  1. dont compromise, wait for the right car. You will find it. If you get anything than your #1 choice, you will always wonder, what if... The A4s are very common, just keep searching, looking and jump on one you feel comfortable with.
  2. by that you mean firm on not having fwd. lol
  3. Next year after the new Malibu, fusion and escape pops up, they will probably be in the running for the award too, none of which are exciting.
  4. Just because I wouldn't buy the new passat doesn't mean it isn't deserved. It fits none of my needs as jones said above therefore, not interested. If I was looking for a nice midsize car, sure I would consider it. Thankfully jones is saying what I wanted to say because typing all this on my phone is pissing me off!
  5. Yep, people vote with their wallets, and nobody buying 10 year old F bodies and Grand Prix have the abillity to sway companies into building exciting cars. Purchasing new, is the only way, and most people want family cars/people movers/boring/big/automatic. The R32/Golf R are just regular models over in Europe/ROW, not once every 4 years with 5k supply. They offer tons of diesel and high powered gassers, manual transmission, and AWD and any combination in between. Here, we get 4 colors in the greyscale, fwd only sans SUVs, or specialty one of R versions. The flip side, is cars are significantly cheaper to purchase here, than anywhere else.
  6. And lol at you thinking vw is taking the auto industry into boring cars. They are forced to do this because boring shit from the below is selling like hot cakes, enthusiast cars don't. Go check out the european options for vw, dozens of color choices, dozens of engine/trans/drivetrain layouts. Toyota honda nissan lexus acura chevy ford Sans the camaro/mustang/corvette, their equivelant models are just as boring.
  7. While it certainly isn't fantastic, is it less deserving than the fusion some years back? No. The fact is, they are making large advances in sales and public perception with these watered down models. If exciting sold, they wouldn't have to do this. It doesn't, so they have to. In the us, reliable, large , bland automatic sedans sell. The old b6 was a great car, but never sold well because the euro version cost alot. The new passat can be had for cheaper, but with stripper models only. The strategy is low base prices to bring customers in, then they option the car out. This works as the new jetta has higher avg transaction prices than the outgoing model despite significantly lower base price. Cliffs, buy a nw exciting model you want them to keep building, or shutup.
  8. Jones, ricer conversions, really? Iv rings, b6s are irrelevant now sans yours with a cool swap. Looking online will only get you so far, you have to go see the car to really see how much it is worth, if you like it, etc. The cincy one looks fine, a bit high on the price, but nice. Pictures can cover up an amazing amount of damage/ugly though.
  9. I thought they came out with a tow solution for those, did they not? edit: They do, but I don't know what the max ratings are.
  10. They want 30k for it...ask me now I know. Awesome car, but they want about 5k too much.
  11. I know, happened to me yesterday for the 4th time with cars in the past 6 months. 06 cts v for 22500, 2 years warranty left and only 48k miles. Called Saturday, set up time on Sunday, call Sunday when leaving, guy in parking lot wrote check for 1k over asking price, car is gone. Lol Oh well!
  12. Glad you got some info! Get a list of parts they will be replacing with the timing belt and compare with the kits online, make sure you have them replace the water pump if they aren't going to. Also, pics of the follower would be great. Other than that, offer whatever you want, its your money, but I think 12kit would be a good deal. I would try to put a deposit on it if you like it so much, loaded car with under 100kthe with maint taken care of for 12kthe is a good deal. Just a thought!
  13. You can call audi of america with a vin number and ask for the packages and original sticker price of any car you were looking at to see exactly what it has. Say you are looking at purchasing the car and want to be sure of the options it has, etc.
  14. 2005.5 A4 release info: http://www.audiworld.com/features/tests/b7a4.shtml Option packages: http://www.vehix.com/car-reviews/2005/audi/a4/20055-4dr-sdn-20t-manual/vehicle-options The first quartz gray one is just as nice with a blck interior, for cheaper, am I missing something on this last one?
  15. Audiworld and quattroworld Vortex has a good 2.0t fsi forum too.
  16. The 9k one will need an instant 500 in parts, more in labor if you don't do the timing belt/wp and regulator yourself. Also, the extended warranty for the cam follower is expired (100k miles). The price is low and he seems to be motivated, this would be appealing at 8k though. I would pay more for a better car, but the price is good. The third one looks like they used armor all on all the interior surfaces, seats included. It also has the s line front end, wheels and door blades, which are not factory on 05.5 cars. Id skip it for the price honestly. The second one seems to be the best of the 3 imo. still has some cam warranty left, looks stock and in really good shape. It has xenons, bose, premium package (rain sensing wipers, auto dim rear view morrors, power folding mirrors, etc) ps quartz gray is a sweet color, offer 11k and enjoy! Pps, make sure you do timing belt and cam follower if they haven't been done though.
  17. Great, I will be there at 7! Thanks Doc.
  18. Is it too late to get a seat at the NOVA table? Let me know. Thanks.
