Have been in there shop a number of times, they are just about 15 minutes away from us and MAN do those guys have their shit together. Focused on exactly what they do and turning out high quality product on the daily. Nice to see them getting some more positive media, that dyno video was some HUGE buzz that will hopefully be converted into additional business.

TA was pretty decent, spent more than a few hours playing TA : Kingdoms back in the day

Good for you man, sounds like a great path to a fun street machine. Make sure to document as you go, other peoples headaches are always fun to watch

Advice from the guy who can't take his own advice and is now building um... 3 cars.. at the same time Make a plan, get it set, and build it to plan. As soon as you start changing this and that mid build time tables and costs go out the damn window. Ask me how I know

Have played them all since the beginning, they were a ground breaking franchise when first come out however there hasn't really been much in the way of development aside from reskinning and some basic optimization as they have aged. Still fun, but more of a single player thing for me. Only thing I currently have installed from the "Good ole Days" is Empire Earth II which I play pretty damn often. Otherwise I have a done of the old stuff on ISO images so I can load up the Daemon tools and go!

Just stick to a plan and tell all of us to shut the fuck up

Totally understand, looks like you've planned out a pretty reasonable path for yourself. Now just don't post about it til it's done or you'll have all of us trying to change your build with SUGGESTIONS

I'm in the same boat with you Rick, and Dune 2 was a GREAT one! Pardon me while I summon some Freman on your ass ... Surprise! Turned based games never got into my blood like RTS did, largely because for me the appeal of these games was the multiplayer aspect. Is it a sign of the times that people can't handle anything in this genre anymore? Or if they do it's just a reskinned version of something we played in the late 90s early 2000s? Seems like most everything these days is button mashing, auto saving, or story games.

Curious... if you are going N/A have you thought.. As Joe mentioned earlier about putting a small shot on it? You can pick up some simple weekend install kits on the cheap and now that the heads/breathing is handled should give a nice pick up if you occasionally "need" it

Played all of these games to death, and still enjoy them. Unfortunately the Strategy category of games is basically dead these days. There hasn't been a truly good one come out in YEARS. It IS fun loading up a game that part of the loading video is a Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading splash I STILL have and play Empire Earth 2 as a LAN game every couple weeks with a friend of mine, they sure don't make 'em like they used to!

I'm suddenly picturing a group of guys huddled around popped open trunks handing money back and forth while walking away happy clutching their exciting purchase.

And this is how it begins.. all I want is just a LITTLE more fun and power.

Thanks Joe I appreciate the feedback, it's definitely a process. We have done short videos and things for customers and their projects but nothing I ever published online so this is a bit of a learning experience. Trying to keep things flowing and not bogged down, but also not dropping this into a "How To" video was an odd mix to find. Grant on the Windows Movie Maker part, was it the titling screening that initially threw you off or is there something in the video quality that makes it hard to watch? I'm trying to stay away from overly using transitions and 1998 video editing techniques as much as possible. Before I start going down the Adobe Premier path just like to know what is sticking out for people. Thanks for the feedback so far guys, really appreciate it!

Definitely going to be upgrading the camera situation to get rid of the fisheye issue, probably my least favorite part of these cameras. On the timelapse where the actual work is being done would you prefer to have some voice over there, music, or just keep it as is? I'll also be upgrading audio wise to a better setup, portions of the video I can tell personally the levels go off based on where the camera is compared to my mouth. On a "Car Guy" side of things, does this hold any appeal versus the highly polished/professional stuff you see on YouTube? Just trying some new things marketing/customer interaction wise and this is just a part of the testing process at this point.

Really really love reports like this that go after a story even after months have gone by. As the majority of media have moved on to the newest shiny object Tyler is still dogging away on it, and my god these recordings and the information they got access to! Not sure how many of you care to watch/listen/read but it's extremely interesting. Really really begs the question what exactly WAS this thing.

Yeah well, size matters.

Jesus that feeling of thrust has to be almost unimaginable. Incredible how far racing has come in just the last 10 years.

