  1. Sure is, Opel was one of the first to use this design in racing; it was first used on two stroke diesel setups. More air mass in + more fuel mass added = more exhaust mass to bring the turbine online. The trick is to build a system where the bypass can handle the mass flow without choking. Or, if you don't like belts, you can use a staged multi turbo system: http://www.turbos.bwauto.com/products/r2s.aspx
  2. Neat pics, always good to see some brave souls braving the weather.
  3. If it is still around, check out Bomber Squadron, by the airport, very one of a kind place.
  4. Atleast it was the redline, right? eh???? right guytthhs?
  5. That's pretty spot on. When you start getting into twist rates and frag @ the target, things change a bit. If you are going to shoot most decent off the shelf 55gr, should be fine.
  6. Sounded like a great man, and an excellent father. Sorry for your loss.
  7. There were a few posts on snipercentral regarding the gear and the operator is a well known member on INGO. Haven't met him personally but he posts alot of good stuff.
  8. If you can't go deep, can you "wing" the pan and go wide with baffels around the sump for the pickup?
  9. I've heard good things from both so I don't think you could have gone wrong either way. On the VANOS; depending on the mileage and age, the seals and gaskets are known to open up and the acuator and solenoid tend to go south on track cars abit quicker. As you probably know, you are only giving up about 15-25ft-lbs below ~4800rpm when the cam returns to the non advanced position, so, even if it were problematic you probably wouldn't feel the effects. Just piece of mind, I guess.
  10. I can only speak for Turner's setup which was relatively easy to install. We didn't do alot of serious racing; just a few HPDE and BMWCCA races but didn't have any problems with the oil light turning on or valve train/vanos noise. If you're in there you probably should secure your oil pump nut with a weld or with one of these. Might be a good time to pull the VANOS unit and send it in to Dr. VANOS.
  11. The NXS series from Nightforce and Schmidt and Bender optics should be in the same price range and pretty damn good competition. I've been impressed with Bushnell's Elite line; some of the benchrest guys at Thunder Valley run them on their bolt .50s and can hold a 12" ring at a mile just fine.
  12. I have to say, coming from an avid AR user and shooting an L85 bull pup, was a very different experience. Very different feeling in CQB. Nice buys.
  13. http://www.aemelectronics.com/dyno-shaft-on-vehicle-dyno-73/?osCsid=308e8qqqe2dlm5rbnc9tli3o11 AEM’s Sportsman Series Dyno-Shaft on-vehicle dynamometer system is literally a dyno on your car. It is as accurate as the most respected dynamometers in the industry. It provides real, accurate Horsepower and Torque numbers that are produced by measuring a vehicle’s Torque and RPM at the driveline, while you drive! The Dyno-Shaft Sportsman Series is designed for competitive amateur racers and serious performance enthusiasts whose applications can utilize a cast iron slip yoke. For higher stress applications, the Dyno-Shaft Pro Series kit features a CNC-machined Chrome Moly slip yoke. Measures Torque and RPM at the driveline to deliver real Horsepower and Torque numbers Does not skew readings like accelerometer-based units – No assumptions, real data! Eliminates guesswork when troubleshooting or making changes at the track Create dyno charts which can be saved, printed, or shared electronically (requires AQ-1 Data Logger) Sportsman slip yoke is manufactured from ductile cast iron Sportsman slip yoke splines are manufactured from a broaching process that produces industry-leading mating fit parts Sportsman slip yoke is temperature compensated and individually calibrated (two-point calibration) for load Very interestinggggg.....
  14. I'd probably buy a rail or bayonet chainsaw adapter.
  15. Joe (mojoe) came pretty damn close to getting hit, luckily he was OK. :fuckyeah:
  16. People laugh at "Army Strong", but this man represents every letter of the phrase.
  17. I'm not to far from there in Ft. Ben Harris, will have to stop up.
  18. No plan survives first contact. All the rock drills, glass houses, and muscle memory take a back seat when you realize that shit has hit the fan. Not saying they don't help when you come to your senses, though.
  19. Ray we need to sit down for a beer and some grub, would love to hear more about this project.
