  1. But doesn’t he have to get everything fixed and inspected before he can retitle it? He was just going to keep driving it as-is and not fix it. Also there’s concern that his insurance won’t insure it with a bad title.

I'm no insurance expert, but basically they don't want to pay to get it fixed because it's cheaper for their bottom line to total it out. You have to take over that responsibility so they don't have to or you have to follow their rules.

  2. Both of you are 100% correct. Society in general is full of idiot drivers, but central Ohio takes it to the next level of mouth breathing stupidity.

Driver education needs to be much more thorough/challenging and the testing needs to be WAY more strict, and there needs to be a much harsher penalty for causing an accident. Common sense traffic laws are repeatedly broken everywhere you go, and unfortunately the police can't really enforce much more than the obvious cut and dry violations (speed, OVI, failure to control, etc). People stop when they have the right of way, they go when they shouldn't, I mean these are the absolute basics and people are too stupid and oblivious to figure it out.

Any left lane campers who impede the flow of traffic or dumbfucks that are doing 47 mph while merging onto the freeway should be fined $5,000 and forced to serve a year in prison. I'm joking, but not really

The problem is, the state doesn’t make money by failing people and they’ll likely drive anyway. Why not license them and let it be insurance’s problem? That’s also why insurance is a shitshow and you have to carry so much extra coverage.

  3. Consequences that suck, teach hard lessons. There's a fine line between too far and lesson learned. This would teach her something about the repair process and enforce it is not worth damaging things.

    This. ^

Thinking back to when I was a kid, getting grounded did nothing because I knew it would be over soon. However, when I busted the car and I had to pick up side jobs within walking distance because I couldn’t drive plus I had to save to fix the busted car really sent it home. If you make the mountain too tall to climb they may give up, but you have to make it large entrant the lesson gets driven home. Plus just remember all the crap people told at that age but went in one ear and out the other.

  4. Call the other insurance companies and try to get them to take care of everything. Your agent should be doing this for you but since they’ve weaseled out of it thus far, they are just gonna sit back and collect the premiums without doing anything.
  5. I’ve been watching the EV’s evolve and I’m patiently waiting to pull the trigger. I’m lucky as I have 240v/75a in my garage from the previous owner who did auto work so he was set up for a large compressor and welder. Once I see something that fits the bill, the wife’s daily will be an EV then after that I’ll wait for infrastructure development and a good long range. I travel too much now to wait but as rentals become more available or ev’s catch up I’ll switch too.
