  1. in the 10 years i've been working in the hospital operating on people with traumatic injuries, i've treated two people (the result of one crash) that had injuries as a result of street racing--couple illegals rammed their riced out import into a senior citizen's car on broad street while racing. i lost track of how many people i've treated as a result of injuries susained while driving drunk, or drunks hitting innocent drivers. there's clearly a bigger picture out there. if the cops want to save more lives, and protect the public in a more effective manner, they should be staked out in the back parking lot of every bar nabbing drunks before they get behind the wheel
  2. who cares. its an lsx with a turbo. if its making anything less than 550rwhp, i'd be embarrassed. assume it has north of 600rwhp.
  3. i'm reading 'the day after roswell' boring as shit book, but it explains a lot of what went on at the time--from one guy's perspective
  4. 6 cars here wife + 2 kids--soon to be 3 monster life insurance policy renter's insurance on our rental house in florida and no accidents ever (knock on wood). no real claims on health insurance other than childbirth yeah, i pay quite a bit per year
  5. for some reason, that one big tailpipe shooting out the back reminds me of the exhaust on a schoolbus. welcome, we're currently experiencing an f-body shortage on this site.
  6. i see inlet air temps around 90-110 even in the florida heat/humidity with 18 psi. killer chiller for the win. my air conditioning has an extra heat exchanger to cool my intercooler fluid. my intercooler fluid is cold to the touch--probably 50-60 degrees at all times, and i can make passes at the strip with the a/c on if i want. i run 17 degrees timing
  7. +1 my wife is a 'junkie' when it comes to this show, and all of the above appears to be true. i can't stand to watch the show, and go out to our living room to watch repo man, when this show is on. jon gets beat-down constantly by that controlling bitch. the show needs to end if there's any chance of their marriage working out. $75k/show---41 episodes last year alone--over 3 million. that crazy bitch charges $20 per autograph, $3k per hour to speak, and $125 per person to eat lunch with her--all the while, poor jon is elbow-deep in diaper shit and barf
  8. my brother came to visit this weekend, and we shot a couple real quick vids of my '85 stang on the way to five guys burgers & fries. i haven't driven my '87 in almost a year, but my brother confirms that the '85 feels faster. enjoy
  9. my '85 has 52k original miles--true story. welcome
  10. cobra can handle more power than the vette, and make it much easier and cheaper (assuming you don't just throw a 200 shot at the vette)
  11. good to hear. most likely one of my old colleagues helped in her care--they have a great surgical program at that hospital
  12. forged steel crank forged manley rods forged pistons iron block only weak point in the bottom end are the pistons are just a bit too big for the bores to prevent piston slap with cold starts----high heat (back to back 40-140 highway roll races) will cause the pistons to expand and score the bores.
  13. modularfords.com is your friend, as is svtperformance.com these things can handle 600rwhp all day long, and be dead reliable. i've had the bigger blower on my car for almost 3 years with zero issues--zero. i have the stock tranny, stock clutch, and virtually stock rearend--just springs, an IRS brace, and subframes. honestly can't believe that the stock clutch has lived at nearly 600rwhp for almost 3 years. if you want to be serious about launching at the strip, then you'll need to upgrade the IRS, or go solid rear. you'll also have to add an aftermarket clutch, and tranny input shaft. but the bottom end is strong enough to let you go deep into the 10's
  14. my back seat is gone. cobras can be completely nasty and still maintain unbelievable street manners. you can take these cars to 550rwhp and have stock headers, 4 stock cat converters, stock cams/heads/lower intake, stock clutch/tranny/rearend, working A/C, and a glass smooth idle. when i had the stock cats on my car it was so quiet--even if you knew what an '03/04 cobra was, you'd never know it had that kind of power.
  15. many of the '03's had/have spark blow out issues. the boost-a-pump should not be a problem at that level. with upgraded wiring to my boost-a-pump, and stock fuel pumps, as well as upgraded hosing inside the tank (60lb injectors, and stock fuel lines/rails) my car saw 615 rwhp on the aggressive tune, and my fuel system was not maxxed out.
  16. hope everything turns out o.k. brian. keep us updated
  17. mainly to keep in touch with the local car scene. now that i've moved out of columbus, i guess i still feel like i'm part of the community. entertainment, knowledge, and some stress relief. no one that i work with is a gearhead, and i spend quite a bit of time at work--i need this release.
  18. looks great. sorry you have to sell. depending on what type of surgery you need, i may be able to give you some advice. feel free to shoot me a pm. car looks fantastic. be sure to post it up on the svt site kirk
  19. welcome. i like the wheels on the car.
  20. torque monster. i miss the way my ported eaton sounded. i made 505rwhp with a semi-aggressive tune on a ported eaton with only an upper pulley, catback, and intake--still had all 4 stock cats. good work brian
  21. car looks great. i must say i'll be looking for a set of wheels like this in the future after seeing how they set these cars off
  22. if he didn't die right there on the field, he's probably o.k. not to scare you too much, but a baseball to the chest can, and has been known to kill people. google "commotio cordis" spelling?? basically, a shot to the chest can impart enough energy to throw off the electrical rhythm of the heart, causing it to go haywire (fibrillate). defibrillator will usually fix the situation, but people don't usually have the presence of mind to get an AED even if there's one by the diamond. glad to hear he's o.k. though
  23. +rep for the dyno graph. made me laugh
