Yeah, I saw that. I don't agree with that but I wouldn't downvote it. I think Urban was going to make Hyde his first ever 1,000 yard RB this season. Now we'll see a more even split like you have there. Smith/Dunn will likely get the carries Hyde would have gotten and Hall/the others will get the carries they were going to get. At least that's how I hope it plays out. I loved how Hyde was running at the end of last season. Smith/Dunn will have to step it up big time to fill those shoes. Hyde was consistently just pounding up the inside for 5-6 yards a carry. When you have that ability in your back pocket it opens other things up. At least this is happening before camp starts. Smith, Dunn, Ball, etc., etc. should be foaming at the mouth now.

Looks like that police case thingy I quoted earlier was the wrong one. Here's the right one with Hyde named as a person of interest... http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2013/07/23834/ohio-state-running-back-carlos-hyde-named-as-suspect-in-police-report?utm_source=buffer&utm_campaign=Buffer&utm_content=buffer982da&utm_medium=twitter And the guy who first had the story posts a DM convo from twitter that he had with the names removed... http://menofthescarletandgray.com/2013/07/22/accusations-against-carlos-hyde/ It's been confirmed that at this morning's team meeting Hyde and the freshman who has yet to be identified were not present.

Doubt it's Baugh. That was a one-time thing and he's getting the Mewhort/Stoneburner treatment. Basically not part of the team until he fulfills community service obligations. It sounds like it's a kid who has done several little things to annoy Urban while not being real legal issues and he's had enough. We'll know soon enough.

Hit his girlfriend/a girl at a club. Here's a wall at the WHAC with the "golden rules" if you will under Urban... http://i.imgur.com/c4JyuST.jpg Also, Ben Axelrod from Rivals is saying Hyde's dismissal won't be the only bad news in the next day or so. Looks like a kid in the 2013 class may have had multiple not-so-significant issues add up over the summer and recently used up his last life and may also be gone... Gotta love the off-season.

If it's true I hope Smith or Dunn really lock it down. I was a huge Hyde fan. And I just remembered... nevada has never liked Hyde. That explains why he would jump at the chance to break bad news about him but never anyone else. He has referred to him as a cancer on the team for over a year now because of one or two tweets he made after the Illinois game in 2011. Hyde had over 100 yards against Nebraska, Boom comes back from his suspensions and was instantly re-inserted as the starter, Hyde got 3 carries and vented after the game on twitter. He has an insatiable love for Jordan Hall despite the fact that Hall has actually broken NCAA rules and been suspended for them. It all makes sense now and I hope more than ever that he's dead wrong.

nevada. He hasn't posted the name but he posted "Bad news coming", "someone being removed from the team" and confirmed it's a starter. It is rare for him to be out in front on bad news because he simply hates posting it. Then it leads to speculation/could be inaccurate. If he got this wrong then it won't look good at all.

So Carlos Hyde is most likely gone. OSU has more than capable guys behind him but fuck... he was going to be Urban's first 1,000 yard RB. And boom... 2 weeks before camp... gone.

Thing is, season 3's trailer looked pretty good too. It's hard to make a show look bad when you have over 300 minutes of stuff (first half of the season) to condense into 4. And the beginning of season 3 wasn't bad. It just fell apart near the middle, had a really good episode with Morgan near the end then never recovered. Looking at the trailer though it seems as if they're almost backtracking and somewhat redoing some of the story. Let's see if they let a showrunner stick around long enough to see something through.

Since Marcus Baugh is now on the Hernandez schedule of success, this quote from nearly a year ago after he visited OSU is glorious... Which coaches did you meet with? What were they telling you? I met with Coach Meyer, Coach Hinton, and Coach Herman. They said they plan on using me like Aaron Hernandez. So at least they were up front with him. They are going to turn him into a trained killer. :lolguy:

Marcus Baugh is the new Aaron Hernandez. The freshman TE was arrested for underage drinking and a fake ID. T-minus 6 years to his first murder.

