  1. After leaving me alone for a few weeks, Thaiboy has gone on a two-day rampage on my properties. He didn't stop at hazards, he bulldozed every expensive building on each street. I sold off almost all remaining streets and am just sitting on billions waiting for him to lay off. Interesting behavior ...
  2. Well, we went to Banana Leaf on Bethel and it was super! Although they had the full menu at lunch, we all opted for the buffet, which was somewhat unusual; it's somewhat like a prix fixe menu, in that you don't actually go up to a big buffet. Instead, you are served courses at your table and in each course, you have some options. Some appetizers are cold, others are hot. There is a main course which then works like a buffet where you walk up to a steam table and dollop food onto your platter. The foods were flavorful, but not extremely hot/spicy. One person with us ordered Indian hot sauce to add to a few dishes. The food trays are labeled, and there is a guidesheet explaining how the whole buffet works and which has the name and description of each item served. It all may sound formal, but the place is just a little strip mall storefront. It does, however, have linen tablecloths and linen napkins. The staff are all Indian and were friendly and helpful. The place is 100% vegetarian, and I'd have to say it was the best vegetarian meal I've ever had. A number of the customers were Indian, and I think that is a bit of recommendation itself. We all thought the place was great and we'll return. Lunch buffet was around $9 a person, and included drinks and dessert. Sandwiches are about $4 as are the appetizers. Curry meals are between $7-$10. It was medium busy, but each food item came out almost immediately. The restaurant is on the north side of Bethel road at the same traffic light as Micro Center. 816 Bethel Road, Columbus http://www.bananaleafofcolumbus.com
  3. Thanks. So far it looks like Cuisine of India at Sancus and Polaris or Banana Leaf on Bethel are the most promising. One guest is a vegetarian, so I'll try to give everyone the heads-up on this thread later today after we've tried one of the places. Perhaps post to the MSpaint thread, depending on how things "come out" later.
  4. Thanks. I knew I could count on you for help.
  5. I have some unexpected out-of-towners to entertain, and they've asked about trying a local Indian restaurant for lunch. Although I've enjoyed Indian dishes that friends have prepared, I don't know anything about the local Indian restaurant scene. Any recommendations for good lunchtime Indian food? It could even be buffet style .... I don't think they're looking for fancy ..... just good. I pulled-up a listing of Columbus area Indian restaurants, and frankly, I've never heard of any of them. Thanks!

  7. :gtfo: WTF are you talkin' 'bout, Cordell? I couldn't pry you out of the Lotus with a crowbar! And my recollection was that you couldn't get that grin off your face for an hour after your little "test drive." "I haven't been around any really well executed imports" eh?
  8. I would wager that any alien race that would abduct you from a spaceship would, within a very short time, be compelled to make you their king .......
  9. Hmmm. I wonder if it's right hand drive .....
  10. I've been in the same situation myself, and I asked for opinions/advice. Pretty much everyone told me the same thing: go to the range with a few friends and shoot a number of different pistols. The pistols which are "best" for you will be the ones which are most comfortable for you to shoot. If it doesn't feel right in your hand, then you probably won't shoot well with it and may not be as inclined to practice with it. Most ranges will also let you try out a number of different configurations. I've been told that I would do better with a $450 Glock that I practiced with than with a $5,000 Wilson Combat that didn't feel right to fire. My .02
  11. Amen to that. Friday I went to the same Best Buy and also looked at hh gregg. Even in the 50" sizes, each had a display of what I wanted, but had none in stock. Although both had decent prices on what I wanted (Panny TC P50G15), their prices on the peripheral Bluray player, connectors, stand, were all way high compared to buying at Amazon. I'm leaning toward just getting it all through Amazon.
  12. He left me alone for over a week, but now he's back bulldozing again as THAIBOY and TEDNUGENT. Strangely, he is stopping before he gets all the bonus buildings ...... leaves the income on the street intact. I really can't complain ..... I accomplished what I wanted to.
  13. I hit Level 6 tonight and have a net income of 1.3 billion a day. I celebrated by building a Monopoly Tower on the street where I live (protected by only one park, so we'll see how long it survives the bulldozer). I also put one on Polaris Parkway at the old Circuit City meet spot. I started about a week late, but had lots of help from Cred05 who bought a street from me for an outlandishly inflated price. Also many thanks to Frenchy and Drewhop for helping with enemies and helping to defend against Thaiboy. I think I'll just collect my rent every day and wait it out until the reset. If you're still playing and need some help, feel free to ask.
  14. I figure it's only sporting of me to give you another try at beating the Benz. Do you think you can launch without foul starting on me this time?
  15. I hate to see them go. I never owned one, and I knew that the early ones were junk, but you have to admire how they re-invented themselves, took on the big names, and in some ways could beat the big guys at their own game. There's no doubt that the Buell 1125 is an awesome bike. Sometimes the best bike doesn't win. As Charlie Darwin said, it's not necessarily the strongest, nor the most intelligent of the species that survive .....
  16. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fred-Flintstone-Barney-Rubble-Car.jpg That, sir, is truly impressive. All of my cars use gasoline engines.
  17. Wow! That's a great deal. Detail shops charge between two and four hundo for the same service, and I doubt that they would do as good a job. I hope some CR folks take you up on this offer.
  18. Thanks for posting the photos, Tim. Looks like there was some wild stuff there.
  19. There's shop space to rent all over Creation .... Perhaps it would be helpful to know what your requirements are, e.g., the area you're looking for, the range of square footage, the duration of the lease, what equipment you need, whether or not you're looking for a heated space, and probably most importantly, the amount of money you're looking to pay. The more info you disclose, the more relevant the thread replies can be.
  20. I saw on my "Friends" log that he began spying on you and me. Not to worry, he's down to nearly no assets and I'm sure not going to let up on him. No love for the guy on the ropes.
  21. Welcome! Track rental's coming up in a few weeks ..... plenty of passes with no waiting, also a good chance to meet some of the CR folks. Hope you can make it to our last track rental of the season.
  22. I didn't take any photos, but had a good time chillin' with the CR folks and family. Some really outstanding cars were shown. It was a great way to spend a pretty autumn afternoon. Good seeing y'all!
  23. hmmm. I guess a number of folks are arriving at different times. Based on last year, they park you with the cars you arrive with, rather than let you choose where to park. I expect that I might arrive earlier, so feel free to text me if you want to try to coordinate. 740-405-5565. Either way, hope to see you there!
