You seem antsy!!!! Stick to the A4, you will like it. Keep looking if you haven't found one you want.

I have had a 2006 DSG FSI, my dad has a 2008 DSG FSI and I currently have a 2009 TSI 6mt. If you have any questions, let me know. I suggest trying to get the tsi engine, its much better. The New Beetle (97-2011) had such a large dash because of the shape of the car. This was a necessity, not an option.

If you are refering to the maint items, those are the things that shpuld have been replaced by his mileage based on vw recommendations. Its pretty certain most regular owners aren't doing the correct maint period. If you were talking about the engine part, the 3.6 in the passat is known to blow the engines. There was a revision afor 2009 I think, but still not worth the risk imo.

OP, nice car. Make sure you change the spark plugs, cabin air filter, engine air filter and the cam follower asap. Good luck! Doing some research on that engine might change your mind...

Don't be mad I kicked the B8's ass last night. Its ok.

The shifter is absolutely horrible in the 6 speed cars. My brother bought one new in 06, sucked balls from day 1 (shifter). He had zero problems in the 50k he owned it. Pretty quick too, for what it is.

quattroworld audiworld craigslist In straight line speed, and regarless of what jones wishes to admit, the v8 s4 is faster than anything short of a k04 2.0T A4. I really like the engine, but the possibility of major repairs on a car that isn't cheap to buy yet besides one off sketchy examples like you posted above, make it off the list for me. The A4 will do 85% of what an S4 can do, and with the right mods, can be made to brake and handle BETTER due to its lower weight. he interiors are the same sans the seats. You are only compromising the sound and power for 85% of the power and the ability to get almost 200% better gas mileage with the A4. The S4 is cool and all, but largely irrelevant with todays turbo kits that push the 2.0T power well into the 300 range with the K04.

Ask jones about the v8 s4s if you want, but this serves as your warning! The s4 is a bit to hard on parts, has v ery little room to work on them and if something should go wrong, and is too costly to mod/maintain and the possibility of major failure and or high dollar repairs would make them a non option for me.

Yep, had a great time, left about 10 minutes too early, ot doesn't take much tme to shoot up 315 to riverside. Thanks doc and good seeing everyone.

Thats interesting. I think the Veloster is a cool car, wish they would come out with a performance one.

PS, what cars do you see customers comparing to the 500? What about the dealer, what cars do you guys compare it to? If I had to guess, Fit and mini the most? Seems odd to compare it to the much larger cruze, focus, golf, etc.
-
You can use that argument about any car... The fiat is a nice car, ok, fine. The fact of the matter is it isnt an extraordinary performer in any category, and you seem to portray it as so. That alone is perfectly fine. My main issue is the price. My wife absolutely loves the 500, and I am happy they brought it over. Hopefully it will pave the way for other smaller performance cars from VW. I won't buy any of the small cars, but glad they exist.

Comparing the mkv interior to the current generation mkvi is foolish. It is 9 years old... Compare to the MKVI and get back with me. The MKVI GTI interior is better than anything in its class, and tons of cars much more expensive, read base 3 series, c class, etc.

I am going to see this at noon, ugh.

The fiat 500 is cool and all, but is not enough to work in the super competitive small car market, especially at its price point.
-
If you are still considering this car, I would get details on what this means. Did they replace the follower? just have it inspected? replace pump? cam? etc. This might not mean anything more than an inspection, which I would still do myself to make 100% sure.

design flaw it really isn't an issue if known about from day 1 my dads car is all stock, he replaced it at 30k miles and it looked fine. We will be doing it every 25k, so 50/75/100 etc, its like $50 and should keep him from every having any worries. If you are chipped, like Jones said, move that to about 10/15k depending on driving habits. The 2.0T TSI is the redesign of the 2.0T FSI. It addresses the timing belt by using a chain, upgrades the fueling system (high bar/psi and redesigned fuel pump/cam area eliminating this worry), and pcv system. They introduced the new engine in 2008.5 in the VW Audi products. No B7 A4 has the TSI. No need for pcv fix, or fuel pump on the TSI, making it much cheaper to get same power out of the TSI, and the TSI is getting better numbers mod for mod, due to a much better flowing head.

That one looks like a good deal. It has some mods: It has the Votex front and rear fascia (Audi/VW product, after purchase option), BBS CH wheels, looks to be a bit lower than the sport package, probably on springs, tint, has wood trim and the spare is a 17" C5 A6 wheel. Looks nice though, just not a fan of the front votex extensions.

Yes, timing belt should be done about 75k ish. I got mine chipped at TC Kline and it was a good experience. Wait for a APR sale usually 2-4 times a year, and you can get a "fully loaded" ECU for the price of just the single program (chip). With 30 min labor, my bill was $650 for 4 programs, stock, 91, 93 and 100 (valet is an option, but I never valet my car, so I thought having the 91 octane in case I travel out west with it was the best bet). Test pipes are cheap on Ebay, about $150. Fuel Pump should also be purchased during the sale, saving cash, but are very expensive full retail. 2k and you should be all set, allowing for the cam follower, DV, PCV, Chip, Test pipe and pump. I had GIAC on my 06 A4, and it was fine, but I will stick with APR from here on out.

The caribou coffee on Hamilton and Morse right?
-
They are not selling as well as they expected them to, and their price is too high considering the compact cars that can be had for far cheaper, or the civic/elantra/golf size cars which are about the same price, and provide a much larger car.

were you going for this response? No, its at Blocks.
