  1. Signal tester? Make sure everything is passing/stopping signal as its supposed to?
  2. Charlie is a wizard with body work, the cars that roll in and out of there are beyond the average persons comprehension. Not sure how you could convince him to work on a Camry though Most of our body work lately has been through Taylor Auto Body in Plain City, Allen and Nick are excellent guys and extremely nice to work with.
  3. The Dragster is definitely fun, not sure that fits quite the image we are going for with the shoot though.. but we HAVE kicked around the idea of doing a full on "Racecars" shoot but that would be less of a pinup style.. That Nova however... now THAT would work. Is it available March 11?
  4. Well it's that time again, with how busy we've been through 2016 we haven't been able to host one of these in quite a while. Unfortunately one of our columbus area photographers just lost his wife in a car crash over the weekend, 25 years old, and leaving behind their 2 year old son. So, we are going to bring this event back and all proceeds will go to the family. Looking for cars/owners that will be available that weekend and open to having their cars/trucks/jeeps used for Pin-Up style photos. Models will need to be able to lean against or sit in the vehicle. Edits will be made available for each owner for their personal use as well. 60s - early 70s era muscle cars, trucks, and unique rides are what we are looking for. We have 3 spots we are going to open up to "non customers" so if anyone has a ride they want considered for this post about it and we'll go from there.
  5. Clay I would definitely get one going for CC&C, should be an easy way to post/share/discuss rides that show up and for people to find out who drives what. A lot of people will see a car or get a photo of it but not know who the owner is. Once the Tribe is built, should just be a day or two to get enough people on it to take it public.
  6. I can neither confirm nor deny that someone I know in a 2015 TDI Passat once he was informed that the buyback was a set number not based on "condition" spent quite a weekend thrashing the life out of said ride. Now, said person is also a morally questionable asshole so... there's that
  7. Shoot me some info on the car/application and I can give you an idea of what we would be looking at. Rich knows those cars and that trans well so I'm sure it's something we could help you with.
  8. You'll fit in just fine around here, welcome aboard!
  9. There definitely seems to be a resurgence in the racing scene hopefully with so nice of a facility nearby he'll pull some solid crowds. It's certainly a completely different world from when I was racing there in high school in the mid 90s!
  10. You have my attention, please continue?
  11. +100 for Eddie Merlot's that has been my go to stop for years whenever I'm in the mood for a tasty reasonably classy dinner. Mood is upper scale but comfortable, the food is ALWAYS excellent, pricing isn't bad at all. Hyde Park and Mitchell's always seem far too into themselves and superior for my tastes.
  12. Now that we are seeing 20 degree days it's almost time to break out a coat, not sure if the hoodies are going to get me through this winter. It's good to be of "hearty stock" Personally I would love to see some good solid snows this winter, didn't even unpack my snowboarding gear last year but it's ready to go now! Bring on the fun white stuff!
  13. This is absolutely something to keep in mind. When you add racing/performance/go fast word you are going to be pigeon holed as a "Speed Shop" so your general repair business will be occasional work you luck into or people who already know you. What kind of shop do YOU want? Race cars or general repair? If you look at Lucore we are named after the business owner who's been a master wrench for over 20 years, we are a general repair facility with a small business sort of feel to us. NOW, with that said we also do custom and speed shop type work but that isn't our daily bread and butter work. It doesn't take a very good memory to search back and find more than a few examples of speed shops that have gone out of business, even more than the norm in automotive. Spending 2 weeks on a build that nets you less than you would have made in 2 standard days wrenching is never good business sense. Stick with something simple and honest, build the reputation up one customer at a time, and make yourself available for conversations. Do some fun stuff here and there to keep the enjoyment of wrenching and for PR. We rarely get comments about how nice the brakes are on a civic we did, but the hotrods we service constantly certainly get a lot of looks! Just my .02
  14. Unsure what I'll be putting on a drag strip this year but... likely in
  15. Could be, right now I'm having to edit and re-edit my posts in order to squeeze them into the 500 character limit. I DO see some of the bigger tribes that have full length articles so we'll see once we go live. Almost there!!
  16. It's going to definitely be a challenge to see how much unique/original content gets posted not just rehashing the same articles/posts. The character limit on our side has been the biggest challenge, there's only so much depth you can get in 500 characters.
  17. There's a very simple setting that allows you to toggle your Tribe between free to post and Admin only, clearly this is still a bit of a learning curve. One thing I'm trying to figure out personally is the character limit of 500. For those of us who can get a bit descriptive or "long winded" some my might say, this is definitely a detractor. On the bigger builds like with the Z I'll be posting up tomorrow trying to get anything short of a parts list will take up that limit...or I do a short write-up with no parts list
  18. Don't need no photographer with thousands of dollars in lenses and lighting, I got my iPhone!
  19. Seems like Facebook is a major sticking point for a lot of people so far, personally I'm not a fan of it either. With the inability to change your name to something Avatar like on forums it is definitely rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. Membership and content continues to grow though..
  20. Did you get this done? If not I know a photographer or two ..
  21. Joined up Trish, gotta get to that all important 10 people in order to actually be able to be searched/found. Always interesting when a new digital medium is out there who knows where it will fly or fail.
  22. You have to get the founder +9 others in order to finalize the tribe and make it public, once it's public it can be found by the world at large. So right now trying to get lazy people to register and join yet ANOTHER site seems to be the challenge
  23. Well the kind of nice thing about is so far is you actually have to have some following before you can even have a voice on the site, a 1 man band can't have their own tribe and flood your feed. So that has certainly been a breath of fresh air, the people you are getting postings from have at like 9 other people who think they might have a semi-valuable thing to say.
