wait till you can afford a low mileage cts-v. if you're looking for something with good winter driveability, a rwd car is probably not your answer. don't think they make cts's with awd, maybe i'm wrong?? i'd listen to the gm technician in this thread.

depends on what you need it for. are they just scanning your knee? is it your chest/abdomen/pelvis. do they have to do thin cuts, reconstructions?? kind of like asking a mechanic how much it will cost for 'engine work' on your car. the price can vary to a significant degree.

Mustang bodies mustangs in general late 90's+
kirks5oh replied to wnaplay1647545503's topic in Passing Lane
get something other than a mustang. i would agree that the v6 is a complete waste of time, and you will have difficulty finding a well-taken care of example. the v8 would be prohibitively expensive as far as insurance goes. -
cobra---getting an auto as we speak, maybe a cage, and some suspension work, and then hopefully track it. maybe some mods for the vette, maybe another high end car, we'll see.

welcome to the site. sweet rides. can't even imagine what a 300+ rwhp bike is like.

voltaren gel is what i prescribe. its not a 'pain killer' per se. its just a way to get an anti-inflammatory to the area. like giving topical ibuprofen right to the knee
-
i haven't seen the video yet, but its likely chondromalacia. surgery is an absolute last resort, and patients can get actually worse with a knee arthroscopy. you need to work on strengthening your inner quad, with 'short arc quad sets'. also, concentrate on stretching your hamstrings out, and avoid aggravating activities. i will usually prescribe physical therapy for this problem, as well as a topical anti-inflammatory, or a prescription for mobic. if p.t., medication, and avoiding activities does not improve the situation, then i do injections into the knee joint. MRI's are costly. i'd try what i mentioned above, and resort to the MRI if you're having problems with the knee giving out, or locking up.

let me help you out. did you have a recent injury?? does your knee give out/buckle while walking ON AN EVEN SURFACE?? is the pain on the front of your knee, or the inside of the knee??? do you have difficulty going up/down stairs, crouching, squatting, or getting up from a prolonged seated position?? is the pain a dull, throbbing pain that hurts more as the day goes by, or is it a periodic, sharp pain that can happen at any time?? your family doctor should be able to order an MRI. that way you will know if you have a torn meniscus (which always needs surgery, by the way), or if you simply have chondromalacia patella (google it), which is what 75% of the younger patients i see have, when they complain of chronic knee pain not related to an injury. my advice is to take the ibuprofen as prescribed, answer my above questions, avoid stairs, squats, lunges, knee extensions, stairmasters, etc etc. concentrate on an elliptical machine, or swimming for exercise. and by the way, most VA docs are completely incompetent--they are government employess, afterall. that's a 'sneak-peek' at the future with obama care.

i'm very concerned that you won't like the interior

careful with that wing on low overpasses. good looking car otherwise.
-
nobody goes under anesthesia with pants on dumbass. sorry, they are responsible for the car either way

my buddy has one of those---absolutely loves it. tows his boat with it, etc etc. i must say, it is a very comfortable ride.

if you're looking for a spine surgeon, you will do no better than rob gewirtz (spelling?). one of the most talented surgeon's i've ever worked with. he does spine surgery, brain tumors, etc etc. he is absolutely slick in the operating room---pretty sure he works at riverside. as a bonus, he is an avid road racer. don't expect much bedside manner---his is not good. but if you're looking at brain surgery/spine surgery, you need a good surgeon---not someone who will 'hack you up' but is very nice.
-
he's looking for a neurologist, not a neurosurgeon^^^^ two completely different professions. i went to school with a guy named gregg figg----pretty sure he works at OSU or riverside. very bright guy, and extremely personable. he'd get my recommendation.

anyone who'd pay $30+k for either car needs their head examined. why trade one headache for another. people who are fed up with highly modified cars (and i wouldn't blame them, especially if they've been through hell and back with the car), should NOT be looking at another highly modified car. duh.

