  1. my buddy has had his S5 for a while and loves it. i'd vote for either the S5, 335xi, or the ISF if you're looking for a sedan that will likely stay completely stock, and receive daily driver treatment. personally, i'd be too tempted to mod the turbo car
  2. just like we compared the '96 4.6 liter mod motor to the old 5.0--it is what it is, new shit gets compared to tried-and-true things. obviously, the 4.6 got better, much, much better--and i'd expect the new 5.0 to get better with time. hell, anyone can slap a power adder onto a motor and make power for a dyno run. they put a turbo kit on top of a cobra blower, and made over 1000rwhp on a completely stock cobra bottom end. the car had a catback, and fuel mods, as well as a new clutch. i'd be impressed if this car lived at that power for any amount of time. either way, i love the new 5.0's and would/will likely trade my GTO in for one this summer, we'll see. edit----just checked in the 'pics' section of svtperformance, and this was the first thread i saw http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/pics-videos-buffet-149/736228-twin-turbo-supercharged-03-cobra-1096whp-1045trq.html
  3. one of my partners has a v8 s5. the car turns a lot of heads, and sounds fantastic. its awd and he plans on driving it all winter up here in wisconsin. even the spare wheels with the snow tires look good. smoked him in my stock GTO though. still, a great looking car with good fit/finish/styling. good choice if you're going to leave it stock, as there's not much to do with performance mods
  4. lincoln had marfan's syndrome. one punch to the chest and he would have died
  5. Love the wheels on that car. Great shots
  6. 590rwhp, full weight, IRS car on nittos. like i said, novice driving--no shame in admitting that. plenty have run 10's with my exact set-up. having the right person behind the wheel means everything. congrats on the mach1 times, sucks you had to get rid of the car. now i have a built solid rear, and will have an automatic in the car, as well as 15" wheels with a taller, better tire, and better suspension. and hopefully, more seat time to improve launching/etc. here's one run from bradenton---pardon my wife's horrible filming, she was 8 months pregnant with our 3rd kid and it was 85 degrees out, and she doesn't much care for car racing
  7. rofl. a properly setup turbo cobra with an auto is just plain nasty. it would be difficult to match the performance with a 6 speed. if its a quicker car he's after, than the auto is the way to go.
  8. with an auto and good rear end, the car should run 10's all day long on low boost. my car made the exact same power, and i had the stock IRS, stock clutch/tranny/etc, and ran 11.4 at 128mph at fun ford weekend in bradenton. my skills as a dragracer are completely novice. of course, the track prep was phenomenal, but it was hot florida weather. with an auto, sticky tires, and a solid rear, i'm shooting for easy 10's, and his car should do the same once he gets it dialed in. turning up the boost for 700rwhp, his car should run much better, and should be capable of 9's with time (even with the current motor). i wouldn't add much more than the auto, and some suspension if it hasn't already been done--then just concentrate on driving the thing.
  9. i'd rock that. still itching for an lsx swapped car like this or an rx7
  10. ben this is a great introduction. i'm digging your car. welcome to the site.
  11. rofl at this awesomeness. honestly, it seems like you've joined the site just to sell your car, which i'm not even going to bother to look at since others have stated it looks like junk, and pictures that are grossly oversized will only give me a headache after my 15 hour day of work.
  12. not digging the wheels, but the car looks great. you can find any car you want with the right money, and you'd be amazed at what some people on this site could potentially buy.
  13. pm sent. the bones in the midfoot, actually don't have a ton of movement. you may not even be aware that there's any decreased movement. if the current foot pain causes a limp, that may lead to abnormal wear in other joints of the foot/ankle/or even the knee. surgery is a difficult decision to make, but is one that will reliably decrease your pain.
  14. you should be able to push an otherwise stock cobra motor with better pistons well into the 700's with little worry. if you're after more than that, well, yes, you'll need a bigger motor with heads/cam--but that's also asking for more headaches if you ask me--much, much bigger headaches in a car you've been contemplating selling for a while due to these headaches. if you do anything else it should be an auto, and then take it to the track and run some low 10's.
  15. that's who we're using. my builder has had great results with them. of course, nothing is usually waranteed with these types of things, but they are very reasonable if something does break
  16. my car will still see tons of street driving, so i like an overdrive. we ordered a fully built auto from tci. i also spent tons of time deciding whether to go with a full manual valve body, or with a computer shifted auto. my builder has had great experience using a mach 1 computer, and that's the way i will go. not sure which converter we will go with yet.
  17. enjoy the car as it sits, or go auto. why do a rebuild?? my car is going in for a built 4r70w in a couple weeks, as i plan on racing this car next year. a good automatic should be your next modification---especially if (like me) you can't drive a stick good enough. unfortunately, i won't be able to tell you how i like it until next spring.
  18. i'm not very refined. my cobra has over 500rwtq from 1500rpms on up, and 575 at the peak. but i fully understand what you mean---nothing drives like a positive displacement blower---instantaneous torque, and gobs of it. plenty of guys have turboed their cobras, only to switch back to the blower, or sell the car because they miss the instant response of the blower. cobra is going for a built automatic in a few weeks.
  19. rofl for anyone who'd be dumb enough to pay $28k+ labor for a motor belonging to a $30k car. i'd love one of these as a daily, so we'll see. congrats on the new ride

    kill stories?

wow, cool fucking story. you beat a car who's owner is too poor to even paint it. probably a bone stock or exhaust-only 20 year old car, with the obligatory monster tach. likely 195rwhp in a 3300lb car. "what do you want, a junior g-man badge?" -al pacino in Heat
  21. i remember when i weighed 135lbs. i think it was my sophomore year in high school.
  22. 'fucking loser' pretty much sums it up. i'd think an unwritten rule on a car enthusiast web site would be not to fuck with another man's car---unless its completely harmless and in good taste. am i getting this right: the original poster --moved a car off the street/driveway using logs underneath the car --drew a dick on the car that had to be buffed out --allowed the car to be towed/impounded --didn't pay the owner a single dime to make amends unbelievable
