I completely understand.

She has a mint 2000 Toyota Tundra we found as a garage queen that was immaculate. That's her daily driver. She wants something fun for the summer since we sold her Harley Sportster. No off roading capability needed, which will discourage her from taking it off road and breaking things I have to fix. No A/C needed. I think the big thing is top off, no doors, cruising around in the summer. I would guess her budget for a jeep is about $3000. Keeping her from buying a shit pile just because it's in her price range is my primary goal.

We're going ahead with it. Some changes will be that everything will be outside, craft fair included. Looking for sponsors if anyone is interested or knows someone who is. Adding kit car class and hotrod class this year based on request from last year. October 3rd, gates open at 8:00, Registration closes at 11:00, Awards at 2:00. We will be giving away an award for the best represented club. I'd love to give the award to CR. It will be based solely on car(vehicle) counts for each club. https://carshowpro.com/event/613

Thanks guys. Think I dodged a bullet on this one. Based on his price and I mentioned the rust and transmission to her she decided to back peddle on this deal. Kerry, I owe you a beer. Otis, Mitch, and Clay you're welcome to join us.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I think it would be fun to have a jeep, but the wife is crazy about the idea and would most likely jump on any deal she can find. Pulling her back from a bad deal is my biggest concern. There will be NO mods, motor swaps, etc for this because she doesn't have the money for the jeep itself, much less a lot of upgrades. Unfortunately this one is in Logan, so doubt I could get it up here for an inspection. All the talk of rust makes me VERY leary of what the plastidip job is covering up. Dude want's $4500 for it which I think is crackhead high, unless it genuinely is perfect and all the above issues with trans, ecu, etc... have been handled.

I hate this. My wife has been hot on buying a jeep for a couple years now. A friend of a friend of hers is selling an 89 Wranger. Claims nothing is wrong with it and he daily drives it. Apparently it's black underneath a puke green plastidip job. 5 speed manual, 4 cylinder, 120k miles. What do I need to watch out for?

Guess I should give an update. I've been bouncing around a bunch of different ideas in my head. The gun still shoots, so I've been continuing to shoot our club steel matches with it. I decided to more of a deep cleaning than I normally do. Without going beyond field stripping it I did clean the ever living shit out of it. In about 150 rounds I only had 1 light strike, and it fired on the second pull. If I'm going to sink money into work I may have it upgraded to the match trigger or the LEM trigger at the same time. Both of those kits replace the same springs we're already talking about.

Many schools are starting to come out with plans right now. Many of them depend on the alert level of the county they are in. Franklin is alert level 3 right now (red). IF schools were to start tomorrow I think most would be 100% remote. Madison where I teach is Orange (level 2) which I'm not sure what that means for us, but guessing we would be in session in person in rotations. If you have kids at home I would start planning for kids schooling at home now. No guarantee it will happen, but especially in Franklin county it's likely at some time this year. The interesting thing for me, is we are in Madison County, but I live in Franklin county and the majority of our students come from Franklin county. So, who's level we follow will be interesting.

FS: Beretta 686 field 12ga28"
Richard Cranium replied to Radio Flyer1647545514's topic in Other Stuff
MSRP on the Baretta site is $2350. Vances lists something similar for $2000. So assume the condition is perfect, sounds like a fair price. Damn I want this, but I've already spent too much on guns this summer. I've been wanting to get into trap shooting. My club just installed a trap that can throw doubles. -
I've been having some light primer strikes lately with my HK USP 9mm. I've had it since 1996 and it's been flawless until lately. I had intentions on shipping it back to HK, but I'm finding that the shipping costs and rules are pretty outrageous since I cannot ship it USPS. If I'm going to spent north of $100 to ship it to HK I might as well see if I can support a local gunsmith. Anyone have any recommendations?

Damn, that's slick looking. How does it shoot? I picked up a Foxtrot Mike AR-9 pistol a month back and love it.

If it's so amazing, then why is he wanting to trade it away for what you have?

Ohio No front plate on July 1, any updates?
Richard Cranium replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Passing Lane
The front plate is about to fall off my 96 civic. Guess I'll finish the job now. Camaro plate is coming off. Probable pull the plate from the Avalanche as well. -
I'm hearing all the bike shops are backed WAY up from the shutdown. Everyone got bored, got their bikes out, broke shit, and now it's waiting for service. Check with Dave from Big Fans he does a lot of his own basic maintenance, might be able to help you out.

I'm pretty well stocked up on powder and primers. Have never heard of that powder, and I'm a little hesitant to more away from Accurate 7 that I've been using. What brand are the primers?

Holley Pro-Jection EFI kit - re-install or sell?
Richard Cranium replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Tech and Tips
If you're planning on pounding miles on the van, then I guess the fuel mileage would be important. I would think the fuel injection would be more reliable long term. I don't know about that kit, but the Holley kit we put on the dragster is bad ass. If they are even close, then I say it's not even a question. -
I decided on the Dillon xl750. Bought it with the case feeder and a set of 9mm dies. I'd be interested in any extras you have around that will fit this monster, particularly the .223 dies for when I pick up an AR.

That's more accurate than you think. Seems every year or two I pick up something new. 3D printing will be with me for quite a while though. Since then I have built and am finishing up a CNC Wood Router which was the next phase of this hobby. Right now I'm getting ready to buy a progressive reloading press for 9mm ammo. Before this it was carpentry. Before that it was home brewing beer and wine. I'm still trying to find time to get back to the racetrack too. On a side note I have a story I've been needing to tell someone (anyone). I have the ANET A8 and it's HEAVILY modded. There is almost nothing left of the original printer. If it's original it's at least modified if not replaced. My last upgrade was an E3Dv6 hotend and converted to a bowden feeder. I was struggling to get it to print right. Prints were lifting off the glass bed, first layer issues galore, nothing was working right. I got fed up and turned it off and walked away. Fast forward a couple months to last night. I needed a part and had the STL to print it. In the meantime I had done a full PC upgrade including new Hard drive and I wiped out my old OS for a clean install (way over due for that). I had not installed Cura yet, so I downloaded the latest version last night and got it running. Plugged the printer back in and Octoprint fired right back up ready to go. I could not find my previous settings for Cura, so decided to start from scratch. Since the printer is basically a Prusa I3 knockoff, I started with the base configuration for that printer. I had to fix a broken filament, but then it fired up and printed ..... perfectly. The first time! The settings are not completely different than before, but it's printing amazing right now. In the last 14 hours it's probably been busy printing 8 of them. I had one failure earlier today of a part that broke free of the bed (This is a tough print anyhow), but I'm amazed at how quickly I was able to get it back running with stock settings.

I have a box of failed prints and excess PLA. Does anyone have a good option for recycling this stuff? The right place could simply melt this stuff down and re-extrude it into filament as far as I know.
