  1. Yeah, nevada has the ===='s out on Schutt, Dodson and Pittman from this weekend. Posted that last page. :gabe: And it looks really, really good for the #1 DE in the country, Noah Spence. Urban. Fickell and Vrabel doing an in-home on Friday and will watch him in his playoff game. Then Spence comes to Columbus for his official over the weekend and won't visit anywhere else before announcing his decision at the Under Armor All-American game.
  2. Pat Dooley (Gainesville Sun writer who was very close to Urban at UF) says he wouldn't be surprised to see Everett Withers named Urban's DC within the week. Currently the interim HC at UNC, their DC for the last few years. Has NFL experience with the Titans in the early 00's. His defense at UNC in 2009 was very, very good (6th in the country in total defense) and would have been in contention for the best defense in the country in 2010 had it not been for their scandal.
  3. Yeah, I was shocked at the announcement of suspensions. I didn't really look at the names of guys or anything but the kid who started it all with the shove should have gotten 10+ games (think it was Lyons) and Gates should have been suspended for the season (like Blount at Oregon a couple years ago) and so should the kid who stomped on Frease's face (guessing that's Mbodj). Then whoever said after the game that they were gangsters (Holloway?) should have a few games tacked on for that. 4- and 6-game suspensions out of that? Just insane.
  4. Urban is a machine. There's no other way to put it. nevada has Urban having flipped 3 recruits on visits this weekend (Dodson, Pittman, Schutt). And looking very good with Diamond and still very much in the fight with Dunn. Sounds like Dodson wants to go public pretty soon because he said he's talking to Bielema tonight in an article. Probably to let him know he's not coming. Suck it, Bielema you goofy looking faggot bastard. And another PSU commit is on his way to OSU right now for a visit. 4-star LB Camren Williams. Urban does not want to be light at LB and OT anymore that's for sure.
  5. There is a lot of closure in the S4 finale but there is still a pretty big "what happens next" feeling. Not a cliffhanger like other shows (which I think is overdone) but it's WIDE open.
  6. Yeah, it's a suuuuuuuuuuuuuper long shot that Sweat gets a medical redshirt but it has happened before. Then you've got a guy like Ben Mauk got screwed out of a medical redshirt at Cincy when he very, very, very clearly deserved one. Hoping Grant comes on strong in these bowl practices. Either Vrabel or Fickell will still be coaching him next season more than likely so he can still benefit from these bowl practices unlike pretty much every other position on the field...lol. Especially the offense. Shazier and Grant could be very special players by the time they leave Columbus. Maybe a guy like Connor Crowell will come on strong as a redshirt frosh (was out this year after badly breaking his ankle/leg in his HS playoffs).
  7. Yeah, Williams will 100% get one. Kinda interesting about Guiton, he was recruited by Tom Herman when Herman was at Rice then I believe he took the Iowa State job in the middle of that recruiting season so he tried to get him there too. So Herman liked Guiton out of HS. One of few since Guiton only had like 4 FBS offers...lol.
  8. Team showed good fight on the road without Sully. Buford was invisible in the 1st half then Thomas disappeared in the 2nd. Needed them to both be clicking at the same time for a chance and it just didn't happen.
  9. Also, Taylor Graham asked for and was granted his release for transfer pretty much as expected. There's 1 scholarship freed up for the 2012 class. Could have medical waivers from McVey, Fellows and Hagan as well. But, for those who hadn't heard, Andrew Sweat is trying to get a medical redshirt. He missed a total of 13 games through his career due to injury with the bulk coming his sophomore year. It's amazing to me that he never redshirted naturally because we seemingly saw so little of him. He knows it's a long shot that it gets approved but he really wants to play a year under Urban (Florida was his 2nd choice coming out of HS).
  10. Someone said the ESPN BottomLine said he's out. That would not be cool.
  11. I think it will be pretty similar to the JT/Bollman arrangement but with Urban actually being more directly involved in play-calling whereas all JT really did in-game was veto plays and make 4th down/punt vs. FG/etc. decisions. Stud is basically co-OC down at LSU as well. Only reason he is any form of OC is because Kragthorpe got a Parkinson's diagnosis shortly before the season started. He's worked with Meyer before, he's from Ohio, I still think there's a good chance. And he's really only hired this guy so far so not a lot of "wow" to be had either way. But if you read up on the guy and actually look at his stuff with your own eyes then you wouldn't be so unimpressed.
  12. I figured you wouldn't be. :dumb: If Meyer felt comfortable enough to go outside of his circle and hire this guy then I'm fine with it. From everything I've read he's pretty brilliant. He got Rice to a 10-3 record in 2008 after they had just 3 wins the season before. And he's been working with MAC-level talent at Rice and ISU. He's going to have a ball with the kind of players Urban will bring him. Plus, Urban is kinda the OC/QB coach himself so this guy will just collaborate with him. Now just hope that Meyer can lure Studrawa as the OL coach (and potentially co-OC) and the offensive staff will be taking shape very nicely. Going to need to hit a home run at the DC position though.
