I'll run it at whatever I can to get traction. So on the street, I'll probably run on the new waste gate springs of 8psi. 750ish rwhp, which even then is going to be too much. Then whatever I can run at the track. Traction is a bitch, the current drag radials aren't going to cut it. Next I'm either going to run Hoosier A6's or the new MT 345 ET Radial. The MT is suppose to be about 1-1.5" taller then what I'm currently running and stickier. If that doesn't hook, then I'll bring it down to 6psi and see if that works.

IPS threw the car on the dyno today to see what she would put down. Not too bad considering it's going through an automatic. Not sure what % loss I get now, but even locked up it's worse then a 6 speed. Car was still spinning with 3 of us sitting in the back! We couldn't figure out why the HP and torque curves weren't moving much when we increased boost. We knew it was spinning a little because there was a ton of rubber chunks from the Drag radials flying all over the car/floor/wall. We had 3 of us sit in the back an gained 80rwhp/torque! To the numbers! 4#'s: 637rwhp 8#'s: 735rwhp 14-15#'s: 934rwhp/902rwt Had to do some work on the computer and started running into .5 degrees knock at 12#'s. So we threw some leaded 110 in there to get the job done. Air Fuel was between 11.5-12 through the dyno's sniffer and I think max timing was in the 22-24 range. The boost gauge showed a spike in boost of 17#'s for a tenth of a second then back down to 14-15. The problem I'm running into is the 4# waste gate springs not allowing the car to go past 14/15#'s. We are going to upgrade those to 8# springs which will allow us to go into the 20#+ range with the boost controller. Also the injectors are completely maxed out now, so even with the waste gate change, we'd still be capped. Also, we are ditching the meth injection and going with an E85 conversion. Since we have to change injectors anyway, might as well run them big enough to handle the flow needs of E85. Should allow us to run more boost safely and should allow the LSX blocks to run cooler. Not like 205 on the freeway is that bad, but it can always be better, lol. IPS will post the dyno graph tomorrow. Couldn't be happier. Jason

I would disagree. I think a LS1 F-body takes that. Cars already runs mid-low 13's stock. Some fairly inexpensive mods will take you into the 12's consistantly. Though I don't really know DSM's that well, so don't know how much it costs to mod them and how fast they get with a few mods.

Dynamat's effectiveness in masking Exhaust Drone?
LPFSTheFett replied to LPFSTheFett's topic in Passing Lane
I also like the dynamat because it's self adhesive. Some of the others I've found on searches are not. Though I wouldn't mind getting something this weekend instead of waiting 10 days for the other stuff to be delivered. What else is self adhesive that I might be able to pick up locally? -
Dynamat's effectiveness in masking Exhaust Drone?
LPFSTheFett replied to LPFSTheFett's topic in Passing Lane
I just want whatever is going to be the best for my application. What are some other options? I'd also perfer to pick it up local. I found a 50sq/ft pack of the xtreme for $115 at amazon.com, but don't want to wait for shipping... -
Anybody that has an auto and a loud exhaust knows it sucks ass driving down the freeway. So... I'm considering putting Dynamat Xtreme over the back half of the Z06 as there is literally nothing there now. I know it's going to weight like 20#'s but I'm not to concerned with the weight as it will help me get traction anyway. The back flooring and everything is some kind of fiberglass material and when you knock on it, it's very hollow sounding. Just wondering if I were to put this dynamat in the car if it would make a noticeable improvement. What I don't want is to spend the time doing this for nothing especially knowing that it's hard as hell to get out. Thanks! Jason

I was heading home, but yeah that was me that passed you. I waved out the window after I passed. But figured you may not have seen. I saw the white C6 at the light as I was passing and as soon as I saw the black rims, knew it was you. So revved it up a little as I passed, lol.

Can't wait to see it run. 700wheel even at your weight will be low 10's and you still can hit a high 9. You should come to the July 26th track day at Dragway 42!
-
Done! Will be fun if nothing else. We'll need to roll from 60+ though. No way I'm gonna hook up at 40.
-
Don't forget the traction control!!
-
I want a 40 roll. However we have to have matching boost. Say 8#'s each?

Looks good AJ, can't wait to hear it!

Doh.... I paid and didn't read this line. Can you have someone update it for me? Jason Fetter, LPFSTheFett, 2007 Chevy Corvette -
+1 His car is not slow. It's even suppose to be much faster this year. Also as far as going 180, I wouldn't do it. If you want an 80 roll, I'd still only go to 140. That extra 40mph is a HUGE difference. I personally wont go past 160 in any car. Past 150 cars start to handle much different. Your car could start to experience lift or a lot of down force. Plus it takes a hell of a lot more time to go from 80-180 then 40-140. Just not worth it, imho. You have to think to, your car wasn't made to go that fast. So I highly doubt that VW spent any time in a wind tunnel to see how the car is going to behave at those speeds.

how dark is your window tint and how much you drive that car?
LPFSTheFett replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Passing Lane
All my vehicles have 20% and no problems. I think it's one of those things that they will pull you over for if they need a reason to pull you over. So if your not driving around like an idiot or pulling out of a bar at 3am, you shouldn't have too many problems. Jason -
I like the hood fwiw. Mustangs are one of those cars I like with cowl hoods. You could probably cut it pretty easy by yourself, however I dont know how you'd attach the mesh.
-
Can't be worse then the traction I was getting at trails for the spring rental.
-
You don't want none! If I could actually hook first, I'd run ya.
-
You took it the wrong way, because it cost so much.

 Cop says he's gone like he sees shit like that everyday. Absolutely no compassion in his voice at all. I'd almost have to say audio was added to that video after the fact. I dont know how a person could see that and have that response.

Hell I think I'm going to need a sponser when the Z06 is done at IPS.
