  1. Trust me I feel the same way, but the base model is only 32k'ish so thats reasonable I suppose.
  2. I took my wife with me Sunday to do the same thing. She wanted something with more power than her civic, awd, nav, and in pearl white. Surprisingly she was all about the Kia Stinger lol. She really liked the interior and all the options it came with. Fit her well, and needless to say I wasn't complaining about the performance aspect of her having it. I would most likely be the one driving when we are out and about anyway lol.
  3. That is a good looking truck there Steve, glws. I would be all over this if there was room in the stable for it right now.
  4. Yes there is. Not really worth the watch, your comment pretty much sums it up. There was also a post about taking the blame in full, and that they would not be discouraged to keep looking for a venue in the Columbus area to facilitate such an event. Then it goes on to mention that MCIR bailed them out so they could still race on the 31st as a no prep.
  5. I can understand that to a point Kerry but that would usually just result in a 'don't do that again' situation. The owner completely backed out of the lease. From a business standpoint, without any fines, or damage, why would they cut it loose the day before it began. The situation just seems really shady. Almost like they didn't tell the owner what their true intentions were. Or maybe it is a pride thing, either way it definitely puzzles the mind a bit as to what info is not being given as to what truly happened. But, they are still planning on having the no prep, grudge match. They have relocated it to La Rue on 3/31. I am curious if it will still be 1/8 mile or a proper 1/4 mile race given the track is 1/4 mile.

  7. I agree, that is the "story" they are feeding everyone to keep it quiet but why would the land lord really care about 1 day of testing for a video. It wasn't like they had a full race day a day early.
  8. ^^^ Agreed. There were a lot more personal cars there this year than what there have been in the past. Between the G/Z/GTR guys, Carlyle, The Gremlin group in the front hall and all the classics it was a cool turn out. I will be posting photo's of what I took soon as well.
  9. Looking good sir! aside from the cover bolt, I am glad it went smoothly for the tear down. Can't wait to see further progress.

  11. Well Jesse only time will tell lol. But if he's smart, he wont go out without his buddy. Maybe he has all the recovery stuff.
  12. That combo and a proper tune/timing should hit that with ease. Plus removing the factory smog, mechanical fan, etc, there will be less power loss. So were you didn't gain it, you are at least feeling it more lol.
  13. As long as the seals are goon the the stock rails, I would leave them. They will have plenty of flow for what you are gonna be doing.
  14. That is what I was thinking, front end work or not, if that is considered "not clean" then I want a rough fox body again lol.

  16. Nah the 5.0L vacuum lines aren't all that complicated for a late 80's/early 90's car thankfully. Most are the same size, and only run through the firewall for the controls. I would plumb the ones to the heater controls now while you have the block tore down since its easier to access.
  17. Looks good sir. Can't wait to see the progress you make with it
  18. It is looking good sir! Loving the progress. As mentioned, recovery equipment is always good to have. Bubba ropes are awesome! Just make sure when you're going out that simple things you think you wouldn't need you should bring. I would invest in a small shovel too. I have a small 4 foot flat shovel with a farmer's handle end, that has come in handy more ways than one. Also make sure you use some sort of weight mat for the winch if you are using a steel cable (even an old rubber floor mat draped over will work). Lastly make sure you take a fire extinguisher and always have a buddy to go wheeling with.
  19. I have always liked rail road spike knives. I know they are rather simple but still fun to make and very forgiving. Kudos to your first 'from scratch' Randy. It is looking awesome!
  20. Someone backed out on a vendor spot inside the venue. So instead of having to set up in the "hall" we are in the back corner of the main floor. If you wanna check it out, the group is the G/Z/GTR Club of Ohio. They should have a d.j. booth set up as well. I will most likely be heading down Thursday after work, maybe Saturday as well.
  21. One other thing to consider with the area, Marion/Marrow/North Delaware County Is mostly a big water table. So foundation issues are more common than say in Columbus. Usually a home with that going on in this area will be more expensive to repair, and more likely to continue to give issue in the future. So that is something to consider as well. A perfect example is my Aunt and Uncle's old home. They were in the North portion of Union County near the Honda plant. They have had issues with their basement wall 3 times even after repairing (steel beams, sealed, etc.) over the last 12 years. The last time the water pressure was so great it separated the water proof coating and made a blister like a big water bed.
  22. My wife and I were in the same shape when we bought ours. We were looking in the same area, and it really is tough as all the houses are farm or really run down turn of the century homes. I ended up setting on a house in Ashley. It is in town, but the wildlife preserve is a 5 min drive from the house if that. Shooting range is there, hunting, fishing, etc. so it worked out for us. It is still an older home (1894) however, the house was redone to update it. So it worked out in the end. Building is the way to go if you want a more modern home, but even stick built homes are gonna set you back quite a bit, plus you have to buy the lot/land and pay for the utilities to be run (if its not already done) so it adds up quickly. Where are you looking to stay price wise if you don't mind my asking? This is one that caught my eye last night as I was driving home. https://www.herrealtors.com/homes-for-sale/1946-State-Route-229-Ashley-OH-43003-236759838 It is well out of my budget but Is an awesome property. Right off the wildlife area on 229.
  23. Just remember when the foundation moves/buckles it causes other points of the house to flex, so there may be more to the damage than just repairing the foundation itself. I was considering a house out in Richwood that had the front corner of the foundation sinking. It ended up causing a crack up the entire side of the house and slant to the floor. Estimated foundation repair (slab style) was $30k but the other damage caused to the house was an additional $45K. Just make sure you know what you're getting into before you pull the trigger.
  24. Such a curse lol. But hey It could be worse, you could be the guy who has to make the chicken nuggets.
