  1. It's possible. Don't think anyone but Meyer knows any more than that right now. He has said on air that not coaching is killing him but at the same time he realizes his health is better for it. In other relevant coaching news, have been reading lately that Rich Rod is basically a lock to take over UCLA after this season.
  2. Or they just don't wrap anything up like Heroes.
  3. That was the plan that was agreed to recently I believe. And I like it. Shows with determined exit strategies are much better than shows that get dragged out. Just finished tonight's episode and... yeah... this show has absolutely become my favorite on TV. I downloaded and watched the first 3 seasons a couple weeks ago (like a week before it popped up on Netflix :lolguy:) in a weekend and it's just incredible. There are 2 episodes left in this season.
  4. Florida State is kinda banged up though too. They lost their starting QB during the OU game and stayed within 10. They didn't have their starting QB for the Clemson game and lost by 5 on the road. I think people just want to be quick to deny their being "back." I don't know if they're "back" but they're definitely on the right track. And LJ, you might be right that OSU loses by more than the 13 they lost by last season but simply saying OSU is worse than they were and Wisconsin is better than they were (not sure I agree there - they still haven't played a remotely decent team - we'll get some idea this weekend when they play Nebraska but I think Nebraska is horribly overrated) is not the reason why. They gave up over 100 rushing yards to both FCS South Dakota and UNLV already this season. Nebraska is very one dimensional much like OSU is so that will be a good demonstration of how well they can truly stop the run. If they keep Nebraska under 150 yards rushing then I'll believe they can stop OSU's running game.
  5. Could definitely happen. Braxton will have 3 more starts under his belt by then and Adams, Herron, Posey and Thomas will be back. Probably Williams and Brown from injuries as well. I mean, Miami beat OSU by 18 and they lost to Maryland who just got thumped hard by Temple. Of course, the transitive property means jack shit in college football but it's still interesting. The team doesn't want to win any game more than that Wisconsin game.
  6. I agree that OSU won't be back in the top 25 for beating Colorado. Might squeak back in with a win over MSU next week but that won't be easy. Do not agree that Nebraska and Wisky are out of OSU's reach for "at least another year or two." Nebraska is nothing special and Wisky will be replacing their starting QB again and 9 other senior starters after this season. OSU currently has 3 seniors starting for them. Of course once Adams, Posey and Herron return they will be playing a lot if not starting and that's 3 more but 6 is still a VERY low number to replace and these kids are only going to get better. There have been a lot of flashes but they're freshmen so the consistency isn't there yet.
  7. Episode 1 of Dexter leaked online today. :fuckyeah:
  8. Oh, I know that, I'm just saying that's why we saw him get the nod early. It wasn't about loyalty. We've seen the product in a real game now and how Bauserman performed in the spring, fall and in practices no longer matters to us or the coaches.
  9. I've posted these in here before but feel the need to post them again... this guy does amazing game analysis and write-ups. He typically has video to go along with them but this one doesn't due to technical difficulties. But here's the offensive analysis from the Miami game (I'm sure this was a ball to analyze...lol) and at the end it talks about switching to Miller and what OSU should do with him/expect of him moving forward... http://www.alongtheolentangy.com/2011/9/20/2436600/osu-v-miami-offensive-analysis
  10. Mechanically Braxton is way ahead of Pryor at the same point but that doesn't mean a whole lot when you don't know where your teammates are going to be/what you're supposed to be looking for. Pryor had a pretty high football IQ and freak athleticism. But there were still plenty of games that season where he didn't even attempt 15 passes. That will be similar to the plan for Braxton. Call maybe 20 passing plays a game for Braxton knowing full well he's going to take off on 5-10 of them.
  11. As much as it pains me to admit it (I am the founder of a group of Buckeye fans known as ABB - Anyone But Bauserman...lol) Bauserman outplayed Miller throughout both spring practices and fall camp. And because of that the players on the team actually had more confidence in Bauserman being able to guide the team successfully through this season than Miller. That's why he got the majority of the snaps against Akron then Miller being a little dinged up led to Bauserman getting ALL of the snaps against Toledo. Reading the insider site at Scout... Miller was actually supposed to start the game against Miami. Notice anything about the first few offensive series for OSU? They were almost exclusively from the shotgun. They scrapped starting Miller at the last second and plugged Bauserman into Miller's gameplan. And you saw the result. Then, incompetently enough, when Miller got into the game we went to I formation stuff. The running game was working either way but the rollout stuff and read option stuff (I believe Bauserman kept a read option pretty early in our first series for like 3 yards) was not because Bauserman apparently doesn't know how to throw a spiral after 38 years of playing football. Another thing from the Scout insiders... do not expect Miller to light it up right away. There are going to be more fumbles and interceptions from him. The freshman mistakes. While almost everyone agrees it's the right move, no one in their right mind thinks this is going to cure everything right away. Miller, despite being here since January (unlike Pryor who showed up in June and was able to throw 4 TD's in his starting debut against Troy), reportedly does not even have the same level of understanding of this offense that Pryor had by the time he took over in 2008.
  12. It's not like they were driving all over the place or very far. Very first episode Rick didn't make it all the way to Atlanta and rode the horse into the city. Then they had the box truck to get back out to the camp site just outside of the city. They made what? 1 more trip into the city to go for the brother who ended up cutting his own hand off. After that they finally made an excursion to the CDC which is in... Atlanta.