$37k for a 5 year old mitsubishi? am i missing something, like where he says $20k cash is in the trunk and included with the car?? keep the cobra.

the floor was coated by a company that basically does factory floors. i live in wisconsin, so you'll have to find a place in columbus. its roughly $3 per square foot, and they warranty it for 10 years of 'normal' usage, whatever that means. i don't have a scratch on it yet

i've used agape shipping twice---its a broker---they contract out other companies to ship. both times i had no issues. one time it was a guy with a 5th wheel style trailer on his dually truck. the other time it was a dealer-style carrier that held about 10 cars. cost me about $500 from cleveland to florida, and $550 from florida to wisconsin. cars are on an open trailer and will get dirty. if you want something better, i had my cobra and GTO shipped from florida to wisconsin by 'horseless carriage'. fully enclosed, 'white glove' treatment. i was actually a bit embarassed to see my hick-mobiles loaded into a truck carrying a brand new 911, amg benz, and ferrari california. cost is double what the other company was, but if you want an enclosed trailer, they have nothing but good reviews. i looked at intercity lines, and a couple others, but they wouldn't go to where i needed to go in wisconsin.

thanks guys. i wish i did more with the garage, but sadly i just don't have the time. looking to do some major work to my '85 in the next year, so hopefully i'll get a 'project' thread going. also going to put a catback on my buddy's S5 this week. other than that, the lift mainly gets used for oil changes. looking to get a projector and my satellite tv in there for next football season.

here are some shots with everything finished, before i got the lift. with the lift, the garage will fit 7 cars, still with plenty of room to watch tv in the recliner. garage is wired for speakers in all 4 corners. http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/1016/dsc01154yj.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/1534/dsc01133br.jpg http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6039/dsc01159o.jpg http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/457/dsc01071ie.jpg here's the compressor in the back room--i still need to get it plumbed to the lift, but its plumbed to two retractable hose reels on the ceiling. the back room has shelving for storage, and access to the attic, which is fairly big--and is located above the 12' ceiling where the lift is located. http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/1306/dsc01150f.jpg the lift is a bendpak 4post lift--its the entry level 9000lb capacity storage lift--no reason for me to get anything fancier. with the 12' ceiling, i can lift any of my cars to the highest setting with room to spare. did an oil change on our explorer and had plenty of room to walk uner the car. http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/4963/dsc01297.jpg http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3084/dsc01296sr.jpg if i could change anything about the garage it would be the following-- i'd add water, and a bathroom, especially if i start to do more work in the garage, and may do that this summer. with well water, it won't be easy. possibly make the door wider, or add a second door--doesn't bother me, but it would be easier not to have to angle the cars in as much.

this is the way the garage looked when we moved in last april--the place was a mess, oil stains all over the floor and the walls/etc were all a complete mess. every outlet had to be changed out from being stained black. the floor was shot blasted, and professionally done like a factory floor. even after a year, there's not a mark on it. it wasn't cheap--$3/square foot. the ceiling in the back of the shop is 12' high, and in the center of the shop its 20'. the separate room in the back of the shop is where the compressor and all chemicals are stored. http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/9767/dsc00922gf.jpg http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1175/dsc00923u.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/796/dsc00932hr.jpg http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4223/dsc00907jf.jpg

i love my detached garage--big enough to do anything i want. i could literally build an upstairs apartment if i wanted, but it has more than enough room right now. the building is roughly 36' X 60'. i've got a separate 200 amp breaker box, and actually a second meter--we get two electric bills every month--wtf. plenty of 240 outlets. the garage is plumbed for compressed air hoses in the ceiling. the compressor is in a separate room in the back (which i highly recommend)--that room also houses lawn stuff, and other things like gas/chemicals that you don't want in your living quarters. the door is 12' wide and 12' high. the ceiling is 20' in the center. garage has a 4 post lift, professionally finished floor that is warrantied for 10 years. let me know if you want any info. my garage also has a phone line, internet connection, flatscreen, xbox, separate office up front, huge gas heater, etc, etc. all that, and i don't have time to even work on cars anymore. pics to follow if your interested. only thing it doesnt have is running water, which i will probably add this summer

welcome to the site, great intro

just don't drive the car in the rain, and cover the motor with a few towels when you wash it. i've been lucky and not had the alternator take a dump, but i only have 19k miles on my car. i've had my vents open for 5 years---as soon as the car was pullied. if your car has a bigger crank pulley, the alternator is more likely to go, as its being overspun---unless someone has also changed the alternator pully to a bigger one.

my wife asked me about 3 months ago if i'd ever wear a rolex (my previous fossil watch broke). i said 'no'. she bought me a citizen watch--still nice, i'm not one for jewelry. got some nice clothes from nordstroms. and i guess you could consider the automatic for my cobra a christmas gift.
