Yeah, the optispark is a turd. Not sure how much crack you have to smoke before that sounds like a good idea. That issue aside, I love my LT1s. Even though mine is running great, I will probably swap out the Opti this winter since the old one has 130k miles on it. I don't see the point of doing just a cap and rotor since I have to pull the water pump to get to it, may as well replace the whole thing with a brand new one.
I can't go to the game, so we auctioned my tickets off at school. Proceeds will go to a college scholarship for one of our kids. 2 tickets brought $500, and could have brough $600 except one guy missed out on the bidding. If people are willing to pay that much money, then ticket holders will ask that much money.
94 - 96 Impala SS ... nice family hauler, decent gas mileage, fast enough to be fun to drive and a big enough fuel tank to be a good road trip car. Nice comfy interior too.
650 is not a bad size bike to test on if you are used to big bikes. I learned to ride on a 1000cc Iron Head Harley. I borrowed a 650 for the test (felt like I was riding a moped). 650 is classified as a big bike, so you get to use the big box for the U-turn etc... Hell, I could have done figure 8s in that box with the 650.
AAA is a great service. The only thing I would add is a story I was told which might change what you buy. A mechanic friend of mine broke down only a few miles from home. He wanted to have the car towed to school so he could work on it there. Basic AAA would not tow that far, and he had to wait with the car for the tow truck. Gold service would tow without him and that far. She let him upgrade from basic to gold over the phone that day. His advice to me was to get AAA regular, then if you need the gold service upgrade then. If you don't end up needing gold level service you saved a few bucks.
79's were notorious pains in the butt. Take your time, don't cheap out, do it right the first time and she'll treat you right. J&P has most everything you'll need. For everything else find a machine shop you trust. Col-Weld did all the machine work for mine. I have a crap ton of left over old parts from mine you're welcome to rummage though. Some rebuildable, some not.
I bought the replacement harness from J&P. Only thing is you have to solder all the connectors on, but otherwise it's a good idea. The wiring on yours is probably as hacked up/brittle/broken as mine was on my '75. Let me know if I can help, I don't have a lot of technical skill, but I have a lot of knowledge from my old cast iron bitch.

This is a good enough reason to visit anyplace.
Hell, in that case just go to a strip club. At least then you don't have to undress them with your eyes.
Brian, I just picked up a 94 Impala SS I would like to get done. School is back in session, so I'm limited on time. When could we get this done? Thanks.
A teacher of mine presented an interesting idea years ago. Issue people drinking licenses the same as drivers licenses. If someone gets caught DUI, then they have to choose which to give up. Now I do understand that people would continue to drink even without a drinking license, but it's no different than people who continue to drive with a suspended drivers license.
Yeah, they photoshopped out the black guy for the polish ad. Interesting. The links are working correctly for me .... maybe it's because I'm not using a Microsoft browser
He did my 95 Z28 on Friday. The quality is phenomenal. My back window was a pain in the butt for him for some unknown reason, but he took his time and made it right.
The dots at the top of the glass did not allow the tint to bond to the window correctly. He told me normally what he does is to trim the tint below the dots (probably around the line for the rear window defrost) and cut a piece of black vinyl to fit and cover the dots. He did not have any vinyl with him that day, but I probably will do that at a later date.
BTW, it looked so good I went home and brought back my Honda for him to do.
I'm always open to new information. AVG has served me well for 5 or 6 years, and never cost me a dime. But if there are better free options out there I'm all ears. Why does AVG suck?
I used to own one just like that. Had the same cap and everything. It was lowered though. Was supposed to be lowered with springs, but turned out they were just cut factory springs. Lowering blocks in the rear. I don't recommend the cut factory springs ... the thing rode and handled like a tractor. Mine also constantly had crap going wrong with it, so I dumped it for a huge loss and bought my Camaro, almost identical to the one in your sig. Just out of curiosity, is your stance problem because of lowering blocks on the rear springs? What is the stance with the cap off?
