  1. He wanted to do some kind of engineering. I don't know all the details on them letting/not letting him pursue that but I know it was engineering. Michigan is a great academic school as far as public schools are concerned so I could see engineering being a tough task along with major college football up there but simply not allowing the kid to try is strange. Here's a chart from a year or so ago that OSU displays in the WHAC for recruiting visits... http://i.imgur.com/iJOjPyw.jpg I guess Michigan's 2 were grandfathered in from the RR days and Hoke doesn't allow it? I don't know.
  2. After that post I'm starting to think he's not an OSU fan at all and just trolling. Anyway, onto funnier things (ie. Michigan)... I read that Hand trying to get into contact with Hoke/Michigan was earlier in the week. But either way... wow. I remember when Hoke was hired people didn't think too much of him because he had an overall losing record in his career to that point and he has his voice and all this other stuff not really projecting the feel of a big-time coach. Then they get 11 wins and go to a BCS bowl in his first year and it's like... wtf? How? Dude must be damn good. Pair that with some great recruiting classes and everything looks really good. 2012 happens and people figure the team is young, Hoke only has 1 of his classes in so far and there's a lot of damage from the RR era still needing to be repaired. Now it's 2013 and Michigan may have a worse record than 2012. 2 full (and very highly regarded) Hoke classes on hand and this is what they're working with? A surefire 1st round LT as well as very highly touted guys along the rest of the OL and they can't manage positive rushing yardage over the course of two full games? It's insane. Recruiting rankings aren't everything but Michigan has absolutely loaded up on OL talent the last few classes (much to the chagrin of OSU fans, especially when it came to 5* OT Kyle Kalis) and can't gain a yard. It's probably bad karma to point all of this out knowing OSU will have their own OL woes next season with 4 fantastic seniors graduating across the line but it's just incredible to think about. Does anyone know the last time Ohio State had negative rushing yards in a game? It was UGLY against MSU back in 2011 behind the Bollman offense but they still managed positive yardage. I can't imagine it having happened in the last decade.
  3. So the #1 prospect in the country according to multiple sites, 5* DE Da'Shawn Hand, had his announcement today. Was a lock to Michigan for weeks if not months. Michigan commits being all confident and smug on Twitter this morning. Even Hoke hinted that today was going to be a great day for Michigan football during I guess his call-in show or something. Kid announced about a half hour ago. For Alabama. Michigan fans are flipping out. This is awesome. I think they legitimately had him locked up and their horrible results on the field the last few weeks led directly to this.
  4. You're one of the "miserable" fans Tressel referenced post-USC in 2009.
  5. Lots of kids signing these mid-year agreements. Curtis Samuel, Marcelys Jones, Kyle Trout, Sean Nuerenberger and Stephen Collier for OSU so far. This allows coaches and support staff to publicly mention them (ie. Twitter as Pantoni has been doing) and also, I believe, unlimited contact. The thing is that they are not binding for the player but are for the school. The players can still end up at another school but no matter what the school cannot drop a player who has signed this agreement. The players can also sign multiple agreements but only one per conference. So a player like Curtis Samuel who PSU is trying to get a visit from... he can visit but he can't sign an agreement with them as he already has with another B1G school. A hypothetical scenario has a player signing with 4-5 schools in different conferences, not announcing a decision then just showing up at a school for winter quarter to start classes and conditioning with the team. I say winter quarter because these agreements are only available to early enrollees. So it's nice to see those 5 will be coming in early. 2 OL who will need to be maybe in the 2-deep right away, a kicker who may very well start as a freshman, Collier who will likely be 3rd string right off the bat then Samuel who will have to battle with guys like Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson for a chance at playing time as a freshman.

