you need to learn to weld plate steel before you try sheetmetal, its pretty hard to do with out burning through.

oh and your supposed to put your weld with the gun. i drag mine, both work well if done right.

lincon used to have a thing on there web site to help out. but yes just practice and take your time. slow and side to side in a C pattern works pretty well.
