  1. teamilluminata.com has Spec Miata rims from Team Dynamics. They also have some sweet old-school replica rims from BRAID. But they're really pricey. As for rim weight, Grassroots Motorsports did a test recently showing that rim weight has much less effect on the car than you'd think. (maybe 0.1sec on an AutoX course with 4lbs per rim increase) The key is tire weight; a couple lbs per tire was good for 0.5 sec over the same course.
  2. Too much tire = Muffintop Too little tire = Hip bones Recommended minimum rim width for a 335 is 11.5"
  3. Polished lips: :dumb: Go for B. Or better yet, find something in an 11"-12" rim and stuff some 315s or bigger under those rear fenders. EDIT: in all seriousness, american muscle = 5-spoke to me. So CCW SP550
  4. DVI (the big white video output on your pc) and HDMI (the thin plug about 3/4" wide) on your TV are interchangeable. Best Buy sells a DVI-HDMI cable. Then just get a mini-plug to RCA audio cable for sound.
  5. The apex seals are at the tips of the triangular rotor and seal the three chambers.
  6. Dammit, and I just bought the ambulance. If I had known that Randy Savage was going to stop the Rapture, I would have held out for this.
  7. This guy does. http://www.wimp.com/trainingbars/ Some of the stuff he does is unbelievable.
  8. Lies! Macs don't get viruses. Their commercials say so. :gabe:
  9. Some day I'm going to go out there. Living so close, there's no excuse not to go.
  10. You can't have a grill within 10 feet of a flammable structure. If it's beyond 10 feet from the building, you're fine.
  11. This gets me, but also families that add to the overpopulation problem by having more than 2 kids.
  12. Your Google-fu is weak. http://www.mybackyardplans.com/
  13. That ITR didn't have a prayer. I wonder what the camera car was.
  14. Care and feeding questions: (1991 E-350 7.3L Diesel, non-turbo) 1. If I pull into a McD's and run in to grab lunch to go, should I leave it running? 2. Pulled the air filter out (PITA) and discovered that the dealership changed it already. But I noticed the intake that the filter can sits on (throttle body?) is very oily. Should I clean that? If so, what should I use? 3. Fuel filter is impossible to get at. Partially because of the extra wire harnesses for all the ambulance stuff. Should that filter come off with my fingers, or should I need a strap wrench? Also, when reinstalling the filter, should I use a strap wrench to put it back on, or spin it on like an oil filter? 4. Belts are LOOSE and there's no good way to tighten them. There's a pump on both sides of the engine. I assume one is power steering, what's the other? Fuel pump? And which one is on the driver's side? Is there a trick to tightening the belt for the driver's side pump? 5. Not quite a diesel question, but: I haven't worked on a truck like this before. Can I replace the shocks with it sitting on the suspension, or do I need the suspension to be at full droop? Thanks again.
  15. I had no idea they were this far along. http://www.wimp.com/featherflight/ That test pilot has balls the size of planets. If that had failed, I have no idea how he could have regained control.
  16. ..but a lap in an F1 car? http://www.wimp.com/slideguitar/
  17. Funny. Though I still prefer Bitchin' Kitchen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH-U_0SZ3MM
  18. I'm not going to whore out my tow vehicle for your fetishes. :gabe: Frankly, it's one funky looking filter. Designed like an oil filter but the bottom is completely open. I have some stuff I need to do before the next RallyX event in two weeks, I'll see if I can get to the filter from the top. I also need to check out the air filter too.
  19. Hmm, now that I'm trying, I can't remember if it was surging forward or losing speed. But I could definitely feel it as I drove. No tach means I can't compare speed with rpm. I should probably drain the transmission and refill it with a healthy dose of slip-fix. I should. But damn if it isn't buried. Maybe I can get to it from the cabin, but I don't think I could get my hand in there to change it.
  20. Yup. 1991 7.3 in an E-350. Non-turbo, either 200K or 300K on the chassis (and I'd assume the engine). Transmission appears to be a 4-speed.
  21. I've noticed some surging while driving Tug. If I try to maintain a steady speed, sometimes I'll feel the engine surge up and down about once a second. I don't have a tach, so I'm not sure if it's engine or transmission related. Is this surging something related to diesel engines? Or does it sound more like a transmission issue? It seemed to get a little worse when I was towing, but it still did it when I wasn't.
  22. It might also be time to pull the stickers off Jr and paint him black. I might go with "Speed Holes Rally"
  23. I've heard about that one. Definitely a great platform for a tailgate vehicle too. Mine has an offset hitch receiver on the rear step. I think I might get a hitch mounted grill.
