  2. Thanks for the tips. I am assuming you mean I should install heatsink and fan before mounting the motherboard? I have some paste, but it's been in my desk drawer for 2 or so years. Probably a good idea to just can it and buy a new thing of it. Does brand really matter? I only do normal internet stuff, not really a gamer and no overclocking at all.
  3. My son and I take naps. My days are easy
  4. yea I know the RAM won't work which doesn't bother me any. His motherboard has 2 slots and I have (2) 2Gb sticks in my broken pc so I should be good. I just want the motherboard, but can out the video card to use also. Yea, he knocked it in half for me so I am assuming it's a good buy. Installing a motherboard is new territory for me but I feel with google at my side I can get it done. For some reason, even though many have said it will work, I feel something won't go right lol.
  5. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220057 that's the computer I have^ Apparently my motherboard is shot. I found the one below on cl for cheap. I had a few say my processor won't work with the board while others say all of my stuff will swap over just fine. http://columbus.craigslist.org/sys/3180633890.html specs for the board http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5G41TM_LX_PLUS/ Thoughts? I want to use everything I have on this board.
  6. Unfortunately I don't know any one who is really into computers. When I jumpered the 24 pin plugon the PSU I heard the hdd spin so I assume it is ok. Although I a know it doesn't mean much.
  7. Lightning apparently came through the phone line, fried my gateway and my computer. Local pc guy hooked the psu up to a tester and said it is good, even though one of the 5volts weren't working. Said it should be the motherboard. I'd rather find a cheap used one that buying one new and not knowing if it's going to fix it or not. Can't afford to run out and buy a new computer right at the moment. Computer I have is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220057 Also, I have never installed a motherboard but I'm sure I can make it happen. I also don't know if any and every LGA 775 motherboard will work or not? I am hoping to be able to just put all of my stuff onto another board and be able to use it until I can get a new desktop. Edit-If I go to newegg and search for "LGA 775" there are a bunch of motherboards that pop up, some for very cheap(refurbished). How do I determine what is compatible just in case I decide to go that route. As of now I only know I need to find one that can support at least 4GB RAM
  8. every one knows that those kits include shit wood. It still may be a route we have to take though.
  9. any of the ones people make and sell are so far overpriced though. I can do it, I just want to do it as cheaply as possible.
  10. I need at least 1 by august, but prefer to have two. Have any of you built any? did you use a kit or some plans you found online? I found lowes has a kit for $88 but I'm sure it's shitty warped wood. Found a couple for around $50-$100 on cl and have no idea how much it would be from scratch.

    power

Been out since Friday. Generator going but with powering the fridge, a freezer and the tv and stuff we can't run a/c.
  12. good point AJ. Asked my mother if it was pulling at all and she said not that she's noticed.
  13. that never even occurred to me. Guess I need to pull both wheels off and investigate
  14. slides looked good when I done the brakes. No noticeable wear on the lines. I am thinking caliper for sure.
  15. Caliper is sticking right? It's on my moms 94 bravada. I just changed both fronts wheels' pads and rotors not even 3 months ago. The inner pad on this one wheel(drivers side front) had no pad left. She just told me it's building up again. Could it be anything besides a caliper that likes to stick from time to time?
  16. it will always be there awaiting your return unless you found and clicked the actual hidden delete link
  17. till that little strip and fill it full of gigantic sunflowers or something. Might as well gain some privacy from the dickheads

if you need a shared host there isn't a better one than hostgator. Avoid godaddy, 1and1, dreamhost and the like
  19. Guessing the vehicle was wrecked or something? If so, tree, hammer, chain and come along
