  1. welcome to the site brad. i can't see the pics at work, but it sounds like you have a stout car. great introduction.
  2. dude, you're 16. you live in your dad's house, and don't pay a single dime for anything. you live in grove city. i'm fairly certain you're not in any position (and neither is your dad) to critique anyone's financial situation in this thread. make a proper introduction and stop being a whiny bitch. or move along.
  3. good looking car, welcome to the site
  4. sounds great. how did you fit those massive tires on your car?
  5. no badass here. just sounds like he's here to sell shit. this isn't craigslist. people will routinely let shitty intro's slide, because everyone knows the person. this intro is just too shitty. so fuck off.
  6. the people are dumb as shit. sure, its a choice---a very dumb one. didn't look like the redneck at the end of the video was holding up enough money to rebuild any of the cars racing, if they were a complete loss. add to that the risk of being injured---no thanks. life is full of decisions at every turn--wiser decision in that scenario would be to trailer your car (unless you have nothing to lose). some people decide to go out and run their car to the limit with wet road conditions. some decide to finance a laptop by one of their friends. some decide to spend their tax return on a broken down race car when they just had to sell everything to afford another child. i will admit the video is entertaining though
  7. this is the best advice. everyone wants a hot-rod for their first car. there's nothing more miserable then having to repair your car because you need transportation the next day---fast cars break down all the time. usually because most people can only afford a well-used example, when they purchase their first car. get a reliable daily, and then make the fun car a non-daily driver.
  8. well known surgeons train other orthopedic surgeons who want to be at the top of a certain field. its called a fellowship, and they typically train 1-2 surgeons every year---who then go on to work all over the country. the fellowship is not a necessary part of training. its something above and beyond, that allows you to master a particular facet of orthopedic surgery. i did a fellowship in tampa in hip/knee replacements with the developer of the 'gender-specific' knee replacement. these guys live like rockstars--its nuts.
  9. late 90's, early 2000's sentra. good gas mileage, cheap to insure, and tough to speed with/get tickets, and will last a while
  10. bombach has retired. he's a good guy though, and is definitely a car fanatic. lol at jim andrews. they smear his name all over the tv when you watch nfl games like he's the absolute best. if only you knew HE was not actually the one doing the majority of your surgery--its the fellow in the last year of their training. sure, he might be scrubbed in, and directly supervising, but he's not doing most of the work. either way, feel free to go to him (and pay out the ass) just so you can say you had it done by the best surgeon. kind of like saying i had my oil changed by the best mechanic in the world and paid $5k for the oil change.
  11. +1000. i've worked with many of the knee surgeons in columbus, and he is probably the best all-around surgeon in the city for knee problems, especially those in 20-40 year olds. knee problems come in all varieties. you don't want the guy who specializes in knee replacements doing your acl tear. here's a breakdown of the better knee specialists in the city traumatic knee injuries (major fractures)---bruce french (grant) pediatric knee injuries/problems (under 16 years old)---kevin klingele (children's) sports related knee injuries (18-40 year olds)--bob steensen (mt. carmel) knee arthritis (50+ year olds)--joel politi, adolph lombardi, keith berend, brian chambers, bob steensen--all at mt carmel.
  12. sucks for sure. ironic thread, one of my good buddies just had his house burn to the ground friday night. woke up at 2am to smoke detectors, and half his house was on fire. he got the wife, 3 kids, dog, and his cars/motorcycle/tractor out of the garage but the house is a complete loss. hard to imagine all your shit gone in an instant---clothes, furniture, computers, photos, jewelry, etc. at least everyone is safe. its a wake-up call for me to make sure my insurance is up to par. his house (nice sized lake house) was insured for twice its value, so he should have no problem financially. all the stuff that could be saved (mostly stuff in the basement) was taken out by an insurance disaster team to be cataloged, and cleaned. we simply removed all the firearms, ammunition, jewelry, and personal paperwork that the insurance company won't take. was like walking through a warzone---we were there 16 hours later, and there was water dripping from everywhere. much of the water on the outside of the house was freezing up into ice. definitely sad, but not as bad as it could have been.
  13. we have a pressure tank, pre-filter, water softener, and carbon filter. add to that a second hot water tank, and continuous loop system so the water in the hot pipes is constantly hot. finally, our water is where i want it---but it took us a lot to get there. the previous owner had a cheapo filter, and absolute junk softener.
