  1. Well, I'm a tech guy, but since I'm a teacher I'm a not working at all type right now. For a few more weeks that is. Not much into coffee, but at the right place I can grab a beer. And I live near Hilliard.
  2. Looks like a sweet car. Welcome.
  3. Ruby Tuesdays huh? I'll have to check that out. I haven't had any on tap since I visited a friend in Pittsburgh. The one I'm looking for is Penn Dark. Damn I miss that stuff.
  4. I am running 315 35 17s on the rear of my 95 Camaro. They are Torque Thrust 2s and fit like a dream. No modifications necessary. The car is not lowered. ,Rick 7 inch backspace on 17x11 wheels
  5. Heya Rob, I might be interested in the heads at some point. But that Ford 9" we have been talking about needs to come first. The cam is a Comp Cams 280 XFI. http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/CamDetails.aspx?csid=1111&sb=0 The heads are stock with some mild port work. Also intake ports were matched to the heads. We used the stock valves but put new 918 Beehive valve springs on them. 1.6 ratio roller rockers from GM Performance (leftovers from my LT4 Hot Cam kit). Thanks for asking. ,Rick
  6. I have it up on craigslist right now for $250, if someone on CR wants it I'll let them go for $200 http://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/1285118690.html ,Rick
  7. They have done my intake, valve covers and strut tower brace. The work has been outstanding and the price seems reasonable to me. They were recommended to me by Bruce from Skunkworx Custom Cycles. http://www.myspace.com/performancepowdercoating
  8. That's a shame, I've never had bad service and the food has always been top notch
  9. Best I know you can do is delay it. As a teacher I had a choice of leaving my class for 2 weeks or delay till summer. A week after I was done a friend who is a trial lawyer was scheduled to start. Even he could not get out of it.
  10. As an interviewer, I will make the assumption that during the interview is the best I will ever see you dress. If you come to the interview in khakis and polo, then I'm going to wonder how you will dress for work every day? Bring 2 or 5 copies of your resume (never know how many people you may be interviewing with), have references ready. Both should be printed on high quality paper.
  11. I'm thinking of getting rid of my Saturn and replacing it with an Impala SS. Problem is the girlfriend loves the power sunroof in the Saturn and doesn't want me to give it up. I haven't found any Impalas with sunroofs, so I figure I'll need an aftermarket one. Where is a good place to get a power sunroof installed for a fair price?
  12. I'm up for a track day. My car will be ready for some test passes by then. My preference is a 1/4 mile strip. Cost is an issue, but not a huge one.
  13. I have long tubes, ORY and a Magnaflow that I love. Nice deep rumble at idle. Loud when I put my foot into it, but not REALLY loud. Especially for the cost I love the Magnaflow.
  14. I'm definitely a newb on this site. I have yet to make a track day, show, or otherwise. I have this one on my calendar, but I'm a maybe at best. I may or may not be in town that weekend. I'll know when the date gets closer. Thank you. ,Rick
  15. I've never been much of a ford guy, but damn that looks good.
  16. Was a bad IAC. Pulled the throttle body, and plugged the IAC into the harness. Turned on the car and the pin didn't move. Tried another IAC and the pin moved. Installed the working one and she starts up and rumbles now. When we finish getting broken in we'll head over to Dynotune and get her dialed in. Thanks guys.
  17. We didn't get a chance to work on it yesterday. Today we should get a chance to look at the IAC, but we'll probably also take a look at the block off plates on the back of the intake. Probably also take another quick look at the throttle body gasket.
  18. Heya guys. The 383 is finally together and we fired it up today for the first time. She fired up and seems to be running well except the idle is high. She should idle at 875, but is idling around 1500 - 1600 RPM. The map sensor reading with the engine off is .99 and with the engine running is between .3 and .35. We assumed a vaccum leak, but all the hoses are new, we've checked and rechecked them (and again). We've sprayed brake cleaner around the intake with no change. What else could cause a high idle like this? Details: 95 Z28 M6 Golen street/strip 383 shortblock Ported stock heads and intake (stock valves) Stock throttle body (until I can get an ASM unit) 42 lb injectors stock fuel pressure regulator Comp Cams XFI cam Long tube headers emissions deleted K&N FIPK Stock MAF PCMforless tune Other than the idle she is running well, no leaks, no smoke, fires right up. What else am I missing? .Rick
  19. Good read. I too can see a lot of truth in that. On a separate note, I am a tech school teacher. However I preach to my kids they need at least an associates degree to work in IT. I push VERY FEW of them toward bachelors or higher degrees. ,Rick
