  1. Any mods? If not first mod should be remove the mufflers. Sounds really good without being over bearing (note keep the resonator).

Thanks! Really happy with the car, and I am 100% cinfident I could not buy more car for the money. It ended up 1500 less than the cheapest one I found in the county, and was on the way to OBX. :)

Stock as aids besides tint (35/20). I have been looking around the forums-and it will get an intake, tune, and a muffler delete (thanks for the support-I was questioning delete vs. gut) and stay like that for a while. Maybe a turbo in the future... :dumb:

Do you still have yours? May also lower and space the rear a few mm's.

  2. As luck would have it right before a vacation, I all but had a CTS-V fall in my lap for dirt cheap-so I had to jump on it!

05 Redline CTS-V with every option (AKA, the sunroof LOL). Pics when I get back from Vaca unless someone wants to link them from facebook. Put about 300 miles on it thus far and so far I LOVE it!

  3. The 09s+ are significantly heavier (3800 versus 4200 or thereabouts)...that is the only drawback. They are better cars in every way. I will have one some day.

Sell me your and buy an 09 up? :dumb:

I have no idea why. I'd love to take the recaros with me into every other car I drive. I have the dark wood accents--they look great. For me, the instrument cluster is perfect. Navigation decent. There's an l.e.d. Light just below the wood accent on the glove compartment that looks great at night. The moon roof goes all the way to the backseat.

Out of all the cars in my sig this one has the best stereo, but only a single CD player (who plays CDs anymore, anyways?). The only thing I need is a DVD player in each headrest and a whipping stick to whip my kids' legs when they kick the backs of the seats.

The power train speaks for itself. Mine is stock accept for a catback. Buzz on here had an '09 that was bottom 11's with a pulley and mild h/c package I believe. The brakes are great in this car too.

I agree. I have a buddy up here with an 11 with an intake, pulley, tune- made 6XX whp and went 11.6 on Goodyears. A lot of car foe the money! Is there any reason to think the 09+ will loose resale value quickly? If cost of ownership is the same over 3-4 years, I may as well get an 09+

  4. G35 only b/c I own one. I actually just bought the thing a couple months ago and its my nice weather daily driver, I dont plan on modding it.

I wanted a CTS-V, but like you I was paying cash and a G35 thats nice can be had for 12-13K as opposed to the caddie at 17-18K for a decent one. And I feel the G35's looks will last a long time compared to the CTS-V.

Two knocks I have on the G35 is that the interior is a little on the cheap side, and the mpg's arent bad but not great either. Drivetrain is solid but like i stated previously its only a daily.

Do you have kids? Again, if I was just looking fro a summer toy, and thats it, I'd still be Viper shopping.

You can fit two kids comfortably in the back of a gto, which can be had with lower miles in that price range---if two door cars can be considered--which they shouldn't be. As stated above, tossing kids/babies/ etc into the backseat of a coupe will get downright intolerable, and it will do so quickly.

I traded in my low mileage gto for my ctsv and haven't looked back. G37 exhaust sounds pretty decent. Other than that, they sell that car with a feminine napkin in the glove box, if I recall--which should be all the info you need to cross it off the list

The GTO really does not do it for me looks wise-may as well get a GTP! But yes, I am thinking a fast, fun 4 door is where I need to be.

  5. If you need a baby hauler you should stop by the toy barn:

You'd have to give me a Merc. Matinence fucking nightmare.

Why not just LS swap the G? Best of both.

Not looking for a progect. Comfy, fun DD

I'm guessing it's your first baby if you think getting a kid/car seat in and out of the back of a coupe will be easy. I did it a few times with a rear facing seat in my Terminator, pain in the dick. Face it daddy, four doors is where it's at!

Wife will hanlde baby hauling Duties most of the time, but this is a heavy consideration

  6. I have both an '8 350Z (G35 lighter, more sport-oriented, better-looking cousin) and a '5 CTS-V and I have no idea what to say.

PICK! And if I was OK with a 2 seater-I would go with the G37-Really, I'd just buy a Viper.

Every G35 I run into has a bunch of nothing done to it and the owner thinks he has a sports car. I have yet to met one that was what I would call a car guy. More of a shine it up and do bolt ons and wheels. Yup, the G35's look good.

CTS-V, c'mon man, hands down. I wouldn't mind that it looks like a big bodied old person car. It's not a bad looking car in my eyes. Options galore, and reliable.

I agree, and that’s what scares me! I see a few very Cheap turbo’d G’s. One in Boston and I have the guy down to under market-low miles, clean, Carribian Blue (gay???) But, he does not sound like a car guy on the phone. All work was doen at a shop though. 99% of the guys on the forum are non modders for sure.

Love the looks of the G35 coupe but not the sedan. Calling a G35 coupe a 4 seater is a stretch. You can get into a nice CTSv for 16-18k. There is one on LS1tech right now with heads/cam and some nice wheels for 17k. Unfortunately it is in Colorado. I absolutely love mine. I will find the link. Note the CTSv rear end is weak and will break if you drag race it. There are bullet proof options but they are very pricey... Being a fabricator though you can probably do it yourself.

Then your not looking. I missed on one at a dealership in Baltimore-ASKING 11,800. 2004k, 118 miles super clean car fax, and they offered 6 month buimpoer ot bumper warrenty. They are out there. One also went at a recent public action for 8k but I am unsure of its condition.

As for the G-it fits a baby seat in the back, so I am good. 