  13. I remember having a post typed up talking about the big-time OSU insider on Scout saying Miller was the starter a couple days ago. Guess I didn't actually post it in the midst of all the Boise St. discussion...lol.
  14. Yeah, like I said, .500 or above. 12-game schedules = 6 wins. Unless you do that Hawaii exception and play a 13-game schedule. Then you need 7.
  15. They have all of season 1 on AMC On Demand if your cable/satellite provider has that. Just showed the first episode of season 1 to my cousin. She won't sleep for weeks.
  16. I bet some bowl game would love to give us a game regardless of a record but I'm pretty sure you have to be .500 or above. We will be above .500 though so it's OK. ESPN's current bowl projections have us in the Meineke Car Care Bowl vs. Mizzou or the Insight Bowl vs. Texas Tech. I don't see us finishing worse than 4th in the conference though so Gator Bowl vs. SEC team or Insight Bowl vs. Big 12 team.
  17. I'm very glad they did. I think these "super" conferences are somewhat inevitable but I'm not all that excited for them. I think 12 is a really good number of teams for conferences to have. And of course Texas needs to be humbled a bit. They didn't even make a bowl game last year.
  18. Pac 12 deciding not to expand further at this time. Big 12 looking at BYU, WVU and Louisville to replace A&M. Of course, the Pac 12 could easily be continuing expansion exploration behind the scenes like the Big 10 has.
  19. I used OSU and the ranked thing because he did to show just how ridiculous it is. Using the same data and qualifications you only have to go back through the 2008 season to see OSU outdo Boise State in that regard.
  20. At which part? Most everyone does what? If you're talking about redshirting EVERYONE (and I mean EVERYONE) only low-level BCS schools do that. OSU is currently playing something like 12 true freshmen. After the 2006 season OSU replaced a Heisman-winning QB, the starting RB, I think 3 starting offensive linemen, 2 NFL wide receivers and that was just the offensive side of the ball. What did OSU do in 2007? Went back to the national title game. Boise State cannot even do that in their little, non-BCS conference. Examples being 2005 and 2007 where they lost 4 and 3 games. Those numbers double in a BCS conference. They just can't reload like the elite of the BCS can. OSU this season is a ridiculous anomaly. Had the NCAA stuff never happened we'd be #1 or #2 in the country right now. Having guys removed and suspended, including a legendary head coach, somewhat unexpectedly is a little different than having players graduate or leave early for the NFL.
  21. Guys need to stop using just OSU and just this season for your data/comparisons. alittlelessordinary listed their "quality wins" above. 7 wins over ranked opponents in 10 years... ALERT THE PRESS...lol. And those are rankings at the time they played. Georgia should not have been ranked this year and they won't be at the end of the season. That's just one example. And I'm not saying Colorado is a powerhouse. They just happen to be in this stretch OSU is in that I'm not so sure Boise would survive. Boise would have 100% lost to Toledo had they been without 12 or so players from their 2-deep like OSU was against Toledo. To show how ridiculous the Boise State ranked wins thing is... I only had to go back through 2008 to find 8 OSU wins over ranked opponents. By the end of the season OSU will have played a much tougher schedule. That's just a fact.
  22. Boise State would get beaten up more than they've ever been beaten up if they played a stretch of @Miami, Colorado, MSU, @Nebraska, @Illinois, Wisconsin like we are in right now. I'd love to see how they'd do but it's just not possible. Instead Boise State had all off-season to prepare for wrongfully ranked Georgia. They then took 2 weeks off and got to play a beaten up and emotionally deflated Toledo team. Now they get to play a beaten up Tulsa team coming off a game that went on until almost 3AM (weather delays) against top 10 Oklahoma State. After that? They get a rebuilding Nevada squad who will be coming off a game against another BCS opponent and has already lost by 7 TD's to Oregon. Then they get Fresno State who had a decent showing in Lincoln but they're already 1-2 and will likely be 2-3 by the time the Broncos come to town. After that Boise gets 4 weeks rest by playing Colorado State, Air Force and UNLV with a bye week mixed in. A small challenge against a rebuilding TCU squad who gave up 50 to Baylor in their season opener. Then virtually 3 more weeks off to end the season against San Diego State, Wyoming and New Mexico.
  23. I can't geographically move Boise. I'm sorry...lol. And this year... I think they could maybe win the Pac 12. They probably wouldn't win the Big 12. No shot in the SEC. They'd have a shot in the Big 10. In none of these conferences would they be the favorite. But this is a special year for Boise. They have a bunch of 5th year seniors including their QB and their entire DL. That's how Boise works. They redshirt just about everyone and when their really good players are in their 4th and 5th years they have some really good teams. What happens next season when they're breaking in a ton of new guys who are 2nd/3rd year players? They'd go .500 in a BCS conference. What happens where they are now? They go 10-3 like they did in 2007...lol.
  24. It's not reasonable at all to assume the inverse would be true because there is too great a difference between the quality of the teams on the schedule.
  25. In a one game setting, as I've said before, I agree that they can play with anyone in the country. Let me try and say it again, put Boise State in a BCS conference where you play future NFL players pretty much every week and see where they are at the end of the season. There are so many variables involved you can't know for sure but it's extremely different than finishing your season with San Diego State, Wyoming and New Mexico. They basically have 3 off weeks at end of the season then over a month to get ready for whoever they're going to beat in their bowl game this year...lol.
