  1. If it's an OEM replacement, I would go over it. If it's a "fun " project, anything goes.
  2. I got you Rocky, didn't really read word for word all the way down. Wasn't knocking on you or anything, I understand that you were simply answering what he asked. I think a lack of understanding how the system works isn't helping, as I could see him latching onto the electrical part of it as an "easy fix" then when it doesn't get cold another barrage of questions comes up because we didn't spend enough time with step #1. I just helped a neighbor with his A/C and he insisted on using a can in an empty system. The directions were very misleading and mixed with not understanding enough of the system led to difficulty in diagnosing/repairing the problem for him.
  3. You are running in circles. If you jump the relay all it proves is that it works. If you have been venting the system which is illegal for shops to do btw, and still have pressure it is most likely air. You need to evacuate it which puts the system into a vacuum. Then recharge with proper amount. Once we know for sure the proper amount is in and the compressor still does not come on, then we can discuss electrical issues. Until then you are wasting your time.
  4. Probably want to go ahead and take it somewhere. Sounds like there is a ton of air in the system.
  5. I love hard luck awards. They are always so well deserved and the stories are MOST excellent.
  6. Looks great on some (E30, & E92), terrible on others?
  7. Props for running regular plates on the historical cars. Gives the impression that you actually drive the car frequently. Welcome aboard!
  8. '77 T/A is a fun ride. I think my boss and another gentleman on this board were discussing your storage facilities the other month. Could be different ones, but it's a small world most of the time. Post some pics up, I mean it's not going to get the car dirty to show it on a forum.
  9. So, what I get is that since you are a douche bag, you aspire to be a rich one.....got it.
  10. Jason's Deli at 7 works, Erica and I will be there. Hope some others will be out as well.
  11. Jason's Deli 7:00pm 1122 Gemini Place Columbus, OH Erica and I have never been, heard great things, will be there regardless of how many people show up.
  12. So YOUR the reason 270 was a mess that night...... I kid, glad it wasn't worse than it was. I want a bike dearly but these stories keep me away. Erica called me stuck in traffic that evening complaining about "road construction" then noticed it was an accident involving a bike.
  13. When you say do what you want, you mean talk so much on a forum to the point that every time your name comes up people chuckle about how silly your posts are? I mean throwing money around would be fun and all, but at the end of the day does it really matter? No. I think you can claim to do "whatever you want" and enjoy it, it's not for everyone.
  14. When you turn the car over is the tach moving? Making an assumption that if you have a tach reference then your position sensors are "ok" since they usually provide tach ref. Coolant temp sensor would be easier to look at with a scan tool, YES they can cause the car to not start. Ask me how I know.....what do you think the PCM is doing to the fuel trims if it thinks it's -85* outside? I don't think based on your info that it is the CTS, has the car started ok after it cooled off? Or still no start at this time? Crank/Cam sensors are common to fail when they are hot, then work fine once they cool off.
  15. Slick car, way to go above and beyond to make the car as enjoyable to drive as possible for the customer.
  16. Car was at Gatebil this year. Speedhunters has some great coverage of the event. If you think you have "seen it all" when it comes to swaps do not under estimate Sweden/Norway people. Coverage http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/06/all-good-things-must-come-to-an-end/
  17. Nice, your projects are more my pace. I don't do the project threads because there is so much time between my updates.
  18. The 9-2X is essentially a WRX wagon with SAAB stuff on it. If you look under the hood you will find the subaru 2.0L flat four. They are CLASSY, love the AERO model. Only thing with SAAB right now is finding some parts if things break. For the most part it's ok, but some things can be a strain.
  19. Fun times, great group of people to hang out with!
  20. Welcome, nice Honda. Couple of saltwater tanks here on the board as well.
  21. Lotta aero working there......not engineered to go backwards on the fastest parts of the track. Glad it wasn't worse...
