**** Spoiler**** wow really? the economist on the show (he name escapes me, the one dating Don), plays a strong, independent, well educated woman who literally takes shit from no one. Love her character.

An article in the dispatch a while back had OSU comment that since Franklin County Sheriff's office didn't have one to provide for OSU fb games they procured their own. Kind of surprised the Sheriff's office wouldn't have one honestly. I read that a while back though. Now that I think about it, they couldve been CPD they were referring to? I think three law enforcement agencies are responsible for game day security, CPD, OHP, and the Sheriff's office.

1. Officer wilson did not have a taser at his disposal, so i'm not sure where you are getting your information from? 2. Brown assaulted Wilson while he was in his car. Wilson's pepper spray is on the left side of his duty belt (side closest to brown) and couldn't be deployed without also affecting himself. Wilson's ASP (aka, "nightstick") was located on the back of his duty belt, pinned between himself and the seat while Brown was hitting him. The only course of defense was to use his firearm. 3. Brown assaulted Wison in his police SUV (backed by physical evidence), this is a deadly threat. Again I'm not sure how you can say he isn't or shouldn't continue to be a threat? 4. An officer can not simply "escape in his car". He has a legal duty to stop a threat to the public. If he were to leave and brown assaulted or killed someone else before being taken into custody then the police dept would be held liable. Brown's actions led to his death, that's it. He assaulted a police officer, attempted to take his gun, ran away, then charged at the officer again.

I'm not sure where you read that the prosecutor allowed the defendant to present his defense? Grand Jury's do not usually hear testimony from an individual who may be charged but in this case Officer Wilson gave a 4 hour testimony. If I'm not mistaken he was not required to do so. Also, the explanation Officer Wilson gave for shooting Wilson was because he posed a deadly threat to himself. Assault, attempting to take an officers firearm (in Wilsons testimony and backed by physical evidence), in addition to not obeying an officers commands and "charging" the officer (also backed by physical evidence) is what led Officer Wilson to shoot Michael Brown. I have found that this is a pretty good article breaking down known facts and its from a reputable source: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/08/13/us/ferguson-missouri-town-under-siege-after-police-shooting.html?_r=0

The term used is "shoot to stop". Its more "PC".

So I have only sporadically read this thread (9 pages and counting?!) but i did want to share my point of view... for whatever that's worth. 1. The "unarmed" narrative needs to stop. Just because someone is unarmed does not mean they aren't a deadly threat. In the state of Missouri assaulting an officer is technically a deadly threat, not to mention the "reaching for the waste band" action and and grabbing of the officers handgun (testimony that was backed up with physical evidence). 2. Why are so many people focused on the actions of Officer Wilson's that contributed to ending Mr Brown's death. Why not focus on Brown's actions that led up to his own death? There's a clear cause and effect here. 3. I actually think its somewhat entertaining to debate this topic with other people who think Darren Wilson should be prosecuted. It's simple to read all of the evidence and see that this was a justifiable use of deadly force. I am the last one to give a police officer the benefit of the doubt, but in this case justice actually won.

Absolutely agree. A high speed train going from Cinci - Cols - Dayton - Cleve would be great. Add in chicago and indy would be awesome as well. I would DEFINITELY use it to see family in cinci. As for subway/rail in the city of cbus I dont see it happening. Cost of Infrastructure alone would huge. MAYBE a light rail around 270 but even then that doesnt help people going downtown for work?

Really? i would've thought since there's no impact in biking like there is with running/jogging it would be a bit easier. I suppose nothing like swimming though. Anyway, I wouldn't wear jeans more of workout clothes of some sort. Those tights seem like they would be a bit 'unflattering' on a chubby guy like me but in the end i don't care whatever is most comfortable during and after is what i'll choose.

Thanks for the great info brandon. I'm trying to get into hobbies that i can sustain for a long time and that are actually healthy for me (you mean drinking beer isn't healthy?). Turning 31 this week and the last 10 years of hockey have taken its toll, i hope to be one of those guys on the ice at 50-60 years old but im already feeling it in my knees. Hoping biking can be a bit easier on the joints in my old age. That being said, i looked at some bikes over the weekend. Rode a Cannondale Quick 6 ( http://www.cannondale.com/nam_en/2015/bikes/fitness-urban/fitness/quick-sl-quick/quick-6 ) which was nice, a bit overpriced at the store i was at, it seemed more like a compromise. It wasn't really a dedicated road bike or a dedicated mountain bike but the saleman explained i could switch out the tires etc... but that was the only bike they had in my price range so I'm going to do some more shopping this week. I did like the fact that I could just put around the city with it, afterall im not looking for a dedicated super-fast race bike I want to enjoy just riding someplace instead of driving also. As for the sweet lycra and tights, yeah not sure about that but we'll see. Also when asking about the size of the bike i was riding the salesmen just said it was a "large" I thought they were sized in cm? Or is the general sizing of S M L just for entry level bikes?
-
So since i made this bike I've decided to up my price to $500 (which was always doable i just wanted a "feel for the market"). I would prefer to go used, entry level roadbike. The only reason I choose road is because i can see myself using it far more often a dedicated mountain bike. And while cyclo-cross is interesting that may be something I get into in the future. I'm maybe a mile or two away from olentangy trail that runs through worthington and continues south. Comfort level is key for me. From playing hockey I noticed things like using a shorter stick or skates that aren't as high/tall as I'm use to can cause lower back pain and discomfort. As cool as super fast road bikes are they don't look comfortable at all. So that's a priority, I want something that I will enjoy getting on and riding for miles and not dread the discomfort. i'm on vacation next week so I'll probably shop around a bit and annoy some salesmen with endless question's before making my purchase. Thanks for all the advice fella's, if there's anything else by all means post it up. I would rather make an informed decision than just go out and buy whats pretty and shiny.

