Brian and Mel said they would be there at 11:00. I hate getting there that early, especially if we find this is not going to be a mob, but I'm willing to get there at 11:00 or very shortly thereafter if other people are willing to. It would be a pity to make the effort to go and then not be able to sit together as a group in good seats. So it will be 11:00 for me, too.

I don't like that answer. The zombie-clown thinks you better reconsider. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/3864985093_667016fe79.jpg

I'll check back to watch if the 2nd show sells out. If it does, I'll see you there at 11 or so. On the other hand, if the 2nd show doesn't sell out, I'll post something to this thread saying what my plan is.
-
Kewl. Since it starts at midnight, should we try to meet at the ticket area around 11:50 or so? Or, with the sell-out, do you think we should try to get there earlier so that there's a better chance at good seats all together?
-
One of the two shows is already sold-out according to the theatre's web site. I advise you to act now if you wanna go tonight. Time to nut-up or shut-up.

That's gonna be one very cold, wet round of golf.

Probably best to buy your ticket online in advance. I'm willing to get one for you and then have you pay me. Either PM me or post here how many tix you need.

Thursday Oct 1st 11:59 p.m. Any takers on the midnight showing at Rave? http://www.movietickets.com/movie_detail.asp?movie_id=68156

Scott will lend you a hand when no one else will step up -- he's helped me out many times. I can't rep you enough

I'm finding it difficult to have much sympathy for you, you who have a life behind the hedges that most of us here would envy ....

:funny: Even if I had felt your cars and intro were trash, I would positive rep you for producing this effect in this individual. Welcome!

You would have been fine, Ryan. This wasn't some advanced cornering course, just a jaunt over some bucolic, seldom-traveled roads. Everyone rides his own ride--in other words, you don't ride faster than you are comfortable doing. If people spread out, then the leaders stopped every so often to ensure that we all had stayed on course. I led at the beginning while the roads were wet and also led through the more confusing areas, but most of the time I took up the rear of the pack because I'm the slowest and also to make sure no one strayed off. A new rider, or a very cautious rider, or the average cruiser rider could not have kept up with this group today, but would have been riding with me at the back and would still have had a blast. I never set up an informal ride with much advance notice. That's because I don't enjoy riding in crummy weather, and it's hard to accurately forecast weather more than a day or two in advance. It's also quite a challenge to find an acceptable time/duration/destination for people. The best I can do is to post here when I'm planning on doing a ride that I think others might enjoy, then see if someone takes me up on the invitation. I will try to remember to PM you if I set-up another ride soon. I can almost guarantee that I will be taking people up to Holmes County (Amish country) when the leaves begin to turn. It needs to be about a 6-7 hour ride. I will also go down into Hocking Hills at least once this fall, although it may be with cars instead of bikes. A good group who do rides is Ohio Riders http://www.ohio-riders.net/. A number of CR members are with them, and CASPER, an adminstrator on CR is the leader of Ohio Riders. Sometimes they mix some camping in with the bike events. Very friendly people. Keep the shiny side up

Yes, it was a lot of fun. I've explored these roads over the years, but it's always enjoyable for me to share these secrets with other bikers ..... especially people who ride as well you all did. That Andy's deadly fast--and only on an old KZ500! I'm not sure I've ever in person seen a group of riders all go around a 35 mph curve at triple digits (the way you guys did in Mexico). Those roads are superb because on most of the curves you have a commanding view of any obstacles or approaching traffic. At lunch, Mike said, "I knew if I got separated from the group, I'd never find my way home.... there's nothing for miles." You noticed that there wasn't a single cop the whole day. BTW, there were 8 of us Paul. Thankfully, you weren't the one making sure no one got left behind! I have to admit, it was a shock when, 10 minutes into the ride, Josh pulls up to me and tries to tell me that a rider already needed gas. For gawdsakes, you guys all met up at a gas station! To make it more comical, I had hearing protection inside my helmet, and when Josh was yelling, "The guy on the gixxer needs gas," all I could make out was "The guy on the gixxer is deaf." Seemed like a funny thing to stop a tour in the middle of the road for. Next tour, I'll show you some other fun routes in a different part of central Ohio, yet seemingly far, far away from here.