  7. "Pro" perks were done away with in Black Ops 2. That's why there are so many perks and you can disable secondary weapons or lethal/tactical equipment to use a bunch of perks. A "pro" perk in MW2, BO1 or MW3 did the job of 2-3 perks in BO2 or Ghosts. Makes you have to think more on what you really want to use. Which I don't like as much since I just like to run around like a chicken with my head cut off. Have to have the operations active. When you're in a lobby look at your operations. There are 5 categories and it shows 5. But then under those 5 categories are 10 total operations. So you have 50 operations active at any given time where you can unlock new patches. They refresh every 2 weeks or you can re-roll them for 1 squad point but you also redeem up to 5 squad points based on how many of the active operations you've completed. Also it was more than one person. Definitely two (oTrademark and PWNSTARz) and there may have been a third. I don't know for sure because I didn't watch it much.
  8. I wonder this... you say you just now got around to catching up to OSU games. Games for the team you're supposedly a fan of. So I ask... what games of these so overwhelmingly dominant SEC teams have you seen? The one where Alabama beat A&M while giving up 42 points and over 600 yards? The one where 10th ranked South Carolina lost to 4-6 Tennessee? You do understand that the SEC currently has 2 1-loss teams in the top 10 and 2 2-loss teams in the top 15 yet the B1G can't get 1-loss Michigan State, with possibly the best defense in the country, into the top 15 or what should be a 1-loss Wisconsin into the top 20? The SEC is not good this year. OSU would be right with Alabama this season in that conference. And Florida State, the other team ahead of Ohio State right now... they're in the ACC. Do you know who FSU may play in the ACC title game? Duke. Enough said.
  9. Wisconsin should be a top 15 team with their only loss coming on the road against a top 3 team. That bullshit out in the desert early in the season is definitely hurting OSU now.
  10. Not sure if serious... When OSU played @ Northwestern that was basically Northwestern going "all in." They were as healthy as they've been all season and ridiculously hyped for that game. Braxton was still a little rusty coming back from injury and Urban gave him a little kick in the ass by starting to warm up Kenny on the sidelines. Braxton's stats since Urban warmed up Kenny have been insane. Iowa is a much better team than people think. Their 4 losses are to teams with a combined record of 33-3. And OSU just shut them down and ran clock after halftime. Since halftime of the Iowa game, OSU has been firing on all cylinders offensively and defensively. We'll see if they can keep it up moving forward.
  11. Hopefully they can pluck Johnnie Dixon out of Florida. If not they already really recruited over Lonnie by taking Noah Brown. Not a lot of kids left in this class. JUCO OT Chad Mavety, hopefully LB Raekwon McMillan, maybe Dixon and maybe DL Solomon Thomas. Not sure on anyone else.
  12. The maps are pretty bad. The gameplay is solid if you're on a good connection. Which could very well be solved if the dedicated servers are magically turned on when the Xbox One launches. Maps being bad could also be a result of so many games starting with less than 6v6 because of connectivity issues. Someone else mentioned next gen being 9v9... 9v9 on dedicated servers could really change this game.
  13. CBS bowl Projections... http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions Sugar Bowl would be a rematch. UCF lost by a FG to South Carolina early in the season. Fiesta Bowl would be a slaughter. Current BCS rankings have Buffalo at 42 and Michigan at 45. :lolguy:

    Walking Dead

Best episode in a while tonight. Show could take another step in the right direction or completely flop based on what they do now that the Governor is back.
  15. I think Tennessee's "claim to fame" is probably beating currently 12th ranked South Carolina. Yes, 12th ranked South Carolina, with 2 losses, lost to 4-6 Tennessee and is somehow 4 spots ahead of 1-loss Michigan State. Don't throw up too much or have too many aneurysms thinking about it. The 2-loss SEC teams ahead of Michigan State and even Wisconsin (who should only have 1 loss to a top 3 team on their record) are disgusting.
  16. double posting makes me want to hurt myself
  17. Only way Manziel wins is if Winston falls apart down the stretch and Manziel is basically the last man standing. His numbers are good but not as good as last year (specifically his rushing yardage) and he's a massive douchebag which old-school guys (aka a lot of the people who vote for the award) will not vote for.
  18. I LOVE that there's an article today saying Sumlin is the top candidate for USC. I've been messing with my A&M friend since Kiffin was fired saying stuff like, "So where is Sumlin going to be next year? USC or the NFL?" Reading the Aggies trying to say there's just no way he'd leave on reddit is glorious. Their fanbase is so bad.
  19. Seriously, how the fuck was Oklahoma top 10? They were dominated by a bad Texas team. To compare, Michigan State, with possibly the best defense in the entire country, has only 1 loss by less than a TD to currently ranked Notre Dame and can barely crack the top 20. And of course there are 3 2-loss SEC teams in the top 15 which we just have to live with at this point. But Oklahoma top 10? :dumb: Watching that game last night and seeing Blake Bell pass... it was like watching Bauserman all over again. Just nauseating.
  20. Baylor may pick up Oregon's votes since I'd assume those putting Oregon very high like seeing points scored. Although it's not like OSU doesn't score points. There's no way a team that lost to Utah will jump undefeated OSU. Maybe in the computer polls but not in either of the human polls. Stanford was even behind Baylor in both human polls going into last night's game. They're not jumping either team. Will be interesting to see where Oregon's votes go in Sunday's polls.
