  1. BIG GAME BOB! lol Guy's like 2-5 in BCS games so I was right there with you, cringing.
  2. For under $500 and gaming this is the best choice at Best Buy... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia%26%23153%3B+-+42%22+Class+/+Plasma+/+720p+/+600Hz+/+HDTV/9748831.p?id=1218166511573&skuId=9748831 Big thing you're going to want to look at for gaming is input lag. It's virtually non-existent on plasma TV's and it varies greatly on LCD/LED TV's so you'll have to research that for each specific model you look at. Because of that, out of sheer laziness, I prefer plasma. Here's a recertified Panasonic (best plasmas on the market now that Pioneer is done) from Newegg for $450... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889187224 Here's a nice 46" Panasonic on Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIERA-TC-P46X3-46-Inch-Plasma/dp/B004M8SCLA/ref=sr_1_3?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1320685147&sr=1-3
  3. I have no idea what you're trying to say with your first sentence. Give Boise OSU's talent and Boise would win wat? To the point about their talent, that's kind of the point. They don't have as much of it. If they played NFL bodies like teams in real conferences do week in and week out (it's not about great teams but make no mistake, there are multiple future NFL players going up against OSU pretty much every week - Miami is a bad team, sure, but there were several future NFL players on that team - that's not the case for the teams Boise faces) they simply would not be as successful as they have been running through the UNLV's and Wyoming's of the world in every week but 1-2 each season. It's about a team wearing down and/or having the depth of talent to just plug guys in and move on. Teams in BCS conferences have the depth and can plug guys in when they're beaten up by week 7/8 of the season and still have a couple ranked opponents coming down the pipe. I don't think Boise does and we'll never know unless they join a real conference.
  4. I know most of the stuff posted just now regarding differences between the comics and the TV show and the stuff about Herschel's barn but I don't think some of the others will want to know/read that stuff...

  6. You let Boise in with their schedule then I vote for OSU to go independent and play nothing but MAC schools except for once or twice a year. I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say it but Boise does not have to endure the grind of a season in a conference where you play NFL talent week in and week out. They'll never have to deal with multiple games in a row where they'll be tested and might have some guys banged up from facing big, strong athletes for multiple weeks in a row. It's hard enough for a team like OSU to deal with several injuries and having to play a stretch like MSU, Nebraska, Illinois, Wisconsin and OSU recruits at a very high level. Put Boise in that position and have them having to use the kind of players they have on their 3rd string and see if "all they do is win"...lol.
  7. Guy likes to see homos naked, that doesn't help me. Aside from Joe Dirt quotes, I believe we're supposed to find out sometime this season. I know a lot of people were pissed after this season's premiere when Rick started to say something about it to Morgan over the radio then said "It doesn't matter" but I read in an article before the season started that it will be revealed at some point.
  8. With how late the ruling may end up coming down now (early December) it looks like any post-season ban would actually get pushed back a year. :fuuuu:
  9. Really nice punt from Braxton there IMO.
  10. I'm still living off of a couple $30/yr membership cards I bought a long time ago and am paid through February 2013 but still might do this. Best price I've seen since the subscription price increase earlier this year.
  11. As for the Bama-LSU game I like Bama. Much better coach IMO, better offense and just slightly better defense. Plus they're at home. I kinda don't even want to watch the game thought. They've been talking about it for 2 straight weeks now and the way everyone talks about it like there's absolutely no question these are the 2 best teams in the country is sickening. They don't remember doing the exact same thing 5 years ago with OSU-Michigan? Would be hilarious if no matter who wins this week both teams go out and lose a game or two down the stretch. Was going to say lose next week but just looked at their schedules and both teams have virtual bye weeks coming up... LSU has some FCS school next week and Bama has one the week after. Scheduling geniuses in the SEC to be honest.
  12. I consider a lot of other things too which is why my post was so long (and now reviewing this one, it's lengthy too...lol). I think Michigan is much closer to the top 5 than ND or Nebraska. ND's academic standards, unless they ever loosen up on them, prevent them from truly competing at the elite levels of college football without having the absolute best coach in the country. They'd need a guy like Peterson from Boise State who has shown he can match his team up against superior talent and beat them. The problem is the best coaches in the country (Saban, Meyer, etc.) don't want to go there because they know the restrictions. Once you've been able to recruit with the freedom they experienced in the SEC you don't want to go be shackled by your own administration at ND. Take away ND's academic garbage and give them a truly elite coach and they're a top 5 job immediately. I just think Urban and others turning them down over the years because of those academic restrictions is very telling in just how harmful they can be. Then Nebraska just doesn't have the recruiting base to be considered a top 5 job. All of the Florida schools despite having to compete with each other are ahead of ND and Nebraska IMO. Oklahoma State is a very interesting job now with the T. Boone Pickens money and the ability to recruit Texas and maybe with a few more seasons like this one they can go national a bit more. Penn State is a biggie that hasn't been mentioned that would be ahead of Nebraska and ND. Great HS football in PA and their surrounding states and plenty of money. Program is a true sleeping giant. We OSU fans just have to hope JoePa keeps ticking...lol. So ranking a bit further I'd have... 1. Texas 2a. OSU 2b. Alabama 4. USC 5. Oklahoma Rest unranked... Florida FSU Miami Georgia - didn't mention in my post but just came to mind LSU Penn State So that's a solid 11 there definitely ahead of Michigan IMO. Then there would be some more like Auburn and Oklahoma State before I'd get to ND or Nebraska.