  13. Stoops likely not taking the DC job. Going to do something at OU with his brother again I guess. Looks like Urban did get his QB coach though. Current Iowa State OC/QB coach Tom Herman. A young up and comer who has actually never worked with Urban before. Supposedly sat down with Urban for 7 hours the other day before Urban decided to offer him the job. So right now looks like... HC - Urban Meyer (also kinda the OC/QB coach himself) OC/OL - Studrawa hopefully QB - Tom Herman WR - no clue RB - Stan Drayton TE - Tim Hinton (from ND) hopefully DC - Chuck Heater? Co-DC/DL or LB - Fickell DL or LB - Vrabel maybe (Meyer giving him an "audition" right now via recruiting) DB's - Taver Johnson
  14. The PP is a fantastic little gun. The tube of ammo perplexes and stimulates me simultaneously. Someone killed me with an XM25 last night. Had no idea it could shoot as rapidly as it does. Was just a non-stop barrage of grenades flying at my face.
  15. You're actually better off getting into a game where your ping is high. I read up some more on the lag compensation this morning and how it works exactly. Basically the game reads everyone's ping and takes the average then somehow simulates yours up or down depending on the average to get everyone around the same. So say your ping to the host is 20ms and the worst guy's ping is 200ms and the room average is 90ms. You're going to get downgraded 70ms and they're going to be upgraded 110ms through the lag compensation programming. It's just that the game does such a shitty job of this (no idea how it even works but that's what it's trying to do) that the guy with the 200ms ping being upgraded to 90ms gets a nice advantage whereas you, the responsible, respectable human being with a real internet connection, gets put at a disadvantage. I messed around with QoS settings on my router a week or so ago to try and make my Xbox have very limited bandwidth but didn't follow through. Going to mess with it more tonight after I prestige again.
  16. Yep, make your connection as shitty as possible and reap the benefits. Apparently this has been used since Black Ops (probably why I got rid of that game after a week) but Infinity Ward is supposedly going to do something about it in this one.
  17. Actually, in this game, you get punished for having a good connection. If your internet is shitty you benefit from the lag compensation programmed into the game. Like Spankis said, it's a very, very poorly implemented part of the game which was intended to lessen host advantage. What it did was create a brand new shitty connection advantage. Noticed it within a few days of the game's release when a guy who was lagging like crazy was raping everyone. Then saw a video where a guy played normal and got raped then added a certain amount of ping to his connection to basically simulate a shitty connection and he was destroying people. It's a cool feature.
  18. Looks like RG3 is way out in front... http://www.stiffarmtrophy.com/
  19. Pretty sweet highlight video of Braxton from this year... alittlelessordinary may want to refrain from clicking. :lolguy: Dude is going to be a monster under Urban.
  20. Lots of Florida people I've seen talking about this matchup for a week or so now think they'll lose. All depends on what kind of OSU team shows up. If the OSU offense from the 1st half of Nebraska/Michigan game and the defense from the Wisconsin game shows up then OSU should win. Obviously those are the best performances for either side of the ball this season.
  21. It sucks because Danielson is an awesome commentator. He was great on ABC in the early part of the '00s. Did lots of OSU games. Really knew his stuff. Going to CBS since all they really have is the SEC ruined him. Was sickening watching the 2006 SEC title game where he made a case for Florida to go to the title game for a solid 2 hours.
  22. TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl it is for UF and OSU. You goin' down bitch. :gabe:
  23. Yeah, I can't stand how everyone says "LSU and Alabama are CLEARLY the best 2 teams." And you know this how? Based on the SEC's reputation over the last several years you can infer that but you cannot know it. Plenty of people said the same thing about OSU and Michigan in 2006 after the epic #1 vs. #2 "Game of the Century" shit to end the season. Then the rematch didn't happen and we all know how it turned out. Who's to say that wouldn't happen to LSU and Alabama if they get split up against non-SEC opponents?
  24. Hoping Okie State gets into the title game. Will actually watch a bit if they do. Haven't watched a full non-Ohio State title game since USC-Texas. UF-Oklahoma in 2008... knew UF would win, bet it, didn't watch a single snap. Alabama-Texas in 2009... actually watched most of this. Incredible that Garrett Gilbert didn't end up doing ANYTHING at Texas after coming on strong in the 2nd half of that game as a true freshman replacing the injured Colt McCoy. Auburn-Oregon last year... thought it would be high-scoring so I watched a good bit. Zoned out probably halfway through the 2nd quarter and did something else. Both teams played horrible. Winning a title on a FG at the end was pretty anticlimactic.
  25. Hall is interesting. He's one of the guys who can play T or G but just not a true T like Norwell is. Strangely enough, he's also an answer to your question of when a true freshman started at T. He started at RT a game or two in 2009. It's just a problem that Bollman had where he actually liked to recruit guys who could play all 5 spots on the line. It's great for versatility when your plan is to keep OL numbers low in the first place but when you start finding out that some of those guys actually can't play T you run into problems. Been watching for the most part. LSU will still pull it out. Georgia should have been up 27-0 early in the game but just dropped TD's and missed a FG. LSU being down just 3 at halftime with 12 yards and 0 first downs was hilarious. Maybe we don't want their OC/OL coach afterall...lol.
