my 12Guage to school all the time, on the bus, and walked some good hunting trails home.

    Deputy Murdered...

Probably because not that many normal people will go out of their way to protect someone they have never met. Police and Fire are on a different level. If they where illegals they probably won't even stand trial, since they aren't bound by our laws. Not really sure how it works but I bet they walk away, unless "something" happens to them. I hope they catch the bastards and make them understand how that woman will no longer have a husband, and how those children no longer have a daddy.
  7. "there's more than one Chi Chi's?"
  8. This happens on my Directv as well.
  9. When I got out of Active Duty I did CB in the reserves. They are very gun ho! For anyone that thinks they have a great deal to be greatful for, for anyone that sobs openly when they hear our national anthem, for any man or woman that wants to give to those they will never meet, I suggest joining up. I did 5 years in the USN, I loved it, I hated it, but mostly, I remember how deeply I love our nation. Ofcourse I am partial to the Navy, but anyone can find a job they love in any branch. The nice thing is that there are no useless jobs, everyone has a purpose. For those of you that don't support the war, I suggest you remember this. Your opinion is being supported by those that are fighting the war. Your right to disagree with the administration is also supported by those that you disagree with. In order to be a true patriot, every solder/sailor/airman must support and defend our constitution and thus they support the opinions of millions of people to either hate them or love them. I feel it is every American's right and duty to support the troops. If you meet someone that just came back, give 'em a hug, tell them how much you appreciate thier sacrafice, buy them a beer, then listen to their stories. You just might learn something.
  10. Anyone currently or previously, served in the armed forces? 5 Years, US Navy, USS Nebraska SSBN-739 (That is a Trident (Ohio Class) submarine to you and me Russ.) Over one year submerged. Sonar stands for SOund Navigation And Ranging.
  11. Domestic, What do you do in the nav?
  12. Moving Around In Navy Equipment. Good luck, make sure you listen closely, those guys just might save your ass some day.
  13. Make one, it is just a radiator cap that you put air in.

    COLUMBUS STATE???

I am an Adjunct Faculty member. I don't get to see that stuff, only Networking Academy and A+ or N+.
  15. You can weld cast iron, big square stick welding. Usually need a torch to preheat..... PIA, buy a new one.
  16. Just VBS music, I can get another copy at church, but it is the fact that some dirtball climbed into my car. The kinda thing that pisses you off all day.
  17. Someone broke my neighbor's window last night and stole CDs from their car, then got into my van (unlocked) and stole a bunch of my kid's CDs. Atleast they can listen to Vacation Bible School music. If they are reading this, or if you know who it was, I am the wrong person to piss off with this type of thing. I have friends with houses in the country, backhoes, and they don't ask questions.
  18. Mike Spitzer (Spitzer chassis) got a team together to buy Trails from NHRA but it didn't work out. If it had, everyone would be saying Norwalk sucks compared to Trails. By the way, went to Norwalk this weekend and it was excellent as usual. They didn't spend all day on the track, but they didn't keep and eye on it and spray and drag when needed.
  19. So to continue this thread, what happened on this last saturday?
  20. If I go with the iPod support gig, I won't get any "what is the start menu" calls. OSx doesn't have one.
  21. NHRA Pro racing enjoys some of the highest attendence of any race at Columbus. If they put some money into the track it could be quite lucrative. Unfortunately, getting a track bulldozed and replaced is quite pricey. I predict it will turn into MCIR. That is unless someone with an interest in racing, and a pile of money, offers to buy it.
  22. You and I agree on this point. Remember two years ago two rookies got stuck in the left lane in PS and rolled. Then Jegy put himself in the left lane and got all out of shape deploying the chutes at 900 feet. Well, I think this track is plagued with problems for one reason. Maintenance. The crew out there has no idea how to prep or maintain the track. The reason it hooks at national events is because NHRA's crew works the track, not the local guys. When they did the "repair" work last winter, they just covered over the crappy track with a skim coat. They need to rip the track out, fix the water problems with a new roadbed rather than just pointing and wondering. Then put down a concrete 1/8th at the minimum and all new shut down. Moving the starting line back 30 feet or so wouldn't hurt either as the shutdown is way too short for national events. If they did that and trained their staff the track would rule. Now hire Bill Bader as a consultant to get the facility up to speed (bleechers, concessions, etc... It would be a wonderful place.

    Plastic Surgery....

Since I have had laser eye surgery I have removed a handicap from my life. I wouldn't compare a procedure that changes almost ever aspect of your life with one that makes you look different and feel better.