To confirm/add to this... Love that the kid is being up front about it. When nevada busts out a ==== on a kid that far in advance you've gotta figure he's pretty set in what he wants to do and not shy about letting people know it. nevada said this kid is also one who "gets it" when it comes to being a leader of a recruiting class. When the time comes, he will help put together a monster 2017 class. Braxton got some solid hype as a freshman at Wayne but, and this seems true to this day, he's not the most outgoing kid. His class was more than solid but I don't remember hearing much about him working on guys. 13 of the other 24 players in the class were from Ohio so he wouldn't have had to do too much. And 4 of the non-Ohioans are gone. The big OOS get in that class was Curtis Grant and we got him due to his affinity for Tressel's sense of humor and Derrick Green who is now a true freshman at Michigan...lol.

I thought it was more like $18k. Either way it's pretty insane. Dude hit one wrong button and cost he and his company or whatever they're called thousands. Edit: found a link to that one... http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/01/29/one-accidental-jump-later-one-of-eves-biggest-battles/ 400-700 billion ISK. 700 billion ISK = about $25k. Guy hits one wrong button and 3,000 people almost instantly jump into battle. Amazing.

Curtis Grant Ryan Shazier Cam Williams Josh Perry Then the incoming freshmen... Trey Johnson Chris Worley Mike Mitchell Darron Lee (been working at LB last I read) Could easily see all 4 of those freshmen seeing some form of playing time this year. Johnson and Mitchell real game time at LB and Worley and Lee on special teams due to their versatility.

And Harvard has only accepted one football transfer in the last decade so it's kind of rare and something of an achievement for Luke to be accepted.
-
Yeah, he was one of the kids who committed during the Fickell era. After Tressel resigned, before Meyer was hired. Had to figure there was at least one more LB moving on with all the LB's they want to bring in with this class.
-
Luke Roberts transferring to Harvard.
-
Yeah, he was just in the competition for the title but lost out to Speedy Noil. Still a really nice performance out of him.
-
Was unfortunate that Charles Dance didn't get to have a show where he was the sole Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. The Hand of the King deserved it.

Collier getting mixed reviews at the Elite 11. I'd say more good than bad though. Much better than ND commit Deshone Kizer out of Toledo who a lot of people thought Urban missed on by not offering. Getting ripped for his terrible mechanics. I don't know how a kid with terrible mechanics gets to an Elite 11 but... whatever works. A little blurb from an update on some site (I don't remember where)... And a bit about Collier's throwing ability...

Exactly what I thought of when I saw this thread. "Ugh... ruined my day. Booooy... shouldn't have called me a cracker. Bringing me back to owning land and people. WHAT A DRAG!" -
Haven't cared about Shell since he was in HS. Lots of talk before his senior year that he wanted to be a Buckeye but Tressel and the staff were content taking 2 in-state studs in Ball and Dunn. Of course then right in the middle of that recruiting cycle Tressel was gone and they almost didn't land Dunn as a result. Obviously, like you said, he won't end up at OSU. He's damaged goods and OSU has a stable of RB's right now with a plethora of options in the 2015 class too. I thought he was going to be a stud wherever he landed though but unfortunately he decided to stay home at awful Pitt and now we've got this. It will be interesting to see if he ever does something wherever he lands.

Jamarco Jones to OSU. Top 50 player in the country, top 5 OT in the country. OL recruiting will not be a concern whatsoever when this class is finished. Should get Eluemunor (same rating out of 100 on 247 as Jones but Eluemunor is a JUCO guy so he's in separate ratings) soon then another 1-2 of Prince, Mavety and Knox.
-
On a positive note, looks like OSU could be getting 2 big OL this week. Hopefully Jamarco Jones tomorrow and possibly today or tomorrow Jermaine Eluemunor. More confident on Eluemunor than Jones at this point.
