  2. That's a pretty bold decision to make in today's environment.
  3. They made it ridiculous because that's the art of negotiation. Ask for way more than you "need" so you can negotiate down to what you really wanted.
  4. True story. Awesome collection, and beautiful family. You must be doing something right. Flawless Victory
  5. In a SHTF scenario do you think an AR would be more effective against groups of looters?
  6. Coins are fine, if you can find the deals. They are just harder to come by because demand is so high. No matter what you are investing in, the idea is to buy it for less then what you can sell it for later (I know yeh, duh, right) But when you start in the hole (paying a premium) it just makes it harder, unless you are in a very volatile market. I personally (and this is merely an opinion) believe we are in a sideways market. Meaning you will see small ups and downs, but in general the next couple years we will be about where we are now. Ofcoarse I'm not making millions analyzing the market with propiatary algorithms, so my opinion is worth less than the phone I typed it with.
  7. Coins, not likely. Bars, probably. The only time I got coins below their "real" value was an eBay deal. A seller had a fair price to begin with, and I had a coupon available and stacked it with a cashback promo AMEX was running on one of my cards.
  8. Andy's advice is very sound. Find it by the ounce, and pay as far below spot as you can. Typically this will require finding someone you can deal with face to face, and in cash.
  9. eBay is not indicative of the true market. A. The sellers incur high fees for listing, selling, receiving payment, shipping, and insuring. B. The buyers manipulate coupons and cash back rewards lowing their true cost.
  10. The gold value itself is only 1667, and as you said those coins sell in the $1720 and up range. People pay a premium for them. For that reason I steer clear of them... But I know people that make money with them.
  11. Are you wanting to physically hold it?
  12. Check out investopedia or bankrate.com for some more info. I'll try and dig a couple things up when I'm not posting from my phone.
  13. It definitely has it's place. That being said, you shouldn't allocate more than 5% of your investable assets in one thing. But if it is just an addition to an existing portfolio, you can easily use an ETF.
  14. Deal just got listed on slickdeals.net Out of stock in 5....4....3...2...
  15. I agree, and see it the same way. Just trying to see if most people feel that way.
  16. As the title says, Do you really believe there is a chance for a SHTF scenario in your lifetime? (for example: complete economic collapse, entire grid loss due to hacking or EMP) A. Yes B. Maybe C. Never D. Choke on a dick Just wondering what everyones thoughts were, with all the "Why do people need Assault Rifles" talk Edit: thanks for adding the poll feature
  17. Very Delicate. It would be a short time before corruption ruined anything good that could really come from this, just as it has ruined anything that comes along with that sort of "power". I would say the one with the mental illness themself
  18. I am sure there is some difference in a rural area such as where I live compared to a bigger city like Cleveland or Columbus, but around here it is just about the opposite. Everyone that I personally know with multiple ARs are the best people I know. They are the guys that I can call and they will help me move for 3 straight days (Yes... 3 days). They are the guys who help and don't ask for anything in return. They are the guys that, as I type this, are out spending thousands of dollars on toys for less fortunate kids in my area. They do their own "Secret Santa" Except they don't accept donations, and no one knows who they are (outside of anyone that participates)
  19. I expect better out of you..... No he doesn't by a gun. He uses a homemade bomb, or a knife (like the sick fucker in China) I am all for NHRA licensing, the whole 9 yards - ONE dedicated TRACK purposed car is fine - there is ABSOLUTELY no need for civilians to have 10 second cars, period. People should not be allowed to have anything more than one caged slicked car for track purposes ONLY. Thats it. If you have an NHRA license, then you can have a race car- other wise there is simply no f'in need. Don't give me that freedom crap. We have other countries that are allowed to race if you want to watch them. If you don't like it then LEAVE. Go hide in Mexico and make youtube videos. :gabe:
  20. No, I wouldn't expect anything that ancient in an early 80s build. My old house though was built around 82 and had the pushmatic box. I had odd electrical problems off and on for a couple years. Batches of things would randomly "go bad". After we upgraded the box, we never had another problem. Could be coincidence, but I doubt it. Glad your already updated. Just figured I'd throw it out there just incase.
  21. The house doesn't by chance have an old crappy 100 amp pushmatic breaker box does it? If so, change it out for an updated 200 amp setup while you are at it.
  22. Same seems to be going for 30 round mags. I ordered 10 PMAGS for $99 delivered last week. The same place is now $175 So Senator Manchin just two things... First, you really don't know ANYONE that has competed in a 3 gun competition? Second, while we are on the subject of "who we know". I don't know anyone in the sporting or hunting arena that CALLS A MAG A CLIP!
  23. Welcome. Looks like you have a nice start to quite the street monster there. Look forward to seeing it come together.
  24. whoa, wait Dumping the GT500?? Or will you be able to do a c6z,gt500,cts-v,gtr... back to back to back to back comparo?
