  1. great thread. will read later today for further enjoyment. sounds like you couldn't keep up with him and his overrated 215hp.

    Craigslist

sounds about right for someone in lancaster. probably not even worth that brand new.
  3. bought a cheapo mossberg 88 12 guage shotgun, and ordered a 500, from fleet farm (they had a limited supply of shotguns). i'll probably wait a bit on handguns until i can research a bit more. thanks for all the info guys.
  4. you type as though english is not your first language. nothing wrong with that, it just hurts to read your posts. good luck with the cage
  5. the wife actually surprised me with the car, still can't believe it. she even got the right color, wheels, etc.
  6. don't worry about it. if there's any serious concern for premature labor, they will give her steroids to accelerate the baby's lung development. even at 34 weeks with no steroids, there would likely be absolutely no problem
  7. rofl. welcome to the site.
  8. rick is gone and hasn't come back. dare i say i miss arguing with him??
  9. my wife was on and off bedrest with our twins for the last 10 weeks--even had to be admitted a couple times. if she can even make it one more week, it will give the baby's lungs that much more time to develop (the most important thing at 34 weeks). good luck, and congrats
  10. yes, really. its nice to be noticed in your race car. anyone who doesn't enjoy being noticed should not be looking at either car. the c6z is the ultimate 'everyman's' race car, now that used ones can be had for reasonable prices. its the car that all others are measured against as far as performance goes. hit the gas and the car feels light as a feather. hit the brakes and the car stops immediately. the mods and tech support for the vette are just as robust as those for the gt500. sure, if you want to say you have 700-800rwhp (and be slower than a 600rwhp vette), then go with the shelby. that's if you're looking to mod the car--which i will admit the blower is easier to get more power out of. why not buy a 5.0 mustang with the big brake kit, upgraded wheels, and just put a whipple on it??
  11. you will get noticed in the vette---plain and simple. and parts aren't that pricey---$350 for 4 brand new discs all the way around, for example. corvetteforum has tons of technical support that rivals any ford site (modularfords.com, and svtperformance.com) that i frequent
  12. who patches a gas tank?? pictures of said rides, and some more info about yourself
  13. looks like there's only 3 lugs per wheel on the stang?? wtf. no one cares what the pipe bending machine looks like either. otherwise, welcome to the site.

    want

i need one of those to take my trash to the end of the driveway this winter
  15. thanks for all the info guys. the town i live in is extremely safe, but you never know. eventually, i'd like to get into hunting--but i'm sure that's an entirely different topic. for now, i'd just like to get something for added safety in the house. we have a home alarm, but i'm sick of the 3-4am comment from my wife "did you hear that noise downstairs?", and then walking through the house like a jackass looking for an intruder. some days i leave very early in the morning or am even gone at night, so it would be nice to have something that's easy to use/handle that my wife would be able to operate. right now i don't know anything about guns, have only fired a shotgun once. but i'm eager to learn. thanks again guys
  16. guys, i've just been given the slight go-ahead from the wife to get some home protection in order. what would you guys suggest for beginner's firearm(s)?? i would think a handgun and shotgun would be appropriate, as well as a gun safe in our bedroom?? trigger locks?? i would need the handgun to be small enough/easy enough for my wife to use it. obviously, we would likely go to a firearms safety course. and i have twin 3 year olds and a 16 month old in the house--that is my wife's primary concern with having guns around thanks kirk
  17. yep, that was the drive i was talking about---i remember it was about 9 minutes out of the 4th quarter.
  18. think back to when illinois beat us and we were ranked #1 at the time---i think it was 2007?? their quarterback ran it down our throats just like last night.
  19. saw it in person---yeah it sucked bigtime having all those people around you chant overrated, and taunt you from the opening kickoff to the final whistle. my wife almost got into a fight with some whale sitting in front of us. it was an unpleasant experience to say the least now i have to hear shit all week at work, the gym, etc.
  20. i put it on my car when i lived in tampa, specifically because it was so damn hot there. it works great. only downside is that the a/c was not as cool in the car, but not a huge difference. definitely worth getting---it even runs cooler with the stock heat exchanger than with an aftermarket one. you should be able to leave your a/c on at the track---mine will not leak condensation now, and the a/c pump shuts off at WOT. i permanently leave the a/c on
  21. that's why i've got a killer chiller on my car. basically a heat exchanger powered by the air conditioning that cools my intercooler fluid. even in the heat of summer, my intercooler fluid is 50-60 degrees. nothing beats rolling to the line at the strip with the air conditioning on max. keeps the inlet air temps around 110-120 at most, and usually under 100 while cruising. anyone who's driven a cobra knows how hard they pull when they're just warming up--this makes the car pull that hard even when you've been driving it for a while.

    New logical rant

don't have the time to be away from the wife and 3 kids when i can get away from work the most i could probably do is about 3 times a season it IS dangerous when you think about it, and i have responsibilities to my wife/kids don't feel like paying sky high rates for my disability and life insurance policies for answering 'yes' to the question 'do you race cars, etc etc'
  23. i'll have to find one that i saw before which was much more entertaining---these are all short and sweet.
  24. depends on how many times he's had to do things, and what he started with (stock new car, or modded car, etc). when i go automatic later this fall, i'll have around $45k in my cobra---that's $31k purchase price brand new in '04, and roughly $14k in mods (big blower, solid rear, automatic, and all the other shit plus tuning, etc.). that's not a ton, but i did all the work myself (except the solid rear/auto). if you look hard, you can find a 700rwhp big blower cobra with a built motor, just like the one on the video, for under $30k, that's been done correctly. that was over a year ago when i used to look a the classifieds on svtperformance--i'm sure the prices have gone down further
