  1. good save. in your 2xx hp car. both my GTO and my cobra have nittos, and i've not experienced the same problem that you have in the rain, although i don't drive the cobra in the rain at all--just been stuck in the rain a few times. i guess if they had cones on the freeway, you would have been just fine. our explorer has 235hp (maybe more than your stang, who knows), and my wife seems to have no problems controlling it merging on to the freeway. thread backfire
  2. i'm moving all my shit again in 2 months by myself again. i could pay for movers, but with moving 4 cars, i'd rather save the money. you'd be absolutely amazed how easy stairs can be managed with a quality appliance dolley. i have a cheap one from harbor freight, and it works wonders. i can move just about anything by myself with zero assistance---dressers, armours, washer dryer, etc. etc. i don't have any steps, but honestly with one person's help you should be fine. one more option that would be easy and cheap::: go to uhaul.com and look into renting a uhaul truck. they will ask you if you need boxes, dolleys, padding, as well as loading/unloading help. you could hire a company to help you load the uhaul, and then do the unloading at your new place by yourself
  3. shouldn't be any problem in a near-stock stang with decent tires. i have absolutely no worries driving my GTO in the rain occasionally.
  4. +1 sorry for your loss. vets have a more difficult job for the very reason listed above. the dog may not have even had a back problem to begin with---could have been anything. you can't expect a vet to diagnose every problem every time--its just not possible. animals and humans' bodies don't read textbooks--in other words, a specific disease can manifest itself in a wide variety of ways, causing the diagnosis to be difficult to nail down immediately. hell, the dog could have had an allergic reaction to one of the medications--these allergies don't always occur immediately. there are 1000 different possibilities. to sue would be ridiculous imo. unless you're fairly confident that the vet acted recklessly, and outside the norm of what is generally expected given that situation, then you don't have a case. many times, the treatment has risks associated with it as well, and you can't predict how every dog/animal/human will react to a given treatment. also, depending on where the shot was administered, there is an ACCEPTIBLE level of risk with doing these shots--in other words, due to possible anomalies/differences in animal anatomy, 98% of the time the shot goes where it should, and 2% of the time it may hit a vital structure that is not normally there (but due to differences in anatomy, happens to be there in this specific dog). in conclusion, i'm very sorry for your loss, but i don't think the doctor knowingly killed your dog. let your emotions calm down a bit before you go so aggressive.
  5. welcome to the site. best intro in a long time.
  6. welcome to the site jay
  7. i'd take one for a daily. 4 doors to fit my kids instead of my GTO which only has 2. i wouldn't give up my GTO though. saw a couple on ebay, pretty cheap. i went to visit my parents in cleveland this weekend and saw my grandfather driving my beat down old 160k mile '90 grand prix, and honestly missed the car
  8. "more than you can afford pal..........ferrari"
  9. i'm here to help. welcome to the site.
  10. you DO realize that 1/4 of 1200 hp is 300hp, and not 4xxrwhp?? 11's with 300fwhp is impressive. 11's with a 4xxrwhp z is pretty much what is expected out of an average driver. good luck with your internship. i'd probably start you out with simple addition and subtraction problems before moving on to multiplication and division.
  11. in general: dilaudid/morphine>oxycontin>percocet/oxycodone>vicodin/lortab/norco/hydrocodone (all the same drug)>darvocet>tylenol#3>tylenol/motrin/alleve/etc percocet typically comes in 5/325mg that means 5mg of the narcotic component and 325mg of tylenol built in to the drug--that's why they tell you not to take tylenol in addition to percocet or lortab/vicodin--it will be too much tylenol (acetominophen) for your liver. percocet can come in 7.5/325mg, and rarely 10/325mg lortab typically comes in 5/500mg (500mg of tylenol), but can come in 7.5/325 and 10/325mg tablets oxycontin is pretty much a long acting form of percocet--meant to last 12 hours--it comes in multiple mg increments from 10mg up. i typically won't prescribe anything stronger than percocet except in rare circumstances.
  12. dear joel, clean car. check out the market section on our forum, there's a group buy on trailer hitches. it will bolt right up to your car and allow you to pull things with all that LSjuan torque--like a 'double wide' for example. welcome to the site. regards, kirk
  13. no indication for a nerve block this far out from the injury--we do them at the end of surgery (for simple ankle fractures, or elective foot surgery), but not when you have tons of swelling, because injecting anesthetic fluid in that area will only make the swelling worse. i typically will give people percocet (oxycodone is the generic name--exact same medication) for 6-8 weeks after this type of injury--after that, you have to force yourself to get off of them--its brutal, but its in your best interest. you can get hooked on these easier than you think--it sneeks up on you--6-8 weeks is the absolut longest time i will prescribe them for this type of injury, and for just about any major surgery. keep plugging away--this is going to be a 6 month deal, that will slowly get better--obviously, you are through the hardest part.
  14. no problem. its easy to go too far with a car. some days i'd love to throw a nasty cam and longtubes on my GTO--i have the means to do so tomorrow, if i wanted. but i enjoy being able to start the car and immediately drive it every time. no stalling issues, no question as to whether i'll have an electrical issue, or if the car is going to run hot that day, or whether myself or passengers will get a headache riding in the car on a long trip. the suspension is not too harsh, not too loud, etc. the GTO is the only hot rod i have that my wife will ride in, let alone drive if we're out and i just don't want to drive home. sometimes 400 hp is enough. my car laid down 375rwhp which is plenty for a daily driver that is as reliable as when it rolled off the factory line
  15. looks perfect. no signs of infection at all. making good progress. expect that foot to be swollen for months---months
  16. lightly mod it. catback/intake/tune to start. then longtubes and a mild cam if that's not enough for you. i drive my GTO every other day, and enjoy keeping it close to stock. i enjoy going out with my cobra to trounce on other cars on the street, but still have a car that is fast (GTO) that my wife will still ride in, and drive if i drink too much when we go out. once you get past a certain point with a car, it becomes unreliable, and not fun for carefree driving.
  17. you could get a new c6 vette for that price. nuts. like stated above--day late and a dollar short for GM just think you can buy one of these, have it die within 50 miles, and then put it up on cinder blocks in your front yard just like old times
  18. welcome, awating pics
  19. everytime this guy gets himself unbanned, he ends up getting tore up on this forum--i can't stop laughing at the twinkie picture--just realized there's a bite taken out of it
  20. twinkie picture is perhaps one of the best i've seen on this forum.
  21. probably bullitt wheels or 10th anniv cobra wheels. or just be lazy and throw my factory '04 cobra wheels on it