  14. welcome to the site josh. not a bad introduction. car looks pretty decent---i'm not an import guy, but i see no rice in the pics you've posted. good luck with the car, enjoy the site
  15. here's the advice---don't buy house with septic/well systems. i live fairly close to our 'city' (small town), yet we have septic system and well water. we just bought the house exactly one year ago, and have had the same problem the original poster had. in the end, it turned out to be our septic system that needed drained. we also get the smell if one of our drains is not used regularly----well, since i don't take baths, our big tub in the master bath doesn't get used often, nor the basement sink/shower, spare bath, bar sink, etc.---these will potentially smell up the place if we don't run water through them every couple weeks or so. our house was built in 2002, and we originally had a reservoir tank, that would supply water to the house from the well---at roughly 60psi---which didn't seem like enough pressure to me. once the reservoir tank emptied, the water would get re-pumped into the tank, and the pressure would go up briefly. since i can't fucking stand well water, we've had to retrofit a system to apply a constant water pressure (the pump constantly runs) to the water lines. also had to buy a carbon filter, and replace the shitty 'home depot' brand water softener. add to that a water filter to prevent all the shit from our well water clogging up all the mesh screens on our sinks/showers/etc, and you can see what a pain in the ass well water can be. never again will i live in a well water house.
  16. sure, i've been in tough spots before. maybe not as tough as the original poster, but i guess i'm just extremely lucky----right?? either way, douchebag original poster essentially took out a loan for a computer---what appears to be a 0% interest loan funded by a friend. he was unable to pay off the loan to the agreed terms. then he wants to beat the hell out of his 'buddy' for repeatedly asking him for the money?? are you fucking kidding me?? if you buy a car from the dealership and don't pay it off to the agreed terms---they repo the fucking car, and you get pepper sprayed/tazed if you try to stop them. you don't get to beat the shit out of the salesperson/dealership because they're bothering you for payment. roy should have never made this thread. the last thing he needs to be doing is bitching about it on the fucking internet. go out and shovel some god damned driveways to pay off the $50. no sympathy from me, or anyone else here--and its largely due to his flawed thought process--not the fact he's in a tough spot.
  17. i wouldn't publicly admit that i couldn't afford to pay someone $50 for a laptop that they bought for me. you should truly be embarassed to be creating a thread such as this. seriously?? this guy bought a computer through his work, but with his 'work money'---was kind enough to give you the computer with the understanding that you'd pay him back when your obama bailout money came. and now that you realize you can't pay him, you're going to kick his ass for repeatedly asking you for the money?? shocks me that people who breath the same air as i, can be so utterly fucking retarded.
  18. dear moderators, please kill me. sincerely yours, this stupid fucking thread.
  19. lol, dotson's already driven car 120miles
  20. 94/95 cobras are not too common. as stated, they have slightly better flowing heads and cam, better intake, and throttle body. if you're keeping the car stock, and find a clean cobra at low cost, probably worth it. they were advertised at 235 hp if i recall, but most should make at least 285 at the flywheel. if you just like that body style, get a mustang GT as stated, because you will have a much larger selection and the car will be much cheaper. avoid '96-98 mustang GT's, unless they've received heads/cam--these were the slowest stangs since '84. '96-'98 cobras, on the other hand, are completely different--they feature a high revving (for the time) 4.6 liter, DOHC motor with 305hp. blown cobras were only offered from '03-04.
  21. i'd gladly pay the larger monthy bill for good insurance with small copays. like andy stated, one big health bill can set you back financially in a huge way. we don't have that option at my current job and it sucks. with 3 small kids, we hit the deductible ($2500) within a couple months---one e.r. bill, and you're halfway there. kids get ear infections, strep, etc. my advice is to pay as much up front monthly, and not worry about paying huge copays/deductibles when your kid gets sick. all kids get sick, and they get you, and everyone else in the house sick. either way, get insurance asap. good luck

    women...

don't trust anything that can bleed for 7 days straight and not die. duh.
  23. guy i worked with a few years ago has a ferrari. they would go to 'ferrari parties' at other peoples' houses. funny as hell to here him bitch about $10-20k tune-ups/etc. favorite part about the video is where the guy filming asks the owner if its his favorite model ferrari, and then disagrees with him. and yes, i'd be pissed if that was my car