  13. Yeah, I thought Insight's stuff was pretty outdated but now with WOW... it's hilarious. The guide and everything looks like it's from 1994. They're getting new shit at the beginning of next year for a whole home DVR and whatnot and I really only got WOW for the internet but it's still funny.
  14. Same here. Had U-verse from December to just a couple weeks ago and no time display on the box was really annoying for a while then we just got used to it. Now that we switched to WOW it's really, really nice having the time right there at all times again.
  15. I basically skipped Black Ops. Think it was a combo of being burnt out and that game kinda just sucking. Didn't even plan on buying it then Newegg had it for $45 right around launch so I got it, played it for a little over a week then sold it on Craigslist for $50...lol.
  16. I don't think ND, Michigan or Nebraska belong anywhere near the top 5. ND has academic restrictions that will never allow them to be truly elite again unless they just land some incredible coach. Urban Meyer IMO is an incredible coach but he wouldn't go there because of the academic stuff that they wouldn't let him go around. Michigan is closer than ND but they still have a relatively small in-state talent pool to pull from and they have legitimate competition, especially recently, in recruiting with Michigan State. Then Nebraska just has an awful in-state talent pool to choose from. They get some leftovers from around the OK/TX area and the midwest but they don't have a solid base to fall back on should they whiff out of state. The rest of your top 5 is good IMO. Texas is #1 and always will be #1. Think it's at least 300 D1 prospects every single year in the state. Texas just chooses who they want. They've chosen poorly as of late it seems but once those poor choices are gone they'll be right back. OSU and Alabama are 2a/2b IMO. Smaller markets with no real pro teams to speak of (CBJ isn't a real pro team) so they ARE the pro teams. Ohio has great HS football, Alabama does as well and theirs is only getting better as people continue to migrate south. Then both schools do a great job of plucking elite prospects from their surrounding states when they need to (OSU from PA, MI, IL, etc. and Bama from MS, FL, LA, etc.). USC is in a great situation right now with UCLA so, so down so they get everyone they want in the LA area and will of course do better once their sanctions expire so they're 4 for me as well. I think Oklahoma probably takes that last spot in the top 5. Texas is just so full of great HS talent that Oklahoma does fine pulling 2-3 elite Texas players then leftovers from the top 50 or so in Texas that the Longhorns can't take. And like OSU, Alabama and Texas, it's a small market who just now has the OKC Thunder but OU football is still king in that state of course. So, cliffs... 1. Texas 2a. OSU 2b. Alabama 4. USC 5. Oklahoma None of the Florida schools can qualify as a top job because they're cyclical it seems as to who is the top dog in the state and they all have to compete against each other then other elite programs like OSU, Alabama, USC, etc. go in there and pluck a few great prospects every year as well.
  17. He was forced to resign. He had no intention of leaving until the BoT decided the flow of donations had slowed enough that they needed to do something. And yeah, the Aaron Craft/BBQ stuff is hilarious.
  18. Pre-ordered the hardened edition on Amazon a month or so ago. Those things are pretty much sold out everywhere now though. The biggest thing with the hardened edition (don't give a shit about a special case or some bullshit concept art) is that it comes with 1 year of COD Elite which means you get all the DLC they release in the first year included. It does have Spec Ops (co-op) like MW2 had. IGN has been streaming some live MW3 since 3PM actually with some of the developers... http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/10/25/ign-live-presents-modern-warfare-3?show=HD
  19. I'm actually worried they have almost no choice but to do that. Some of the stuff in the comics is just not doable on non-premium TV. I'm not even sure HBO or Showtime could do some of the stuff in the comics. Add that to how popular the show is, if they do some of the stuff they might be able to do on a channel like AMC they still might lose a ton of viewers. Think moving forward they eventually go completely away from the comics and just use the name to continue and keep the "casual zombie fan" watching for as long as the zombie craze continues. Oh, and speaking of those ratings, another 6+ million viewers for episode 3. No one episode had that many viewers last season so even though the viewership continues to trend downward (like any show does after the season premiere) it's still a huge number. And an incredible 2.2 million watched the 10PM encore once again. Will be interesting this week to see how Hell on Wheels does in the 10PM slot. Has the best lead-in on cable but it would be funny if it couldn't hold the same number of viewers as a replay of The Walking Dead.
  20. Petey got nothing because he ran away. Bruce Pearl got 3 years and his case was all about lying to/misleading the NCAA just like Tressel's so I just assume he gets at least the same.
  21. There's still probably a thread or two per month that pop up on OSU boards with people trying to make their argument that not only should Tressel be re-hired but that he will be...lol. Dude's probably getting a 3-5 year show cause penalty.
  22. Was discussed a few pages ago. An "insider" on Scout who is not "some kid" talked to someone closer to OSU and more in tune with the whole situation than even he is and posted it probably a little over a week ago now.