What is the MPG difference between the two? and is that a factor?

I actually think its about the same-LS motors get hella gas milege with

    cons on the CTSV,

    1) the rear end cant take much power for those years.

    2) its not a 2nd gen CTSV

    1) I just put a turbo the size of Texas back on the Colt-so I am not worried about drag racing the thing. Also-they are also weak ina wheel hop sitiuation-I am sure it will take 1 billion HP form a roll ;)

    2) If I am buying a used car for 30k, I’d rather buy 2 hourses and rent them out for $800 a month-each. I am always looking loing term, and hate the depreciation of newer cars.

  7. Needs-"Fun Daily". Moddabilty is a plus, but not necessarily required. Back seats are a must-4 doors a plus. Reliability is a premium. Price Range- 15k or lower-paying cash. Anything more and I will just buy more rentals!

    Class, Comfort, Reliability, Speed.

Pros of G35-LOVE the looks of the car, always have. Can be had well optioned for the 10-12k range.

Cons-Seem to not handle mods well-400whp is "pushing" the stock motor from what I have seen. A little pricy to maintain.

Pros of CTS-V LS6, DUH. 4 Door- Add turbo- make 600whop with the AC on. Cheap on parts

Cons-Nice once go for more 13-15-It looks nearly identical to every other CTS on the road- even Beat V6's that your Mom's cousin drives-takes away from any "wow factor to be had.

Goofy Bolt Pattern makes wheel options nonexistent.

  8. A few things that happened that most may not know.......mostly because it doesn't make Mr. Open Carry look so good.

This goof goes in this Speedway almost every night @ 3AM or so, after he gets off work.

Same goof "always" open carries a firearm in the store.

Same goof had a recording device on him and running, expecting a confrontation.

Same goof drove there, left his wallet and ID in his truck.

Same goof told the police he had no ID with him, technically in his truck?

Same goof had his car keys on him and verified that his vehicle was on the lot and gave permission to search it.

Same goof live in Troy, no where near this store.

    No one called the police.

Responding officer knew about this activity and expected to cross paths

We saw the end result, 2 assholes getting together, flexing their muscles and seeing who had the upper hand.

Bottom line, you may beat the charge, but you won't beat the ride. While that may be good for most, think about your fingerprints and what ever else on file. Add that to the ambiance of the book in at the jail, that should be enough reason to just co-operate.

This whole thing sounds like a guy going to a toughman contest, picking a fight with the baddest guy, getting his ass beat, and then getting a lawyer to sue everybody.

    This guy gets it

  9. He was charged with obstruction, and it was dropped, likely because they realized it would probably be tossed. The "problem" is the police cannot detain you without suspicion of a crime. You are under no legal obligation to identify yourself without that suspicion. Open-carry of a firearm is not a crime in Ohio if you obey the federal limitations, and private property laws. You cannot be charged with "Disorderly Conduct" without committing some kind of crime. Since carrying a firearm on your person in the open is generally not a crime, the officers citing of the ORC is incorrect. As such the officer has no authority to detain Mr. Call against his will, and proceeds to do just that.

I can only speculate, but if they had been posted, than he could have been, and given the situation, would have been charged. Same applies if he is asked to leave the property and he refuses. Since he was not charged for either, we can only assume that the scenarios would not apply.

A few things make seem like a waste of a thread-

    1) The link to a Super right wing "news" site, that proclaims "MAN ARRESTED" when he was never arrested at all.

2)When you look for more information, you can Google Ray Call, Raymond Call, Ray Call CCW, Ray Call Arrest.....the list goes on-and NOTHIGN comes up. Huh.

    3) Reasonable suspicion as a legal term has less of a standard of proof than probable cause, and permits the officer to detain someone and frisk them for weapons. This is the set, match, and win here. Since no more info is available-we can’t determine whether he was in a private establishment or not (from the story, I would infer he was) but if a guy with a gun is asked to identify himself for the purposes of confirming whether or not he has a CCW, and he chooses not to just to be some internet hero-douche, then I am 100% happy the cops gave him the business.

  10. Who's the tard- the guy that takes on a GTR build a bit over their head-or the rich tard that gets rapes by a shop, and goes back for more? I don’t know if I necessarily feel bad for this guy-there seem to be no place in my heart for rich guys with cool cars that are not “car people”, especially since it seems Forged did make attempts to rectify the issue.

Wiggs is the epitome of this type of douchey person.

  11. My opinion...C Class Benz is built with budget in mind and quality suffers ALOT to hit a price point. This was worse in the early years of the c class but it's still not much better.

Their E class and above models are still troublesome but better quality.

Go A4 or 3 series if you want a small, luxury / sports sedan for a daily duties.

My best friend has a C300...I told him not to buy it, that he'd hate it and within 2 months of buying the thing he was done with it. EVerything from a horribly creaky drivers seat, to fried wiring harness (multiple times) for the tail lights, etc. He is constantly having issues with the car. No car is without faults but I'd stay away from the small benz.

**edit**...the flip side of the used euro sedan argument is that they are an absolute BARGAIN if you snag out outside of warranty and can do your own mechanical work. You can really buy a TON of car for the money. Source your parts through places like RockAuto instead of the dealer and parts aren't that expensive and if you do your own labor they aren't bad to maintain at all. Just do this with an A4 or 3 series not the C.

    This guy is spot on.

Especially the BMW's unless its an M or a rare model-they depreciate SO hard you can get a killer deal on a3 or 4 year old car.