Yeah we saw a few of those kenyan's, they were fucking sick. they just get into a pace and stay there the entire time. Longest I've ever run was 5 miles but I'm motivated to do a half next year. looked at a training schedule and it doesn't seem too intense, and i'm not a runner by any means.
-
When I was truck shopping i routinely saw trucks with 100k miles for $20k (usually fully loaded denali's etc.)
-
HA you finished right before my buddy zach, his time was 3:38:48, average pace of 8:22/mi. I could do an 8:22 miles.... for one mile, crazy how you guys kept that pace for 26. Some friends and I went down to grandview to cheer him on around mile 24, hes been training at this thing for months so least would could do was wake up early and show support. "what did you do with your sunday" "well I watched other people excercise" "and then?" "and then i got chipotle"

I know nothing about your field but it sounds like your motivation is either family or career. Tough spot. Personally I would choose whichever job is best for you to progress in your career. JP was right, if you're going to move, move up. A lateral move would be a waste of time. Something else to keep in mind is how old are your parents? Are they 'elderly', healthy, can they care for themselves? I only ask this b/c my mother's health in recent years has declined and i couldn't imagine being on the other side of the country when she is in the hospital or something happens. I have a close friend who recently went 100% remote and he loves it, hes either in chicago for a concert, or hiking some national forest in idaho. So it obviously complements his lifestyle.

So I've been contemplating buying a road bike (maybe a mountain bike) for the past few months. I have NO IDEA what to look for. Any suggestions? I would like something entry level / intermediate, but not off a walmart sales rack. I'm 80/20 road bike vs mountain bike, I think i would get more use out of a road bike. Would be used primarily for exercise and riding paths in the city. Are there better deals and sales in the colder months b/c its not peak season for riding? If so should i wait a few weeks to make a purchase? Any suggestions on where to shop? I'd prefer a local store rather than a large chain but whoever gives me the best deal is where I'll go. Assuming there are different sizes of frames, do people get fitted or just whatever feels comfortable? (im 6ft and don't want to be on my tippy toes or hunched over either) So far I have $350 saved in cash i could throw at it, but I could spend a bit more if i had to. A good friend just picked up a nice bike for $500 brand new, I would be willing to buy used if it was in good condition and a reputable brand. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ive actually always liked those body styles. A little ugly, a little different. Wonder what their drivetrain is like, can it handle anymore boost, etc...

1. have you looked into dogs? I'm assuming you dont have any now and there might be a reason for that but it might be an alternative. 2. It seem's you're having a lot of false alerts, have you thought about changing the angle of the camera? Maybe to something that didn't show the street at all? of course this might be a bit hard to keep it hidden and you wouldn't be able to capture any vehicle's or license plates but your photos so far dont show any of that anyway?

haha hilarious, two of my good friends are actually graduated eagle scouts. They're constantly telling me how to tie knots and shit, embarrassing. Always wanted to be a scout, guess i'll have to go through it with my kid .... whenever that happens and/or hell freezes over.

Back on topic, theoretically i would say the blind man has the best chance of success.

Completely agree and a much more plausible scenario. Sever weather, down infrastructure (roads, electricity, gas, etc...) and flu / virus pandemic and much more likely to occur than zombies however the way you react could be very similar. You don't need to run out and spend six figures on a bunker and supplies, just be able to be self-sustaining for a month and you will be much more prepared than any of your neighbors. Event the federal government says each household should have at least 3-4 days of food/water rations on hand at any given moment. Get home bags are smart in any situation. And the more bland and boring looking the better. The idea is to get home to safety not survive in the wilderness for weeks.

Cop gets shut down by a guy who knows his rights.

Exactly. "If you're looking for a fugitive i can confidently say he's not in my home and unless you have a warrant you're not allowed to enter my home." That's all that needed to be said. Yeah the citizen was being a prick and yeah he sounded like a fucking idiot but there's no need to argue and escalate tensions. -
Absolutely agree. Its simple, it work's and its seamless for what i use it for. Other than that i use imessage group text everyday so that's probably the only thing that would keep me on this bandwagon. That being said if someone can make something that does everything i need it to do and more AND actually make my life easier somehow... I would consider switching.

Last I heard Stephanie Hayden (sorry i dont know her married name) has decided to go on Dr Phil and talk about her experience.... let that sink in a bit. That's honestly just the worst move to make. Again if these allegations are true I'm sure that family is going through enough why go on some shitty daytime talk show?!
-
Totally agree, after season one it was way too much staged drama. Everything was so obviously fake and they took the focus off of the cool firearms they were doing.

Both my fantasy teams won so I'm happy. Thankyou Julious Thomas for saving the day.
