    WTB: 15" tires

I have 1, yes 1, Kumho 205/50-15 you can have for $20. About 6/32 tread.
  2. Nice car. My son bought a 94 Z28 A4 hardtop with 94k that I thought we got a deal on at $4800. Yours appears way nicer for only $500 more.
  3. The Northend Wrench on Indianola, Dave's the owner, Pat's the lead tech.
  4. Woody's Salvage on McKinley typically has at least a dozen first gen Saturns, all models. It is a cheap u-pull-it type place. I get all the Saturn parts for my daughter's car there.
  5. THESE ITEMS ARE PICKED UP AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE! I inherited these parts from a Freecycler who had them sitting in his barn. I thought I could use them but now they are just taking up space. The year on these parts are unknown, but I was told they were from a mid-70's CB750K. The front fork is in rough shape. It includes the triple tree and the brake caliper. The fork seals are gone. I would suspect this is only good for parts. The rear wheel assembly includes the sprocket and an old tire. There are no broken spokes, and the wheel does not appear bent. This piece MAY be able to be cleaned up and be a nice piece. I need to get rid of this ASAP. Pickup only in central Ohio. Rich
  6. Actually, somebody did come and get it. The post was so old I forgot about it. Lock'r up! But, I have some more stuff I am about to post for free....
  7. I've also had my 75 CB750 out to them to address clutch issues and do the carbs. It's tough to find folks that will work on the old bikes. Good guys, easy to deal with, honest pricing. Rich
  8. I've only raced sporty car stuff - no straightline or oval. Countless (almost) autocross sites from east coast to Florida to Kansas. Around Columbus: - Powell Speedway (RIP) - Bolton Field - OSU Stadium parking lot - OSU West Campus lots - Cooper Stadium - OSU Ackerman lot - National Trails Probably a few others... Race tracks (all road courses): - Mid Ohio - Nelsons Ledges - Indianapolis Raceway Park - Grattan - Road Atlanta - Watkins Glen - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Turns 2, 3, and 4 of the oval, and the infield) - Blackhawk Farms - Heartland Park Topeka - Gateway International (the old one, now RIP) Karts - Circleville Raceway Park As far as spectating: - Bristol - Michigan International Speedway - Daytona International Speedway - Kentucky Speedway - Indianapolis Motor Speedway - Indianapolis Raceway Park - Oval - Indianapolis Raceway Park - Drag Strip - Columbus Motor Speedway - Lanier Raceway (just across the street from Road Atlanta) - KC Raceway - Bunker Hill Raceway
  9. Two sets of used Falken Azenis RT615's, each set has about 5/32 to 6/32 tread depth. These were my autocross tires. One set was purchased new and shaved for the Solo II Nats last year and has five events on them. $125. Note: I measured the tread again on these and two tires have 5/32 and two have 4/32. Still plenty for a season of autocrossing or some track days. The second set was purchased at the beginning of last year and has about 8 events on them. $100. SOLD!!! These are very good tires for STS, track days, or street driving. Pickup in central Ohio only. Rich
  10. Refer to the following for the install. It is a LOT easier than what the manuals say to do! http://shbox.com/1/how_tos.html Click on the first link at the top.
  11. Not necessarily. Go look at it and see how good it is. I am betting it is not as nice as the owner says it is. There will be likely a lot of "little things" that need attention that individually aren't much but collectively get pretty expensive - broken switch here, a tear in the leather, a gauge that doesn't work, tires that need replaced, etc. BMW parts are expensive. My experience with high end cars that are going for low prices is that they generally have not been well maintained. People buy them used because they are "image" cars for $10k to $15k, and then can't afford to maintain them proprerly, and in a few years they are not worth having. There are exceptions of course. Go to a BMW forum and get educated on what to look for. If you think it looks good, take it to a mechanic and have him go over it before buying. If the car is really nice, it probably would have sold by now. Good luck.
  12. Nice looking bike. Love the color combo. Subtle.
  13. If you are a "broke ass kid", get the Honda. Cheaper to own and to maintain. If you are passionate about cars, get the BMW and live with the inevitable repairs and expense. Make sure you have a backup ride to work. Many of the older BMW convertibles tended to leak as their owners did not do a good job of maintaining the tops, and keeping things in adjustment. It may be atypical, but I have seen three that have leaked over the years causing other issues with rust, electrical, etc.
  14. These are such cool cars. With this gen, they finally got the handling to a decent spot. Good luck with the sale!
  15. SOLD This is a Reese weight distributing hitch kit with 10,000 pound capacity hitch, 2-5/16 ball, and 800 lb spring bars. It is hardly used and complete with the exception of the lift brackets (the part that goes on the trailer that the chains from the spring bars hook on to). I could not find a picture of the exact Reese's pieces (no pun) but it is pretty much identical to the following Draw-Tite setup: http://www.reese-hitches.com/WD/dt_trunnion_bar.html The price of this setup new is about $275 to $300. You can buy the lift brackets for $40 to $60 at Rock's Trailers in Grove City, and probably Anderson's General Store in Dublin. I am asking $100. PM me on this board or email. Rich

    Free Stuff

Mark, I am in Hilliard also and can pick up Monday evening. My son's car is a 94 Z28 so the items related to that are what I would be interested in. Thanks. Rich

    Getting Into Bikes

As a beginning motorcyclist, I found the following useful. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/school.htm I also took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Beginning Riders course through MotorcycleOhio. The older I get, the more I realize the value of formal instruction. Both may seem somewhat elementary, but your riding enjoyment and experiences depend a lot on knowledge and the development of good habits. I bought a 1975 Honda CB750K standard for my first bike. Fast enough for now, simple enough to learn how to maintain and repair. With repairs, I have about $1,750 in it and have been offered $2,700 so far.
  19. I wasn't there, but I assume you were running Proxes RA-1's. These are no comparison to a Hoosier or Kumho. They are decent road race tires, but don't work for autocross all that well because they don't heat up fast enough. We ran them on our Neon when Bud was just starting as I didn't want to spend money on soft tires just to have him flat spot them. They are about 1.5 sec slower than good tires on a typical OVR course.
  20. There is some gear advertised on http://www.craigslist.org
  21. Let me know if you are going to autocross it. I am fairly familar with set up. Also, brush up on your diagnostic skills. These old ones can be prone to electrical gremlins. Bud's Dad.
  22. Premium unleaded. I have never tried less than 92 in it.
  23. Bump - I have located the ideal vehicle I need! PLEASE, somebody, contact me! If it sounds desperate, it is not quite there but close!
