  2. need better pics of the gf to give proper advice. yeah, i'd be getting out of there right now
  3. at least the jack looks very stout, and seems to work very well. the jackstands are puny--i'll probably only use them if i have to put one of my kids' power wheels up on jack stands. i will still look into the craftsman specials that you post up. these 'through sockets' seem pretty nice though. i just can't justify more expensive tools as i farm out more and more of my car work.
  4. "wear a rubber, man" --drew office space i'd run through that slag. definitely not someone to take home to meet grandma and the parentals

    kobalt tools

so, i'm through with craftsman---bought the jack/jackstand/creeper special that killjoy listed a few weeks ago and found "made in china" proudly stamped all over everything. fuck that. so, i've decided to go with kobalt. just bought the 'through ratchet' socket set that comes with 1/4",3/8", and 1/2" sockets--looks sharp and came with its own carrying case. i've heard kobalt tools are made by the same company as snap-on. any truth to this?? i also saw a big kobalt tool chest that comes with a built-in frige and a stereo as well. thoughts anyone??
  6. i love dogs, and i'm sorry to hear this--but a cop wouldn't shoot a dog in a public area unless it was necessary. they're trained--they know how unsafe it can be to discharge a firearm in a public area. i guarantee the cop was thinking of the consequences when he shot the dog, and it was deemed necessary.
  7. i can't see the pictures at work, but i like your attitude, and you have your priorities in check +rep
  8. probably quite a few of them running around as the car is an economy jap car that is meant to last forever.
  9. and this is why obama's healthcare plan won't work. you have a family member who knows a nurse look at it--that person said it 'just' looks infected, and told you to put a bandaid and neosporin on it?? you realize that EVERY staph infection starts out looking just like that?? people act like a staph infection (MRSA is a form of a staph infection, and is becoming extremely common in the community) initially looks different from any old infection--that is wrong. one of the main goals of obama's healthcare plan is primary prevention---regular check-ups and aggressive treatment of problems at their earliest stage will prevent costly surgeries and hospitalizations. you're a prime example of why his plan will fail horribly. think of it this way:: routine maintainence (oil changes, fluid changes, timing belt, etc) of your car will prevent costly repairs due to neglect. you're driving around right now with the 'check engine light on', and just assuming that it will go away on its own. trip to the dr. a few days ago, would have gotten you a prescription for antibiotics, and this would have easily taken care of the problem. now, you're risking a surgical procedure and a 3 day hospitalization for IV antibiotics when you develop an abscess. by the way, i used to operate on every one of these abscesses in the emergency department under a local anesthetic--so did everyone else i worked with, so that's what you have to look forward to. good luck, i've officially washed my hands clean of this.
  10. rofl "who the fuck still uses a payphone?" --i lost it with that one

    stress - ulcers?

one of the most common signs of gastrointestinal reflux is a persistent cough, or a feeling of an 'itch' in your throat, inability to clear your throat. the prilosec should help (it will take at least 3-4 weeks of regular usage, so be patient). reflux can usually be managed with lifestyle changes (that have been mentioned), but you will need prilosec for a few months until those changes can take effect.

    stress - ulcers?

some good advice here. stay away from alcohol and caffeine. eat smaller meals. don't eat or drink anything after 7pm. limit carbonated beverages. while you're waiting for these changes to have an effect, go to sam's and buy a large supply of prilosec.
  16. seems a bit pricey for that car, depending on the options. they can be had all day long brand new for less than $70k with the 3lz package (navi, heated seats, hud, etc). i've seen 1lz versions brand new for as low as $63-64k
  17. i came close to buying this one a while ago http://www.v8rx7forum.com/cars-sale/52066-1993-rx-7-ls1-c-p-s-mint-swap.html
  18. i'm not sure the man card even made the move from columbus to florida, let alone from florida to wisconsin.
  19. i lurk around a fair amount on v8rx7forum
  20. i practically do the surgery for free as it is. mr. obama gets about half my money as it is.
  21. its starting to get cold up here, so no talk of a new sports cars until spring. i'm not exactly hurting for cars at the moment, or modding my cars. i'll be looking come spring.
  22. i'd buy the shortblock, bore it 0.020 over, and get some good pistons in there. reuse the rods, with new rod bolts, and you're good for 700rwhp all day long with no heat expansion problems with the pistons. as stated, these motors were all hand-built. some have issues with piston to wall clearance, some don't. some have even blown motors completely stock, with back to back high speed highway runs (prolonged boost---high temps). ford went with tight clearance on purpose to avoid piston slap on cold starts. like i said, i would definitely bore it, and get some better slugs in there. the rods/crank/block can handle 800 hp without a sweat. get some rod bolts and you're golden.
  23. damn i want one of these cars--wife says no. she would actually let me buy a new vette over one of these.
  24. sorry if i'm not up on my legal terminology. i guess i'll never be able to give much 'expert testimony' in court. i get extra credit for being fucking awesome--that is all.
  25. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! an attack on my grammar. that's it, i'm calling plymale & associates to file a lawsuit against you for online internet, car forum slander.