Well, the bad news is that it is still raining in Delaware and Columbus as of 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The good news is that the area we're riding into is now dry, and there are clearing skies to the west. There is still sunshine in the forecast for today by 11 a.m. I'm still in favor of sticking to the original plan. Postponing it by a few hours would decrease the chance of wet roads, but would exclude at least one rider. Dover, your bike would be fine on this route. This isn't full of tight turns like Hocking Hills; it's mostly gentle rolling hills and a few sweepers, with fewer than a dozen sharp turns. I'll check this thread again by 8:30 a.m., but after that I won't be near a computer, so you'll need to call my cell 740-405-5565 for any updates.

Check first post of thread for finalized information. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather will clear as predicted. If so, it will be an ideal day for biking!

Wow, a Ruger with some Thompson parts on it? That's some Chicago piano, as we used to say when I was a youngster.

Heard you're down a lot, oil leak or no .... http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Ericdown.jpg

The Irish blessing that begins, "May the road rise up to greet you ...." is not intended to be taken literally ....

If no one else needs it and you would just throw it away, feel free to take out that Photat building on Balmaceda in Valparaiso, Chile, owned by DCEROUNO.
-
There are bound to be a few curbs along whichever route we take, so it would be way too dangerous for you. Now go play outside in the rain. This is grown-up talk in here.

Just post to this thread the name of the street and the owner, and what you want done (bulldoze, hazard, etc.), and the CR hit squad will take it from there.

Updated 7 p.m. Saturday evening It's hard to plan a trip everyone can enjoy! Josh (Ford 351 Lightning) is bringing 3 other riders from (almost) Lancaster for this and wants to leave at 11 for a 3-6 hour trip, but Chad needs to be back for a 3 p.m meet. Also, it's a mix of sport bikes and supermotards. Here's what I've come up with: Meet at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Glick Road and Riverside Dr.(SR 257), south of the old entrance to the Columbus Zoo. This is the east side of the O'Shannassy Resorvoir. There is an abandoned building on the east side of the road, and the parking is very easy to see from any direction. I believe the building used to be the Wyandotte Inn. [Josh: 10121 Riverside Drive, Powell, Ohio] We should be rolling by 10:30 a.m. at the latest. We'll follow the River into Delaware County, head west to around Mad River Ski Resort, explore a castle (leg stretching & restroom break for those too afraid to go into the castle ), then head back towards Columbus. If time allows and if people want to, we can do some photography of you coming around the curves near the Ohio Caverns. Bring your own camera if you want to do this; I won't be carrying one. A turnoff near Marysville will allow people like Chad to turn down US Route 33 and head towards I-270 to get back to Columbus by 2 p.m. If you want, you can follow me from Marysville and take US 36 east to Delaware and take a refreshment break at my garage, maybe head off for some late lunch. I'm willing to ride along with you to whatever point from which you know your way home. For most, it will be either I-270 or I-71. Except for the outerbelt around Marysville (which is multi-lane highway), this route stays on county roads or rural highways. No gravel or dirt. Ride your own ride. I won't let you get lost (since I'm probably the slowest anyway). Don't show up with an empty tank and make the group stop after 10 miles! :gtfo: Questions? PM me or call 740-405-5565.

I'm at 50 million but have only been playing for a week and have just one account. Cred05 provided much-needed help in neutralizing a local 5-account bully. Thanks! My local leaderboard shows CRED05 as #1 and shows me at #3. Long streets in areas without other players seems to be the strategy I'm settling on. Building cheap housing works best when you really need a bulldozer or a protective building, whereas the best return comes from really long streets with expensive buildings that still get good rent returns. I avoid the four-sided castle and above as long as I don't run low on building sites. If I buy a street and it doesn't show a good return on buildings (such as a 15,000 rent on a green house), I sell that street to keep my number of streets as close to five as possible. I got burned by offering two streets in a trade to another player. Both those streets are small, the other player has NOT acted on the offer, thus those two streets are tied-up for seven days and can't be sold or traded. Right now, they're each costing me 3% each in taxes. If I could, I'd sell them in a heartbeat. Even giving them away would be cheaper than the taxes I'm paying.

Sorry.... shows my ignorance of battle rifles. And your point's a valid one--what good's a 28 gauge side-by-side against a island infestation of zombies or terrorists? The most threatening thing I've ever shot is a clay target.

Welcome, John. I saw you at the track. I hope you make it to a few meets as well. +rep
