  1. That sucks. I was in line a few cars back to make my first pass of the day. I was hoping the damage wasn't going to be too bad.
  2. If you are not in a hurry there are places around town you can have the pump and motor rebuilt. A friend did it a while back. I had All Season spas diagnose and replace a pump and motor and it ran be about $1000. I had trouble sitting down for a while after that one. From now on I'll try fixing it myself first. For the filter housing, if you can get to the crack I would probably try epoxy and fiberglass. It doesn't need to hold pressure, just not leak. I have fixed a plastic pond this way. As for valves I would guess you can find what you need on Amazon.
  3. Going to have to miss it this time. (Again)
  4. The trophies open to all competitors? Or is this street car only stuff?
  5. Welcome back. Too much sunshine and good weather for you? You moved back at the right time I guess. Nice vette, what kind of racing do you do?
  6. I'll have an extra. Not sure the size. Probably large.
  7. I want to make it out. Been a while for me.
  8. I assume Dyno Brian can get you taken care of. I know he has tuned Harleys in the past. http://www.dynotunemotorsports.com/
  9. I read all kinds of things when I was thinking of filling mine with royal purple. I chose to go with the manufacturer recommendation when I read about other fluids breaking down the backing plates(?) on the gears. It's been quite a while since I researched it though. I opted for traditional in the differential also when I read about fluid so slippery that the clutches in the posi unit would slip and burn up. With my RPM T56 and the Moser rear end I am running fully synthetic fluids.
  10. Joe, please buy this before I break down and buy it myself.
  11. Getting it ready this weekend. Already have the new set of belts (2 year expiration my ass). Just need to change all the fluids and reset the valves. There wasn't anything wrong when I put it up, so I'm hoping nothing major happens pulling it back out.
  12. Bring me the kit from amazon with the motors and the cluster and I'll do it right then. Heck I can even teach you how to do it if you want. Takes more time to crack open the cluster and get the board out than it does to desolder the old motor out and solder the new one in. Seriously, if there are no problems it's about a 15 minute job.
  13. Any progress on getting the title cleared up on this?
  14. Looks like my link was incorrect. Those were the motors for the tach and fuel gauge. Think this is the correct kit. http://www.amazon.com/stepper-speedometer-repair-instrument-cluster/dp/B00S0X199U/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Buick%7C45&Model=LeSabre%7C388&Year=2004%7C2004&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=2&vehicleType=automotive
  15. I would try replacing the stepper motor. http://www.amazon.com/Stepper-Motors-Cluster-Odometer-Tachometer/dp/B00D10JXY0 Getting the cluster out is the most difficult part of the process. Desoldering the old motor out and soldering the new one is is pretty easy with the right tools. I have done a bunch for our autotech program. If you get the parts and pull the cluster I would be willing to help replace the stepper motor. Replace all the motors or just the one, your choice.
  16. That's awesome man! You're not going to forget us little guys now that you made the bigtime, right?
  17. We dropped DirecTV last year about this time. I was really only going to miss the DVR feature. I invested in a box called Tablo. Plug in a digital antenna and an external hard drive and you can watch live or recorded TV on any PC or moble device. I added Roku boxes to our TVs so we can watch. Setup was a little pricey, but compared to DirecTV it's a bargain. Paid for itself in 5 months. All I pay is a small fee for the guide service. For sports we go out. Doesn't save much that way, but we'd be going out whether we had DirecTV or not, so in the end I think it is a cost saver.
  18. I'd be tempted to go with something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8WV3X98560 Has a com port, built to take abuse.
  19. Bought the Noob Slayer pack a while ago. The Beta is open if you have android, but all you can do is take territory and mine energy and gold. You cannot do anything else at this point.
  20. My window installer retired, but I bought all the windows and doors I installed through APCO. The windows are Simonton and I like them a lot. I know APCO has contract installers. I've worked with them before and while the project did not go well it was not their fault (the sub-contractor screwed up royally, and APCO made it right). I would not hesitate to contact them again for work.
  21. Depending on the price I might be up for one as well. My wife has been nostalgic lately about Mario Golf.
  22. If you want a beater that gets good gas mileage I would grab it. My '96 has almost 230k on it now. Runs like a champ, gets better than 30 mpg and high 30s highway. I don't think it would be a mistake. I also don't think you would lose money on it.
