  1. stock clutch is still working like a charm. what people don't realize about these cars is how heavy the damn stock clutch is----48lbs of foot pressure vs. 28lbs for the stock GT500 twin disc clutch. my '85 clutch is easy compared to the cobra, and the GTO clutch is like nothing. most aftermarket cobra clutches also have a huge decrease in pedal effort. every time i get this car on the road (once a week for an hour or so) i get it up over 100mph at some point. no burnouts though unless i'm at the track--that's what has saved my clutch. almost 18k on the clock thanks for the comments guys
  2. they sound great too. upcoming mods---solid rear for cobra. independent rear will go from the cobra to the '85. i'd love to make the '85 a road race car. i'm going to live about 30 minutes from one of the great road tracks in the US when i move to wisconsin--i have to have at least one road race car.
  3. seems like it would be a human microwave. cool, but not for me
  4. you can see it in the background. at least it gets the garage with the cobra. GTO sits outside for now until i move and get more garage space
  5. pleasantly surprised with the camera. i need simple. we had an olympus with 15 different bullshit settings (even had one for food--wft?). we didn't have it set on the highest resolution, etc. etc. basically, my brother came down to florida to visit and said our camera sucks. with a new kid on the way, i decided to get a decent camera that was simple to use.
  6. just got a new camera, and i decided to take a few shots. camera is nothing special--just a sony 12.1 megapixel cybershot--$200. just on the generic "green camera"--tard setting http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/4555/dsc00016t.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/7292/dsc00029l.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/9432/dsc00025wqa.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/3985/dsc00036uqc.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/3426/dsc00037m.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/5677/dsc00014frv.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/9987/dsc00023ypg.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4109/dsc00024lke.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7371/dsc00033itf.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/6420/dsc00015zzk.jpg
  7. pictures don't work for me. that might be a good thing. you need to give us more info if you want to go anywhere here
  8. i take it this happened a little while ago, and not just a few days ago?? you'll need more than a month off for a fractured ankle. it takes 9 weeks for braking time and strength to return to normal for even the simplest ankle fracture. let alone your other injuries. otherwise, welcome to the site.
  9. hocking hills requires a two night stay--at least that's what my brother reported. he was looking to go there for a night this weekend to celebrate his anniversary
  10. ironically, you're very correct. those cars are not cars that should be on the street--they belong in a car crusher.
  11. congrats, my wife is ready to go next tuesday--only one baby this time. multiples can be a challenge, but the reward is awesome.
  12. show me an exotic that runs 7's, 8's, or even 9's consistently, and can be driven anywhere without breaking down. its a fine line between what's considered a street car, and a race car that can be driven on the street at times. you don't need a/c, power anything, cruise control, radio, or any creature comforts in a street car. but if it stalls every time it slows to a stop, overheats at stoplights, runs open headers, and is fully tubbed with giant slicks on it, then its not a street car---period.
  13. welcome to the site. don't think we have a ram like that on here.
  14. my GTO gets an average of 19.5 mpg, with mixed city/highway driving, and some reasonably hard driving. i can get 25mpg on the freeway if i stay at 70mph. since this car has the same motor, and is a bit heavier, you can probably expect just a bit less mpg--probably 18mpg average give or take
  15. welcome. love the G8. wish my GTO was a G8--i need 4 doors. i migh be interested in trading up for a G8 GXP
  16. you need a euro style license plate. welcome
  17. gayest thread ever. for me, a street car is one that can be driven an hour to the track if the need be, race, and then be driven home. one that is not constantly on jack stands. a car that does not require a tune-up every time it is driven. a car that will not be pulled over every time a cop sees you. anything that runs 8's or 7's is not a 'street car'. yes, it can be driven on the street, but that does not make it a 'street car'. this argument will never end.
  18. decisions. can you say, pulley/intake/tune, and 650hp??
  19. are you sure there's no type of manipulation or adjustment you can do to fix the driveway??? surely, there must be some type of homeopathic solution. j/k that sucks, and yes he is absolutely responsible for this.
  20. good looking clean car. welcome
