  1. coldest spot on a man's body?? his balls: they're two below a patient told me that one a few weeks ago
  2. inland, i bet those prices are pretty close. for lakefront lots, most lots are 2 acres or more--the house we're renting has 1.9 acres. lakefront prices are unfortunately not cheap--the neighborhood our lot is in has 12 lots--only 3 are not on the lake--they are about 6 acres each, and significantly cheaper than the other 9. its not 100% worth it to me (i like the water, but maybe not that much), but oh well--in this area, you don't build a big house unless its on the water, and the two other guys i'm working with have houses on the lake.
  3. the house we're renting has a 3 car garage--one space will be occupied by the wife's next SUV. one stall has some of the owner's stuff in it ( jet ski/ATV--he agreed to let me store it in the building). that leaves one stall for my car, as the other will have lawn stuff and kids toys in it. when we build a house on this lot, i plan on two garages facing one another. one will have kids' stuff/daily drivers, the other will have my other cars, and will hopefully hold 6 cars with room for tools/benches/etc.. we'll see, i have some time to think about designs, and talk with a builder
  4. the housing market has taken a hit--which helped me get this much of a deal on the house we're renting. land prices have not gone down too much, so we're still paying a fair amount on the empty lot
  5. i'm moving at the very end of july. let me know when you're going to be up there
  6. for the forseeable future, yes. i will still have family there and make it back occasionally
  7. stairs are o.k. the house we're renting has protected shorelines (part of some conservation land) and the houses still have stairs. i don't think our shoreline is protected though, so there should be no regulations on the stairs
  8. sorry, we already have a guy named david who drives a black hatch on here. coincidentally, he's just as dumb as you are.
  9. the hill is at least 50 feet high, maybe more. i didn't have a chance to walk down to the beach, but its at least 50 feet. i'm almost certain the lake freezes up all the way to the shore--didn't even think about sledding but i'm sure it will be possible if i cleared out some rocks. pretty steep too.
  10. this is hopefully the last move. we knew all along that we were only going to be in tampa for one year, so it was hard to get settled here when we knew we were leaving so soon. this time, i'm shipping my cars (instead of towing them behind UHAULs), and i'm only taking one uhaul truck.
  11. thanks hal. let me know if you need to see someone about your knee. girls are getting active (19 months old), and the wife is expecting in june--a son this time. this was the latest her dr. would let her fly on a plane. i felt bad for my wife this weekend--but she wouldn't trust me to find a place to live without her approval--i can't blame her--we looked at two houses to rent, and i looked at 3 storage places
  12. there are 12 lots. 8 lots are sold, and there's one house that is completed. i believe two other houses are breaking ground this summer. we would break ground most likely in the summer of 2010.
  13. i plan on it. hopefully i will have some changes made to my cobra over the long winter.
  14. went to sign all the final paperwork on my new job in wisconsin. also found a house to rent for a year or so while we wait to build on the lot pictured below--we're closing on this lot in about two months. just over 5 acres http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/421/p1021500.jpg pontiac vibe gt rental actually wasn't too bad. my girls didn't make it too far onto the lot http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3414/p1021499.jpg view of the street from the edge of the bluff--you can barely see our rental. my driveway will double as an 1/8th mile track http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4580/p1021502.jpg about a 50 foot bluff down to the lake (lake michigan) http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2876/p1021505.jpg we'll have about 315 feet of "beach", if you could call it that http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/668/p1021506.jpg best part about the trip was that i found an industrial storage shop to store some of my cars it---looks like it will fit 4 cars very easily, and tons of workbenches, parts, tools, etc. has electrical, wash basin, and a huge gas powered heater. still have to work out the details on that, but its a huge weight off my shoulders (yeah, my priorities are a bit f'd up). that and we found a great house to rent that is right on the lake as well---we basically asked this guy half of what he wanted and after a bit of negotiating, he accepted. one more shot http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/1733/p1021504.jpg never thought i'd be so anxious to get out of tampa (3 months to go), but i'm ready to move on and start my career--and finally making what i should.
  15. motor looks blown up in the second picture---fyi my brother's nickname is coop welcome
  16. saw an old lady driving a 4th gen the other day. at least i thought i did----i guess i was fooled by the mullet
  17. new mustangs are incredible---interior, fit, finish, styling, etc. etc. just wish they had much more power. kind of like having everything you want on your plate, but no fucking steak. don't see myself buying a new mustang in the forseable future.
  18. wound vacs ftw. they have changed the way we deal with injuries like yours. before wound vacs, we'd take patients back to surgery every couple days. you're probably looking at one more surgery at least to try to partially or completely close the wound once the swelling goes down--and a skin graft if it doesn't come together--so maybe two much smaller surgeries. the skin graft (if necessary) will be completely healed LONG before you're putting any weight on that leg so don't worry.
  19. never heard of a vacuum pump, and none of the big hp terminator guys are running one to my knowledge

    Omlettes..

paul's pantry on 5th and grandview ave. best omelettes in columbus if you ask me--true story
  21. i'd still get $500 back----either cash or collateral (front door of the house/etc.). fuck, it was a scam all the way, no question.
  22. when you get discharged, get copies of the x-rays (before, and after the surgery), since you might need them in the future if you go anywhere outside of riverside. like i said, i'll tell you straight-up what you're up against, and help get you to the best surgeons in columbus if you need more work done or a second opinion/etc. whatever you do, follow the physician's directions to a 't', as far as keeping your weight off of your foot/etc. this will be part of the medical record for the worker's comp. people to see, and it will not be good if they determine you didn't follow directions--aside from the fact everything can fall apart if you put weight on your foot too early. good luck--there's always a solution/fix no matter what
  23. usually for severe crush injuries we have to do fasciotomies (cut the foot open in 5 places to prevent muscle death from severe swelling)---sounds like you didn't have to have that, which is good. not to make light of the situation, but it might not be as bad as you think. either way, if you want to post up quality pics of your x-rays (either before and/or after your surgery), i'll give you an honest opinion of what your prognosis is. unfortunately, many times the damage to the soft tissue is more extensive and harder to predict recovery, than the damage to the bones. either way, if you end up getting arthritis and chronic pain in all the small joints in your foot, the good news is that you can fuse all those joints without much consequence (as far as function goes), and it takes care of most of the pain. i'm sure your surgeon at riverside might refer you to a foot and ankle specialist if you need further surgery---i know a couple good ones around the city if you need a name or two. you'll most likely be off that foot completely for 3 months, and then start bearing weight slowly after that. let me know if you need help/advice--i can tell you what you're up against
  24. great episode. was sad to see phil sit it out. no doubt he'll make it back onto that ship before the season's over
