  1. imagine sourcing a new mustang v6 motor/trans combo will be more expensive than a used LSX motor/6spd combo, and will make much less power. not that power is everything, but the LSX swap is your best bet imo
  2. find a 17 year old who's looking for a honda b18 cylinder head. tell him if he beats the shit out of the other 17 year old, you'll give him the head for free. i don't recommend getting revenge, but that's what i would do.
  3. can't be chad. i heard his shop was in sunberry--not the location mentioned by the original poster. anyways, good luck with your search.
  4. i got my GTO before these came out, and regret not waiting for the G8. if you need 4 doors, this is the way to go.
  5. welcome to the thunderdome
  6. welcome to the site. any chance you could tell me how to circumsize a west virginian?? no seriously, welcome to the site
  7. sorry to hear. good luck with everything.
  8. congrats. much better winter choice. there are 3 of these in my town---they drive them 'hard' all winter long.

great thread. all the makings of a jerry springer episode.
  10. and then i rode in my buddy's V8 S5 about a month ago after we installed a catback system on it. don't get me wrong, i still love the GTO, but it felt like driving a tractor compared to the S5, even though the GTO was clearly much faster. for the money though, you can't beat them. they can cruise all day long at 80mph on the freeway under 2000rpms, and can be made just about as fast as you'd like.
  11. i'd rather have a nice house and a condo in florida/carolinas, as opposed to building a custom 'dream house'
  12. trust me, there wouldn't be a ton of interest earned on the REIT in your scenario. i originally planned on working for a year, and then putting at least 20% down on our house---but i had just started my job, and my wife couldn't wait to get out of the house we had been renting for 8 months--it was miserable with 3 kids.
  13. 0% to me, means there's no reason to pay it off any sooner than the 5 years, the loan is slated for. i fully understand that you either get the car for cheaper and get a standard loan (or pay cash), or you get 0% and they jack the price up just a bit---but thanks for explaining that to me. i could have paid cash for either of my cars, but preferred puting that money towards the house, and savings
  14. i love my gto but not sure i'd drive it in the winter. the stock tires suck ass, but you probably won't be able to find one still with the stock tires. i might be selling mine sometime this spring/summer. its a catback/intake/shifter/dyno tuned manual LS2 car with 26k miles still a great car. i averaged 27mpg on the way home from chicago
  15. rofl. everybody's a financial expert. i paid less than $5k interest, total, on a $170k loan. i don't see why you wouldn't want to pay off your highest interest rate loans first. since both my car loans are 0%, and my school loans are 2.3%, it only makes sense to pay off the house first.
  16. i refuse to give a shit about his car if he can't post more info about it. so, yeah, wtf is a polara?
  17. i'll have my house paid off within 2 years hopefully. awesome, considering we bought the house less than a year ago, and only put down 5%. we had to get 2 mortgages to get a loan with all the irresponsible bastards out there. paid off the first mortgage a few months ago---there's no penalty for paying ours off early. we also had quite a bit of remodeling done, with new appliances, granite, gutted bath, new siding, etc etc. i won't say how much interest we paid over the year we've owned the house, but yes, it is depressing. all the more reason to pay it off sooner
  18. would consider used CTSV, M5, or E63 AMG---all 1-2 yrs old at most. would be getting rid of the GTO. my girls love the GTO, so i need to fit 3 kids in the backseat, and obviously, it has to be fast.
  19. +1 cop is probably on some law enforcement forum right now bragging about how he trolled your ass. you really should get your big-shot lawyer and sue him, sue the city, sue the country too. .....or you could pay the ticket, learn your lesson, and move along. no reason not to wear your seatbelt at all times. an injury means you cannot play racquetball. there's no reason not to have a license plate on the front bumper of a ford exploder. not like its a fucking ferrari or anything.
  20. damn, all these pro athletes getting in trouble with the law. wonder if his nike contract will be at risk with this. good rule of thumb is to answer any question a police officer asks, unless you have something to hide. if you act like an ass, they will treat you like an ass. why challenge him when he asks why you're in mt gilead?? there's no reason to do that. sure, you're irritated you got pulled over---guess what?? don't have a license plate in the front windshield like a piece of trash would. put your seatbelt on as soon as the car is started. if you dress like a thug (white, black, asian, mexican, indian, purple, blue, striped, whatever) you will be 'profiled'---don't like it?? i'm sure niketown has some nice golf khaki's that will make you look like you're not in mt. gilead to score dope. have a nice day
  21. orly??? i have not seen this, but would pay that money for a lightly used ctsv
  22. this. if a spine surgeon can't help you they will send you back to your pcp, or to a chiro.
