  1. I wouldn't mind challenging you to a beer chug. At OSU 2 years ago I was never beat. However I haven't drank much since then so my technique and speed is not at its peak........... I raced my brother at my wedding. He made the rules, I wasn't paying attention and I didn't follow his rules. I always threw the cup down after a chug. He said to turn cup upside down. I was already drunk and didn't listen, so he ultimately won, but in a super gay way. lol
  2. Aesthetic Influx, White, Neonkiller and TE7two all have MKIV 1.8T's Supplicium, myself and another guy(besides you) have MKV 2.0T's Cred05 and 96ragtop have b5 S4's Andyon19's has a B5 A4 Jones has a D2 S8 and a B7 A4 S-line Someones wife has a B7 A4 also.
  3. cool....any info on it?
  4. I didn't know they made a B5 Allroad:bangbang: If I ever find a nogaro avant 6mt in excellent condition, it will be mine!!!
  5. Its all up to you man. 17" are more than enough on MKIV's. Even the "bulkier" looking mkv's look good with 17"ers. Let us know how it works out.
  6. Will you be able to get away with any less stretch? 10" wheels mean business. If those are the wheels, I would def do it. They look great. Especially with your jetta front, they would look even better than pictured. :bangbang:
  7. The problem is I love the way both the sedans and Avant's look in all A/S4's. B5/6/7/8. However the exclusivity of having a 6mt Audi avant and having 2 dogs makes hatchbacks and avants the clear winner for me.

I just hope that the domestic dealers get a wake up call on how they treat their current customers, and potential customers. Killing the demand for the GT by adding 5-10k markups was retarded. Hopefully they don't do this for the GXP, and hopefully they drop the elitist attitude that seems to accompany the domestic performance cars. Go into a Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes dealer and you will be behind the wheel of the 911/S/M/AMG cars within a half hour, manytimes without the salesman.

I agree that we are all trying to argue a similar view of all of these cars. Audi's do not have the best resale value either. That is why I am not here saying that I wish I would have bought a new RS4. After 2-2.5 years, the RS4 is about 50% value. There are cars that do hold their value well. The 2004 R32 would have been a fantastic car to buy NEW, drive for 4 years and sell for 18-25k depending on mileage and condition. Also, the Acura TL holds its value extremely well also. With the current domestic auto climate, spending 40k on a car NEW domestic car is not a smart decision. Especially when you will be able to pick one up in 6mo-1yr for 50-60% of new price. And when you add on top of it the fact that buying a Certified used car comes with a warranty that would cost almost 3x to buy when buying the car new, or after owning the car. I guess it is just a general "buy used" point I am trying to make, that is compounded by the fact that consumers don't have a lot of confidence in GM/Ford/Chrysler. Hyundai has become a great car manufacturer by producing high content cars with a great warranty at a great price. GM is slowly turning up the content of their cars, adding a good, yet pricing their cars too high. Its not rocket science, people buy a good value.
  10. I have come across 2 very nice examples in the last 2 weeks. Both black 6mt cars. 1 is a 2001 avant, 47k miles, new tires-mint wheels, mint interior, 9/10 outside (lots of chips with touch up paint) for 14900 at byers imports. 2 is a 2000 or 2001 sedan, 59k miles, good tires-curbed wheels, mint interior and a 9.75/10 outside ( no chips, no dents, almost perfect) for 13900 at lexus dealer off of sawmill rd and 161. If it wasn't for the neg equity in my MKV, I would have bought the avant. cred, great looking car man.
  11. Even not knowing what wheels you are talking about, I would trade. I am not a huge fan of your wheels after you painted them. I loved them before, but the red stripe and the fact that you can see the Audi rings on the center caps through the black paint killed the wheels for me. (Sorry) From the looks of those dimensions, you will be flamed by everyone here at CR lol. Stretch and tuck is not in the LSX/Mustang handbook haha. Any more info on the wheels? brocks? Mercedes? I personally would do it in a heart beat. You know as soon as you decline the offer, you will want those wheels (or others) even more and not a single person will want yours. Its just the way it goes. If you have an offer now, and a means to make it all work, then by all means do it.

When you shop for a car, how do you do it? Do you look at only NEW cars? do you shop by price? by brand? by performance? etc... I certainly can compare used with new car prices. I am spending MY money on a car. When I shop for a car, I do it by price. If I can spend a maximum of $xx,xxx for a car, I go out and find EVERY car (New, used, warranty, no warranty, 2dr, 4dr, suv, pickup) that intrigues me and put it on a list. I weigh the + and - of every car depending on its age, performance, depreciation, warranty, practicality, cost etc. I then buy the car that I like the BEST based on all of those factors. However the main basis for compiling the list is PRICE. Nobody goes out and compares cars based on any 1 attribute alone whether its price, age, performance etc. A CPO 2007 RS4 will have 4 years and at least 70k of warranty left. It will perform as good as or better than the GXP. It is also capable of being driven in 12" of snow, something no GXP will be able to do. Add to that the prestige, interior materials, fit/finish and all weather versatility and there really is no comparing the 2 FOR ME. That is exactly why there isn't 1 car model made in the world. You seem to like domestic products, I tend to like German (especially Audi/VW). Because both VW and GM exist, we are both able to buy a car we like. Exactly.

    exactly my point.

Right, because a Venza is a good comparison to the GXP...:gtfo: How about the 335, RS4, M3, CTS-V, C55, E55 etc. Pick up a low mileage CPO 1 year old model of any of those for the price of a GXP or CHEAPER and you get as good of a warranty or BETTER, a much nicer car interior wise, and you wont be paying for the ridiculous depreciation that is GM.

Agreed. It is comical how much ford and chevy charge for their cars. No doubt they will kill the demand for the GXP by adding HUGE dealer markups, just like the G8 GT. I will take a Certified Used 2008 CTS-V over the GXP any day.
  16. Its a file on a computer. The computer gets plugged into the obd style port and downloaded like a computer file. And then you have a different car. Takes about 30 minutes total.
  17. Awesome....... The stg 2 (flash and dp) should net you a few more hp and tq to top off your basic bolt ons. You will never see that kind of hp/$ ration again, so might as well leave the engine alone after that lol.
  18. My brother is interested, but needs contact info
  19. I do think the BMW has a nice interior, but it is underwhelming for me. I do think they are better than Mercedes and Lexus, but not up to Audi's interiors. Like you said, people have different opinions. I wouldn't let their interior stop me from buying their cars, but would prefer an Audi interior. I generally just like the way Audi does things better than BMW. I love the E46 and E9X M3, E9X 335 and E39 M5(which I don't fit in) They are the only cars I would consider from BMW. In the Audi lineup, I like every model they have, all of them. Its not like we are comparing a Bentley to a kia. Both Audi and BMW are comparable in almost every aspect. I doubt either loses that many buyers because of their interiors.
  20. Very cute Our Husky is about 4.5 months and 20lbs lol
  21. I would upgrade everything you want done BEFORE you go BT. Chip DP DV FMIC Short shifter Brakes (at minimum:rotors, pads, fluid and SS lines) Suspension LSD After your wallet recovers, then get into BT territory with something a bit bigger than both of those you stated. I plan on doing brakes at end of summer and suspension in the winter.
  22. I completely agree with you, except for their underwhelming interiors.