As always, where else to come for advice on such at thing than CR? Looking at doing more "behind the scenes" of a real shop/process versus the highly polished and scripted stuff you typically see on TV/Channels. We'll likely have 3-4 different "builds" going at a time, try to post a longer 10-20 minute video about once per week. Something interesting to the car community as a whole? Feedback always welcome

Does the burnt PVC leave much residual trace on the ground? AKA can this be done in a public space or do you have to find somewhere built for it or with permission?

Personally I hate the fact Joe is gone especially with the circumstances where they HAD to go. Service wise, seemed like they could never get on top of handling us on Saturdays. You were ALWAYS in line for 15-20 minutes to get a coffee if it was between 9-10am, work flow there just never really seemed to work. Every one weekend I attended though there I was slogging it out in line trying to support the local business. Starbucks is one of my top 5 most hated companies, the only reason I make the short walk down is if I REALLY need something to drink and because I can show some business/support to Barnes and Nobles. Viva la Book Store! Venue wise though, I think don't mess with a good thing leave it where it is. While not central to a lot of people and mildly annoying to get in/out of it's still a great spot with established attendance over the years. The Dayton thing I think is tough, most people can't dedicate half their day to getting up getting detailed and doing a 3 hour round trip to their show and back not including the actual oogling we all are going there to do. Every now and then I remember people like Doc posting about making the drive out there, but not sure how well received it would be to see us rolling out that way en-mass. Also, how's the blood between us and "The Other Group" currently?

In a purely hypothetical question, will their be machining equipment in this garage? Or are we keeping this as a parts installation / fitment / send it kind of thing?

Not to detract with this Poo Fight Part 2 but... I'm a well off, educated white male, successful in multiples businesses in multiple industries... and I live in this same Morse Rd/Karl Rd/161/Cleveland section we are repeatedly bringing up. Let me clarify, I moved here 4 years ago so I did not grow up in this area I PURPOSELY moved here. 1) I'm the only white guy within 2 blocks that isn't of an advanced age (old guy has lived there since the 70s) 2) My neighbors across the street from me are Hispanic, have back yard parties every damn weekend with their driveway full of family members/friends. (Often with chrome rims and trim) 3) The house behind me is burnt and uninhabited. Has been for more than 2 years. 4) All of the people living around me are black/african-american/african. During the winter months we shovel each others driveways and sidewalks. We have helped each other with raking leaves when they decide to migrate with the wind. Damn wind. During the warm months we have several people who drive MOPAR and other big body American V8s, several of us talk on a weekly basis before/after Cars and Coffee. When working on my 71 Pontiac in the garage/driveway I ALWAYS get at least one or two people who are walking down the sidewalks to stop and chat. As a frequent Uber'rrr? one of my most common drivers from the area is a man in his like 50s, immigrant from Iraq who is a mechanical engineer. We have discussed all sorts of things along our travels, from life where he is from to how his life is going now, to cars. The first time he dropped me off at the shop I invited him inside to show him what we do, he was absolutely fascinated. He now has my cell phone number and semi frequently we go back and forth about all sorts of things from world history (which was my minor AND his) to automotive to food. Why do I live here? Because I can't stand living around exclusively white people.Man of whome often with very similar upbringings. When you surround yourself with more of the same and have more of the same conversations, watching more of the same news broadcasts, and doing more of the same activities you get... more of the same. When you say you have "seen" these areas, and I'm not just talking to Tim, what do you mean? Do you mean I drove through it with doors locked or saw it from the interstate, which I will almost guarantee is the majority case for all the Gary Indiana folks. Or did you stop and get gas? Maybe check out a local eatery that you didn't find on Spoon, or Yelp, or wherever? How to you feel you have a taste for a community and its experience when you haven't ever been even remotely involved in their lives? Please, come visit. We can get some soul food at Lawshea's or West African food at West African Restaurant, maybe some Cajun/Caribbean food at Red Pepper Caribbean Bar and Grill and talk with the owners who are almost always there.

Just want to mention, as someone who similarly doesn't appreciate God involved in my politics of man... what he was pointing to is the engraving on the wall above his head. https://goo.gl/images/n8ypBI
