  1. lots of different answers/options. slicks/skinnies/gutted/large cage, is not a street car imo. the ability to drive 30-40 miles and then run. 11.XX and faster, or traps above 120mph. like others have said, a car that looks like a high 12's car but runs 11's. right now, i think there's a significant difference between a car that will run 12's and one that will hit 11's. many stock cars will hit 12's with a decent driver right off the showroom floor. not many stock cars will hit 11's, unless some mods have been done.
  2. i have an aftermarket heat exchanger. the system would work better with a stock exchanger, but i just don't want to take the time to put the stocker back on. when you run a stock a/c system, you get condensation that drips onto the pavement---that stopped after my killer chiller install. so i leave the a/c on at all times. car pulls like a raped ape no matter how long you've been out driving it. i would probably benefit from a lower temp thermostat, but i've not changed it out
  3. i've got one on my '04 cobra---i run the a/c on regular mode constantly---even in the cold weather. the a/c shuts off at wot, so i never ever turn it off. the interior a/c isn't quite as cold, but who gives a shit. i ran the a/c at the track. because of the extra load on the system, no condensation forms, so there's no leakage for me at the track. my inlet air temps are usually below 100 at all times---no heatsoak, like driving a fresh car constantly. well worth it
  4. have you figured out the vibration at idle issue??
  5. no, i'm happy with things (in my career) the way they are right now. money is great---i just know they already have a 10 year plan where they've (obama) already outlined a 5% decrease in the reimbursement for medicare patients. private insurance companies will surely follow suit. what you will see is physicians soon refusing to honor medicare---it will royally fuck over the elderly population, but it is what it is. honestly, i love my vette, even though i've only driven it 800miles
  6. who said i can't afford two zr1's? the argument will never end. you can chuckle all you want. have a beer on me.
  7. honestly, it just takes hard work and long-term vision. i'm not any more intelligent than the average joe. i busted my ass in college and put the time in, going to class every day, studying my ass off, and was lucky enough to have parents who were able to pay for my college. med school is more work---just putting the time in, reading, and more reading. then residency (3-6 years) is where you have to work long hours, being paid not well, considering the time you put in. long-term vision means you're willing to put your life on hold for 4 years college, 4 years med school, and in my case 6 years of residency---that's 10 years after college, racking up student loans, when all your buddies who majored in business are out making decent money. so far its been worth it. great job satisfaction, and a good living so far--but most people could do it.
  8. cemented hips do horrible---that's not a recall, its the design---cement doesn't work for hips nearly as well as uncemented---i've never cemented a hip replacement. and even under the absolute best circumstances, up to 5% of revision hip replacements get infected--nothing we can do about that, its the patient's immune system. and when they get infected, you get a hip spacer for 3-12 months--it sucks. sure, the doctor could be much more compassionate about the situation and explain it better. we will need many more physicians in the future, and its not nearly as favorable of a field to go into anymore.
  9. so you have a steady job, congratulations.
  10. hey, i think i was able to find a picture of your car, and i must admit---looks great. welcome to the site. http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/2803/catfishx.jpg
  11. there's still no cure for genital herpes. sorry.
  12. fun trip for sure. i'd love to do something like this. in n out is a good burger. i like swenson's better (up in canton/akron ohio). 5 guys is right behind in and out burgers. nazifornia is a great place to visit---horrible place to live. my cousin lives there--they just break even when you take into account the crazy prices of real estate, and everything else there--sucks.
  13. the technology has advanced more than you could imagine, my friend. patient expectations have driven technology advances beyond belief. the average hospital stay after a total knee/hip replacement (what i do, for example) 15 years ago was a 7-10 days. most of my patients are out of the hospital in 2 days, with incisions half as long, joints that will last 50% longer, and surgery without cutting the muscle. you're nuts if you think doctors were better 15 years ago. the field has become ultra-specialized to meet much higher standards if you're looking for a physician to spend 2 hours in the office holding your hand, telling you its o.k. to be fat and diabetic, you won't find one---my condolences--that is one thing physicians did a lot of in the 80's/90's
  14. you're clueless dude. physicians have made less money every year since the 80's---no physician is overpaid. the government prevents physicians from being paid for their inventions, prevents drug companies from providing any benefits for physicians (such as stipends to go to teaching courses/etc.), and just basically gets in the way of what we try to do. insurance companies hold reimbursement for 30+ days (while earning interest on that money), while everyone in congress (composed mostly of ex-lawyers) won't limit frivelous law suits against doctors. i didn't go into the field only for the money, but i also want to, and deserve to be paid well. i'd be happy to be paid the exact amount that i'm getting right now, in the future---but i know it will decrease steadily over the years because america just does not take care of their physicians.
  15. we've had arguments in the past because (like an average 2 year old) you think health care is a given right, and that physicians should be there to serve people who have no means to pay for any of their own health care. you'd pay physicians less and less---which in turn, lowers the standards for admission into medical school, and brings you doctors who are completely incompetent. would you provide a service on a regular basis for free?? all the while under the pressure of knowing that if anything goes wrong, the person you provide the service to is just 'itching' to sue you?? i make plenty of money, i'm arguing for the big-city pediatricians, and general practitioners who barely break $115k/year you didn't say anything bad other than your implication that i was dragging IPS through the mud by mentioning their name in this thread (hence my response). this is romper room--if people can't tolerate a bit of sarcasm here, tough shit.
  16. +1 he got all kinds of bad advice. being exposed to other pro athletes like lebron did not help. he wanted what they had, and was extremely inpatient, like most 18 year olds are. when it comes down to it, bad advice or good advice---stealing, mugging, and threatening people with guns is your own choice, and we treat adults as adults---which means you go to prison. to think if he would have stayed all 4 years in college what that would have meant to osu, as well as maurice. truly sad, when you go back and look at how awesome that season really was--i was in my fourth year of grad school at osu, went to just about all the home games, it was incredible. he'll never get that back.
  17. is the owner named fred flintstone, by chance?? welcome to the site.
  18. don't get your vagina dislocated. look at my post, it was clearly sarcastic. my post in no way was meant as criticism towards IPS. hell, if i lived anywhere near columbus, i'd consider a h/c/i package for my z-06 from them. my post was aimed at black mess, and the rampant complaining he did a while back about the work that was done to his car. i was giving him a hard time, and he responded clearly acknowledging the meaning of my post. maybe you should re-read the post. my local car forum in milwaukee isn't quite as much fun as this forum, so i think i'll stay here as long as i'm welcome. at some point in the future, i might move back as well. carry on.
  19. because you're all tensed-up, waiting for a deer to come out of nowhere and get exploded. these pranks work much better when the video makes you look for something small, or very subtle in the video--then boom.
  20. make a thread in romper room, and get a romper room response regards
  21. thank god you got the car away from ips. now there's no excuse if it blows up?? or is there someone else to blame.
  22. ever since 9-11 masterbating on an airplane is generally frowned upon. thanks alot bin laden.
  23. sweep em into the woods for me. all my trees are at the edge of the woods
  24. best way to get weight out of the car is to drill holes in the frame. don't know if they make the killer chiller for the GT500, but that made a huge difference for my cobra.
