  2. Welcome to the 1/8th mile club with the rest of us. It's what a few of us are doing anyway. Then do a glory pass at the end of the day.
  3. it's a tough call really. It really wouldn't be a show if they made them run heads up every race. You'd know who was going to win after the first race. Not sure if you saw the race where the guy losing refused to ask for lengths and lost his car. It makes for a more interesting show when they negotiate. Like this year, you'll be setting me out 10 cars in your RX7 and I'll still be happy when I beat you. Jason
  4. +1 on the show. Ford got the rights to Knight Rider, just like GM did with Transformers. Big difference is Ford execs aren't a bunch of idiots. GM didn't even have the Camaro out. If they had, every single one on the dealer lots would have been sold after that movie. I bet mustang sales got a boost if they turn this into a series. I thought some of the acting and line choices were really really bad. All things that will eventually get polished out with more shows if they do it.
  5. Brian and his Father are among the nicest business owners I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Their attention to detail is second to none. They certainly take their time and make sure they do things right!
  6. I wouldn't be so certain. I've been following the UFC for quite sometime and they do some really strange things. In my opinion they sway fights in the direction they want it to go. Like Brock Lesner(sp)'s first fight in the UFC was against Frank Mir. Brock had a great showing but look at how the fight played out. One slight hit towards the back of the head because Frank turned his head and they stoped the fight and deducted a point. I've NEVER seen them do that in a fight before, not after one hit, 20 seconds into the fight. I think the UFC will probably try to grab him, but only discredit him as a fighter, like they did with the police officer who did street fighting or any number of other fighters like Gracie, Vanderla Silva, and hell even the current light weight champ Rampage Jackson. With the exception of rampage none of these fighters got a UFC gimme fight to get used to fighting in the UFC and that atmosphere. Even Rampage after he won his gimme fight said he wanted a couple more before fighting for the title. Yet his next fight was for the title. Now I know Gracie has had years of experience in the ring, but he had been out of it for years and years also. To have his first fight against Matt Hughes. I just hope we see Brock again, he looked killer! The one thing Kimbo has going for him, is that he has an agent, something I haven't heard from any other fighters yet. This should make him a lot more money in the long run. Vs the UFC style where they own the fighters. It's crazy when you have the top grossing fighters like Chuck Liddell who don't even get 1mil a fight. Yet a completely washed up fighter like Tyson could take a fight tomrorow and get 20-30million for it lol. And it's certainly not because of ratings, it's because the way the UFC operates. Whoever owns it, is making a killing. The other thing the UFC does that drives me freaking nuts is when they have a really good fighter come into the UFC they give them a title shot on their 2nd fight. (Anderson Silva is a good example) Then turn around and make GSP fight for years to get another shot. And he CRUSHED everybodh he got in the cage with. Hell he was dominating Matt Hughest that first fight before he sliped up.
  7. Because by your thinking, anybody in a convertible running faster then a 13.50 is putting their life at risk. And I'm sorry, but 13.5's is slow!
  8. I like it when reporters state the obvious "This product has a lot of caffeine and when you add it to a caffeinated drink it is more potent"
  9. Do you frequent the drag strip more then the two CR Track rentals a year?
  10. I even looked into getting a 6 point cage and think I could get it done, but that only certifies me to 10.00. After that I need a 10 point cage and I'm not willing to do that.
  11. I think it depends on what brand/style it is. Like my lift was $2400 new and I want $1000 for it and it's only a couple years old. It's your standard 4 post drive on lift. So like RS69 said, there are deals out there on them, just have to find them.
  12. They are for the Z06. Got 18x13's in back so I can strap on a pair of 345 Drag Radials. I got the SP500's. I was torn between those and the SP550's but after getting the rims, I'm really happy with my choice. How much does chroming add to the weight of a wheel? I'd get them cleared, but then wouldn't I need to make sure they were flawless prior to the clear being added? Not like there is anything wrong w/ them, but I am really picky and dont want to see any polishing marks. Or do they handle that also?
  13. I understand the rules are there for a reason, I'm merely expressing that they need to relook at the rules as they relate to newer cars and newer technology. They changed the original 11.99 rule for a cage down to 11.49. Why? because safetey equipment itself has improved since that rule was made, not because that 1970 Chevelle I use to own got safer to take down the track.
  14. nope, no winter driving ever. I called wheelmedic and think I'm going to go that route. They ship them off to CA to get done, so I don't have to worry about it.
  15. I have a lift I'm selling, which I'm pretty sure is already spoken for. My question is, is there a company that can be contacted to take it down, move it to it's new location and put it back up?
  16. Just got a new set of CCW rims from IPS yesterday and want to go ahead and get them chromed instead of keeping the polished finish. I just think the polished finish will drive me nucking futs. I'd really perfer somewhere in columbus so I don't have to worry about shipping them. I want a good job done as well and don't want to have to worry about peeling. Thanks! Jason
  17. That's a good point and valid if I were racing a 1970's car. They didn't have the crash standards they do today back then. Cars today, atleast mine have roll over protection, crumple zones, front & side air bags, I'm not seeing myself risking my life. That and todays cars, at leasat mine, also were designed from the factory to go mid 11's. I can tell you the Corvette and Viper running 11.0's is a much safer ride then my 95 or 97 Firebird Formulas were running the same times/speeds. Goes down the track straighter, smoother, hugs the road better(i.e. no front end lift). Just all around a better car, but that's what you get with 10 years in technology advancement. There was a video I seen a year or so ago where I guy wrecked a Porshe going 170mph on the autobahn, after the car stoped he got right out. Then look at accidents that do happen at the track in cars running at the speeds I'm wanting to run 9.5's and up.. How many of those cars roll over? I think it's safer for me to run 9.5's with no roll cage then it was for me to drive to work yesterday. I can honestly say out of the 100 times I've went to the track, I've never seen a car wreck regardless of speed. That's not to say it can't happen obviously, it's just not this huge risk in my book. Lastly, My 95 Formula had a 10 point cage in it. I can tell you driving that car on the street was hell of a lot more of a threat. If I were to get into an accident, I could have easily hit my head on the front bar or side bars, or window net connection. I hated driving that car on the street for those reasons. First time I got in the car with the cage, I nearly cracked my head open. In short, I'm not worried about it. When I start doing my passes in this new setup if I feel it's unsafe, I simply wont do it. Will turn the boost down to a level that I feel comfortable at. On top of taking it slow and not trying to run a 8 second pass on my first run.
  18. I don't think there is anything that this guy could have been saying or doing to justify them dumping him onto the floor. Dude can't even move 90% of his body. I don't know what's worse, the person dumping him or none of the cops giving a shit after it happened. The one guy was laughing. It's really sad.
  19. no no... Vetts make um Wet. You should know that Brian!
  20. What Brandon said. I would have never changed my exhaust if it wasn't for the Twin Turbo already coming with it. I like the stock exhaust for the factory cut outs. lol
  21. Just run the 1/8th mile for most of the day, and then do your glory pass at the end.
  22. Yeah we plan on it, have to get the car done first. Everything is at IPS except the engine which is still being built. Probably have another couple weeks till the motor gets here though And thanks! Will sound a little different with the new exhaust. I hope it still screams!
  23. There are quite a few spots. Sounds like I'll be doing a lot of 1/8th mile runs this year. Trails is really strict too. I mean really strict. Last year they booted me on my first pass going 11.41.
