  1. i'm at 590rwhp with 17psi blower. my passenger side breather feeds directly into the intake tract (completely stock), and the driver's side (PCV) hosing goes to an oil collection can, and then into a vacuum fitting on the back of the blower (in the stock location). the only problem i've ever had was when i replaced the PCV valve, with one that was slightly smaller, and it kept getting blown out of its fitting. once i got a little bigger one, it fits just fine, and i haven't had any problems with this.
  2. very nice muscle car. welcome
  3. i understand, but the public perception will be irreparably damaged. you wouldn't make a major purchase (that will need future service/parts/etc) from a company that was 'filing for bankruptcy' (no matter what your definition of that is), when you could get a comparable product from another company that is thriving. i don't think GM has clearly stated how/if they will honor warranties on new cars if everything goes south--just lots of speculation. why anyone would buy a new pontiac for anywhere near full price right now is completely beyond me. lots of speculation, i know. i'm a hardcore american car buyer--won't buy anything else--but i must admit even i'm hesitant to pull the trigger on a GM, even though there's no other new car that would possibly fit my needs
  4. i know. but in the next 6 months/year, while everyone's waiting to see exactly what will happen, GM and all the dealerships who sell GM's still have to be able to sell cars---you can't just tell everyone to hold on for a year while GM gets their shit together, they still have to move cars off the lots--hopefully at lower prices
  5. regardless, people who are truly on the fence as to buy a GM or not, would be nuts to buy a GM product at the current prices given the questionable future in terms of warranty/parts/service that is a fact that should drive the prices down a bit. i'm fairly stuck, as i need a giant SUV (denali XL) with 3 rows and sufficient storage behind the 3rd row for luggage/dog. our exploder isn't big enough and ford is done making the excursion (ugly as fuck btw). its got to be either suburban/denali/escalade--no other company makes a new, comparable product. that, and i'd love a vette

    hey

welcome. love the stripes on the car. how do you like the kooks longtubes?? i keep tossing the idea around of going with longtubes/cam great looking car
  9. interesting. i remember when these cars came out---there was nothing like them. 220hp or whatever they had was absolutely unheard of at the time from such a small car. i can remember reading a sales brochure and being in disbelief of the amount of power that could come from such a small motor/car. maybe that seems odd, but i always wanted one. good luck with the sale

  11. i'd go after the rest of the money now, or still burn the house down--i fucking hate scammers more than anything in the world. next time you're at work, realize you're working to make back the $500 that those assholes are using to sip umbrella drinks with. that should be motivation enough to go after your money any way possible

    new ls1

figured 'mexico' was some sort of joke, i guess not. i'm guessing you haven't been told that columbus is actually in ohio, and not new mexico?? either way, we already have 3 guys here from new mexico named vince who drive (slow) fbodies---sorry, maybe next year??
  13. i'll let you know in a few short months
  14. nothing wrong with cruising in an '03/04 cobra--great ride quality, no need for longtubes or a big nasty cam to make power. the car idles like it was stock, and no one would ever suspect you've got nearly 700 at the crank. 500-600 rwhp and these cars are completely reliable as long as you don't plan on beating the absolute piss out of it on a daily basis. like i said, dial it back to a pulleyed car and you'll beat up on c5z's all day long, while maintaining complete reliability. whatever you do, don't sell it immediately with your emotions running hot right now--get a clear head, weigh all your options, and go from there
  15. maybe the third times a charm?? just as long as he doesn't post any pics in hal's "post pics of yourself" thread.
  16. +1000 i'm in the market for a few vehicles at the end of the summer once i get moved and settled in
  17. + a huge 1 for the GTP's. i absolutely loved my old grand prix, and it wasn't even a GTP.
  18. mike was in the 11's at the track day when i was there last spring. i know, because he beat my car (12.04 is what i ran) with my old ported blower, and roughly 90 rwhp less. first time at the track ftl for me. second time at the track here in florida with no changes on the car and hotter weather, i was knocking down 11.5's at 125-127mph--much more in my car with more practice, better tires, and a 'ballsier' launch
  19. ignore the car for a bit, let things settle if the motor is popped. sell the turbo kit and buy a remanufactured motor----they're cheap, and many, many guys from modularfords run them with twinscrews up to 700rwhp--its a complete cobra motor with all the forged internals. slap a pullied eaton on the car, and chill. i'll sell you my whipple for cheap this coming winter when i buy a mammoth--590rwhp with complete reliability, etc. etc. turbo cobras seem to be headaches from what i've read. again, hopefully its nothing big---but i'd go with a remanufactured motor if you're looking for a cheap (but completely adequate) way out.
  20. great intro. welcome to the site
  21. stock clutch here. can't decide whether to upgrade the tranny/clutch, or just go automatic. nice times for your guys' mods.
  22. hood actually looks good on that car. lose the mirrors though
