  1. My vote goes for a Cadillac hearse. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-CADILLAC-HEARSE-/271253315066?forcev4exp=true Big and roomy, comfy ride. Plenty of space to haul things. Stands out in a crowd. Huge vertical surface for advertising. Most are very gently used. Maybe even work a slogan around it, "We can revive the dead".
  2. That's not any law I've ever heard of. The local school district may have a policy for how employees deal with fights though. With enough digging you should be able to find it if you want. Legally though the school (employees) takes the place of the parent when the student is at school, on the bus, etc... I think the legal term is "en loco parentis". The rules about breaking up a fight are pretty vague. Personally I would have liked to see the driver make an effort to protect the student. In part I question the school administration. We encourage kids to let us know when something is going on in the school. Putting the 4 of them on the bus after 1 accused the other 3 of dealing is a questionable decision in my opinion.
  3. Don't forget about not wearing seat belts, sitting the front seat, and my personal favorite the 100 lb. TV on the 5 lb. stand. Looks like a cool project. I'll bet your kid looks back at pictures years from now and smiles at his wagon that his dad built for him.
  4. http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2013/08/07/newark-drivers-caught-racing.html NEWARK, Ohio - Newark Police say five, possibly six people, were racing at speeds of a hundred miles or more along State Route 16 early Monday morning. They caught one of the drivers, who is now facing the consequences. But police have a bigger warning. 10TV has learned that a 19-year-old driver was racing in his 1998 Ford Mustang and was pulled over for speeding at 126 miles per hour. That's 71 miles over the posted 55 mile per hour speed limit. Police say all the drivers are lucky they did not cause an accident. "Going that fast, he easily could have killed somebody," said Newark Police Sergeant Paul Davis. Police say they first noticed the 19-year-old man driving westbound on Route 16 at a speed of 119 miles per hour. Police say there were four other vehicles speeding near him at more than a hundred miles per hour. Then for some reason, police say the driver turned around and came back the other way, eastbound on 16. A police officer was operating a laser speed detector at the Church Street overpass, and says he clocked the Mustang at 126 miles per hour. When the driver pulled off the highway at 21st Street, another officer was waiting for him. "He did admit he was racing when we first stopped him," said Sgt. Davis. Asked if this was an ongoing issue, Sgt. Davis said, “We've had reports before on 16 - problems with people speeding up and down, racing." Police say they will continue to watch these highways closely, and they warn of the potential deadly consequences of racing. "They need to think twice about it,” added Sgt. Davis, “because not only can they hurt themselves, but there are so many other people they can hurt, and they can't take that back.” The 19-year-old driver faces a huge fine, and because of the high speed, he must appear before a judge. 10TV has also learned that this same man got pulled over in the last year for speeding at 97 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone. That second violation could make his penalty even greater now. 10TV recently completed an investigation into speed violations of 90 miles per hour and higher across the state. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Licking County was third in the state out of 88 counties for the most violations - a 12 percent increase from 2011 to 2012 for a total of 856. The patrol says most of the Licking County violations occurred along I-70. But there were 14 violations over that period on State Route 16, which don't take into account local law enforcement numbers. Whatever the numbers, police say they are too many. And they say if people don't slow down, more lives will be at risk.
  5. I teach in Plain City at Tolles Career & Technical Center. We are the career center that serves Hilliard, Dublin, Jonathan Alder, London, Fairbanks, West Jeff and Madison Plains.
  6. Sounds very cool! Hope the new position works out for you. On a side note, if you have any free sample type stuff I know our engineering design teacher would be interested in. He has been taking the programs toward renewable energy concepts.
  7. Sorry man, got busy with some projects yesterday and didn't get back on here. Glad to hear you got yours taken care of.
  8. I have a Walbro 255 around here somewhere left over from when I was going to run dual pumps. It's never been used. Got it from IPS a while back.
  9. Looks like a pretty decent selection of guns as well as a bunch of other stuff. http://www.hocking.net/ocopp/Aug17/Pic1.htm
  10. I saw this video in a science class I took recently. I thought this was incredibly cool.
  11. This statement makes me pretty uncomfortable. Not all, but most kids need someone to push them. While the content can be delivered online there needs to be someone fulfilling the role of the teacher. It cannot be the computer. So, is the kid going to teach herself, or is her mother going to shoulder that burden? Or are you going to do it? If she really doesn't like her school, and this is about a change of setting, have you looked at the career centers? I'm a career tech instructor and I'd be happy to talk with you about what our kinds of schools have to offer.
  12. I have one as well you can borrow. It's an older one low resolution 1024x768 I think. Has a VGA port and S-video.
  13. Buy it. She'll have a first car that she has an investment in. She will earn it instead of being given it. She'll learn to drive a vehicle with no training wheels. I think the belts and disc brakes are a good idea too.
  14. There is a woot-off going on right now. You might find a decent deal on something. Normally I go down to Microcenter and see what they have for refurbished laptops. Last time I was there they had several options that were pretty inexpensive.
  15. I'd say that if the brakes work correctly without the line lock, then it's not the pressure differential switch. If it is the differential switch, then wouldn't the drivers side wheel release while the passenger side stays locked?
  16. Mine is a Lincoln Powermig 140C and I love it. But I was told by people who know better than me not to bother trying to weld aluminum with it. It has worked great for the little stuff I have done with it. I think $500 sounds a little high to me for something without a warranty.
  17. Add another for Barleys, but I'm talking about the smokehouse in Grandview. Those are by far the best wings I've ever eaten in my life. Smoked until the meat just falls off the bone. Even their hot wings "Gates of Hell" taste good, not just heat but lots of great flavor.
  18. Unless you know for sure your blast media is okay for powdercoating then you need to double check. I blasted my intake before I took it to performance, then found out you can't use glass bead media for powdercoating. They had to blast it over again to get the surface right for the powder.
  19. Curt, where are you located now? You guys are not in the little shop by his house? I've been meaning to stop by and say hi to Eric. I haven't seen him since he fixed up my water pump a year or so back.
  20. x3 They did great work on my brakes, valve covers, intake and strut tower brace.
  21. As long as it's steel I can probably do it for you.
  22. Interesting. I'd like to see how this works out. I have a USP 9mm I love, but converting it to a match would be great. You might talk with Eric Grimes. He runs a small machine shop on the west side. Last time I talked with him he had moved on from automotive machining to firearms. The last number I had for him was 248.459.9827
  23. "Sony has been eerily silent about all of these issues to date, at least in any official capacity." Of course they are being quiet. Never interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake.
  24. Have you thought about just ordering up a level 5 T56 from RPM? That was the route I went. I know bits and pieces about lots of different things, but one thing I know about transmissions is to leave it to the professionals. Some of the stuff RPM does for their level 5 T-56s Solid keys Bronze fork pads Bronze shifter bushing (n/a for Corvette) Steel 3-4 shifter fork RPM modified 1-2 shifter fork Hand fit sliders and hubs New Compressed Carbon blocking rings
