  1. If you weld the rear diff, every time you turn the inside tire will be trying to push the vehicle to go straight. (which is why it wears out so fast) With the one tire trying to push the vehicle straight, every time you try to round a turn on a dry road under acceleration you will feel the vehicle getting out of shape (squirrely like) When you do the same action on a wet of mildly snowy road it will push the back of the vehicle around the front almost instantly just it did to you this morning.
  2. Any thoughts as of yet what your gonna do for a fuel system bud?
  3. I went last night. The track was hot and slick. Car ran well once it got past the 60 foot mark. Best I could muster was 1.57 and my usual is around 1.47-1.49. Here's a vid of a time trial.
  4. A friend of mine looked at a car at that same lot a few years ago. He asked me to come look at the car with him later and when we were pulling up to the place I told him any cars sold at this lot can't be good. Just look at the place, it's some ones house. Once we got out all the cars were dirty and most of them looked pretty rough. I know that not exactly every single one of the cars had to be a pile of junk but 1st impressions tell a lot about a place. On another note, I have found that there is rarely a true great deal on a car, especially at a car lot. No reasonable car lot is going to look at a vehicle and say something to the effect of "Gee, I really want to help someone out. Instead of asking what this wonderfully perfect car is worth, I'm gonna take a lose on the car and take $3000 off of my asking price!" I personally would rather pay what the car books for (give or take) at a reputable lot and get some kind of warranty and peace of mind. Even if the warranty is only 30 days/3000 miles which most good lots have. Either way I hope you find the problem is simple and inexpensive. I always liked those cars. I drove one when they first came out wanted one ever since. Well, at least till I found out all the problems they seem to have.
  5. Now Tim, is this very "daddy" like? :lolguy::lolguy::lolguy:

  7. Can you hear the fuel pump run after you cycle the key? If not, try spraying a little bit of starting fluid it it. Just take the maf loose and spray behind it and then put the maf back and try to crank it. See if you get a small attempt for the engine to actually fire. If it does try to start then you probably have a fuel pump bad. I know you said it had some fuel pressure, but it may not have enough. You should have between 56-62 PSI of fuel pressure for that car. Of course there is also the possibility that if you don't have fuel pressure it could be the anti theft system also.
  8. Hmmm... I almost felt bad for the guy. But if you want to carry it around and then I don't feel bad for him. It's his life, he can live it however he wants.
  9. You made me laugh out loud Steve. People are looking at me. :lolguy:
  10. I think what everyone expects to see here is one person possibly not commenting anything or if said person does it will be nothing more than "hey guys, welcome to the site". A comment to which many people may poke the provebial bees nest by saying things such as "what about all the *** cars you claim to have killed?" In reality I would expect this thread to be nothing more than an archive by the end of the week. By the way, UGR, best or not you guys turn out one hell of a product and I admire what all you have accomplished. Congrats on your success!!!
  11. Looks like the rental agency has that all covered.
  12. The anticipation of banter is killing me.
  13. I know right!!! Who cares how pretty it looks after it's done? Skip the cosmetic surgery and be happy you don't have a teenager swinging from your ball sack.
  14. No way dude, it has a bad tranny and bad wiring like every Hyundai ever made does!!!
  15. Well then after it gets done of course.
  16. Hey D Wiggs, I have $30, can I use your SV to run to the mall?
  17. I thought Dover was a guy??? He's a cutie. Good luck!
  18. That sound we all just heard was the gloves hitting the floor. :lolguy: Welcome!!!!
  19. If I had to guess, I'd say its a theft deterrent issue. Might be best to have it scanned by a dealer. Maybe someone here has something that can read the body modules. My MODIS took a crap this morning and I won't see my SO dealer till Friday. Even then I don't know if he will be able to get it back up on the spot. May be a good reason to upgrade to a VERSUS???????? P.S. I had a similar problem with my 2004 GTP. Wouldn't start and turned out to be a door lock sensor on the right front door causing the anti-theft system to not allow the engine to start.
  20. Is the light on the dash blinking faster?
  21. does your car have keyless entry?
  22. Engine coolant temp circuit high output.
  23. I do not like Sprint. When I first got my phone it was a Nextel and I rarely had problems with signal. When I switched from Nextel to sprint I started having problems. I always buy good phones so I know thats not the problem. I always stayed with Sprint because I was a "premier account". They ditched the premier accounts and now I no longer can get a new phone every year. I have a little under a year left of my contract. When my contract is over I have every intention to switch to AT&T. I'm sure there are opinions here about AT&T but I get a discount through my work and my work phone seems to always have good service.
