  1. Maybe you should try getting your your car (any car) into the 9's.... Want to back up your keyboard act with a wager than says I'll break the 7.66 record in 2010?
  2. Only AEM does, Our Motec uses a CDI.
  3. Hey, thanks for all the comments. The article is sort of goofy, and we weren't able to edit it, but I guess that's to be expected. In hindsight, I clearly went over-board building this one, but I was fortunate enough to have a good couple years and didn't know when to say no. I'm pretty excited for next year. Hopefully I'll be around more to run it, as we made a TnT pass in August and our first full pass in October. We need more time to get it really dialed in....but we got some good data at MIR. We're going to wait to see what Titan runs this weekend and if they can cut into the high 50's, we feel confident enough to stick with our current set-up and give it hell to try to take the record away next year. They are cutting low 1.20's while we're still in the low to mid 30's. They are spraying two stages too, so we feel good being so close with much slower 60's and no spray. If they go faster than that, we're going to have to change some stuff up and make some decisions on whether we want to convert it to a true drag car. I bought a GForce, so hopefully we'll get it set-up by the March Mile and see how we do our first time out. We'll need to address the rear end at the strip and will probably switch to a 9 inch, either retaining the IRS or making the investment to a ladder bar (which will be a PITA and something we'll need to think about). But it would be cool to carry the tires 100 feet out. I drove it for the last time around town the other week and it's now stored in our warehouse, so look for some updates come next March down in Tx.
  4. It didn't look too bad, but it's going to need some paint
  5. That car was a rare baltic blue (think they only made them in 93/4) stock bottom end 76mm car that threw a rod in the burn-out box and caught fire. In regular light, its a very different color, closer to a teal. RSP is close to my color, but we used Spectra Bue Mica, an OEM Toyota color found mostly on early 00's Tacomas and some RAV4's....
  6. Yea, we sprayed a 350 shot and cleared 1000whp but blew the cometic head gasket. It was sick on the dyno though. So it's back to stock now and onto the next project. If anyone wants to buy a perfect condition bone stock black Z06 w/6k miles clear bra, tint, etc for $45k, PM me. The stock LS7 motor is a from a 2k mile stock car that did a swap. Yes, S4 is at VAST. We're doing some final race gas tuning and putting in a new twin disk clutch. It's for sale too, just haven't had time to respond to pic/detail requests.
  7. It's been awhile since I've been on the boards and figured I'd give a quick update. My Z06 is still down in Dallas, and my S4 is in Detroit, so the Supra is now serving daily driver duty. Drove to Kinko's last night to drop off a package, then took my wife out to lunch today and on the way home stopped by Borders to check out the Import Tuner magazine article they did on the car a few months back. We got stuck behind a school bus for a few miles through stoplight traffic and the expressions on the kids faces plastered against the back window was damn funny.... Even passed a Solon cop at a 4 way stop sign and she never even gave me a second look. My wife was looking for the sun visor...and I had to break it to her that Don took them out for some reason. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p239/ohiok04s4/Borders.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p239/ohiok04s4/Borders2.jpg Here's a quarterfinal video against a 8.20 Mustang from MIR this past weekend too...I think its around 5 minutes into the compilation. We unknowingly blew a side panel off the IC around 1200 feet during that run and arrived into the semis DOA. We had a great time again this year. There was an auto C6 there too running 8.90's over and over....
  8. I've owned my S4 for 7 yrs since new and haven't had a single problem with it in or out of warranty. Many of the issues you hear of are due to 2nd and 3rd owners who beat on them pretty hard.
  9. No look at the mph on the dyno, it's 4th gear, he just slipped the clutch, then laid into it. Amit is making over 1k to the tire by 5k. It's not a laggy set-up. Justin's expression afterwards, was pretty funny.
  10. Bench racing is fun isn't it.... Why can't you run the RPM 3.90 rear end that I have?
  11. How do you figure? I have a 7.5 legal cage in a stock body supra. Nothing close to a prostock tubular chassis. We made 1260 no nitrous/36 psi the other week through my 400.
  12. Thanks Jeff and Brandon for the pics....they look great. We had a good time at the track yesterday and it was nice to meet many of you. It was a real bummer though to fire up the car for the finals only to split our intake open from a nitrous backfire. Yesterday was our first pass of the season and we're obviously out of our normal routine as we just plain forgot to turn off the bottle. 4 hours of sitting with a leaky solenoid = a huge problem. The burst plates though really prevented a lot more potential damage. I don’t think we would have put down a good number with the track in the condition it was in, but nonetheless, good to be back in the seat after a long layoff. Jamie
  13. We take for granted that Ohio practically let's you plate and mirror a rail. I would get pulled over around here for having just an intake on my S4...hence why I may need to sell the Z06 and S4 if my firm makes me move out here. Street racing is pretty rare unless you count a middle aged guy in a stock 360 or 996tt flooring it on an on-ramp. This is road course country....no one is really into drag racing.
  14. Yea, we made the call that morning to bag the trip down after looking at the weather. Too bad Ohio doesn't have weather like out here in Palo Alto, CA.....it never rains out here.
  15. We're planning on coming down to run. Hopefully won't rain like last year.....
  16. Hey everyone, I am being temporarily transferred out to my Palo Alto CA office starting next week and given that I won't be around much this summer, and possibly longer, figured it unfortunately makes sense to offer up both my cars for sale. PM me if you're interested and I'll provide you any information you need, but I think most of you know the specs for each and have seen them multiple times. I would sell the Z06 for $63k and the S4 for $33k. You couldn't come close to building either of these cars for what I will sell them for (I am embarrassed to admit I have receipts for over $100k into each). The S4 is getting a stronger clutch next week, but otherwise runs perfect. It made just under 600awhp on a Mustang a few months back. It still remains my favorite car I've owned. The Z06 makes anywhere from mid 500's off the bottle to mid 800's on a 250 shot. Both are in showroom condition, inside and out and have been religiously maintained. I'll be commuting back attempting to get the Supra drag record this summer, so hope to still see many of you at the track or at an occasional GTG. Jamie
  17. Justin has his personal 996 running on an f-con and has an emulater for Motronic 7.xx. Tym Switzer also tunes Motronic. He's in Oberlin.
  18. Will be in Cleveland/Toledo Monday 18th throught Wednesday 20th if anyone needs any AEM, F-Con, or Motec tuning. PM me if you're interested,
  19. Cool, wrapping it isn't a bad idea....should look nice and blend in as much as it possibly can.
  20. When are you going to paint it? Do you have a pic of the chute?
  21. Not really. It doesn't fit well into any local classes....too slow to be competitive for DR and true 10.5 and we'd have to dumb it down to win street classes which isn't fun. I'm sure we'll run MIR WCF again this fall and a handful of the sport compact events. We're going to see if we can at least qualify Q16 for Norwalk's new monthly Outlaw format just for fun to see how many boos we can get from the big block crowd.... Assuming we get it buttoned up in time, we'll be out for the first race 5/15.
  22. Looking good guys. Glad to see folks still spending serious money on their cars....
  23. He's actually not that bad of a driver, at least what I've seen in person. I know Willie reasonably well, this is the Mustang that ran JP's Supra on the track and on the highway awhile back down in Florida (forget what boost he ran and what set-up since he had a 42-76 and switched to a 80mm at one point). Last I heard he was making close to 1200 to the tires at 30 lbs. Not sure when this vid was taken though or why he couldn't launch it.
