How does that motor just fit in fucking everything?

It’s funny, just test drove a 03 Avalanche Black diamond-and they have to add a bunch of shit plastic and a mile high intake manifold to the motor to not make it look small in the engine bay.

Like I said-the market for these seems to be for the cleaner examples IMO.

Looking at buying a 04 wrx wagon to resell quick

 

Cliffs:

 

- 180k miles

- Blown motor

- Body has some rust on rear quarter by the wheel, plus a few dings and dents

- Car is $1,000

- Another motor is $800 with a 90 day warranty

- Labor to install new motor $400

- Misc gaskets, fluids and such. High estimate of $400

 

So a total of $2,600 invested. Is this shit bucket worth a decent return and do these heaps actually ever sell? Found a couple bucks I forgot about in my house and instead of tossing into the bank or safe looking at doing this for shits and giggles.

I just passed on a running 04 Wagon in similar condition for 3k. It seems they only sell quick if clean.

Yep, was the old clutch giving me fits. Has an RPS triple in it now that'll alleviate all problems. Between that, nitrous, and no-lifting, I don't see why I'll have a problem.

Did you get the trans soreted out? You can make all the power in the world but it wont amount to a hill of beans if it falls out of boost between shifts. 4708 (is that the 80 or 88mm?) is a lot of turbo to whick up unelss your on a 3.4.

All parts look great though

What 5 speeds bolt up to an LS based engine? Are any of the truck 5 bangers worth a crap? Do any of the FB/Camaro 5 speeds bolt up?

We let it cool down alittle and made another pull in 3rd gear and it ended up making 39 whp and I think 15 wtq.

 

Oh and it revs to 14k rpm.

85 LX 5.0 coupe roller for sale. Car has 87 to 93 front V8 spindles and larger V8 brakes(85's used the 4 cyl sized brakes factory), has an 8.8 with a 3.73 gear in it as well (again, the 85's used a 7.5" rear axle), engine compartment has been painted with rustoleum hammered metal black, and so has the trunk, has 5 spd pedals in it. No carpet, no headliner(may get one for it), no back seat. Has subframe connectors in it, driveshaft loop, red electric fuel pump and filter, larger fuel line, holley fuel pressure regulator, power brake booster and master cylinder need to be bolted in. Gauges and cluster bezel are laying on floorboard. All wiring and such is still in the car. Battery is mounted in trunk in a nice box, cables run, etc. Wiring has been moved inside fenderwells. Has some minor rust in floor pans, body has some dents and dinks, all minor. Manual windows, manual locks, manual mirrors, had factory a/c, rear defog, and cruise when it was new. They only made 144 of this model in canyon red. It would make a great restoration project or a race car, or street car project.

500 bucks firm takes it! No more pics, no more tire kicking, count out 5 100 buck bills and take it home with a clear title notorized over to you. Wheels are later model pony wheels with drag radials on the back and great tires on the front.

Yeah, the car is going faster than expected. May try to go back to the track and sneak a bottom 10 out of it. Its all about that 60 foot. If I can get it to 1.6 0 60 it should go 10.1-10.3

The hand full of times I've met and talked with him, I never had an issue with DB. I haven't spent any money in his shop or really dealt with him long term though. Seems like an okay guy to me but he is to the point and not a lot of BS (which I prefer)..

 

Hate to say it but so much drama in the car forum world and social media these days, probably gets tired of it all. You've got to get with the technology age or change careers. I know I wouldn't want to run half of these shops based on responding to the idiots on FB alone. Some people have no clue about anything, I mean really..lol.

I agree 100%. He gets very bent out of shape and tends to argue online on FB and in forums with people that have no clue about, well anything, and it tends to fan the flame.
