  1. You're doing it wrong. Look at Sam and JP. Hell, I am 4g swapping my RX-7 and will be in it for way less than 5k.

    Correct.

For whatever reason an already swapped car fetches a premium, but its easy to make it cheap. More and more it seems people would rather pay than mod. I blame hipsters

Only time its not super cheap is if you use an AL block, real Ls1/2/3/9, and/or a T56. Even a 99 Camaro Ls1/T56 drop out still goes for $3500+ (where as a 5.3/T530 or 400 can be had for $6-800 complete) I just got lucky finding a pile-o' parts for dirt that included a real Ls1 and T56

  2. And then the way to do this is...

You send the seller the shipping cost

You give YOUR FFL the payment.

The seller sends the firearm to your FFL.

    You inspect the weapon.

Your FFL either releases payment to the seller or sends the firearm back if you reject it

This is STANDARD procedure and is the only way you should ever buy a firearm through correspondence.

Is there any service like this for other transactions-say car parts?

  3. Cool idea. Any more info on sizes/flow/performance? How often do they need to have the grease serviced in higher heat applications?

Man I though this was common knowledge?

Basically any BB turbo in their lineup can be oil-less (really, all they do is stuff their regular BB CHRA with grease) They are fully serviceable, but not sure of claimed longevity. I know a few people running them, none of which has locked up (yet)

Air Bearing turbos have been around even longer, but none I know specifically for Automotive suppliers.

    People that make them

    And fix them

  4. Nice ride, Im going to be starting a big single upgrade kit for these under hood mounted. Working with a friend of mine on it and when your ready to make this thing faster than your Camaro call me

Stop it! Don't make me buy one...

  5. Buddy of mine just picked up an 01 V8, auto, for 5k. Do they really depreciate that badly? Car is clan, needs an exhaust leak fixed and the drive-shaft mod done.

And his being a V8-is that a GTS? I actually like the SUV more than I expected too.

  6. My uncle makes 500k a year (and has for 20 years) as a partner in a law firm, invests wisely, and still doesn't have DWiggs money. Am I dumb?

No, but he would be if we was not set up at this point.

If he makes 500kx20 years and invested even as little as 10% wisely, he should have a net worth of well over 15 million. If he had a savage broker than advised him to go all-in in 2010, we would have over 100 million easy.

And still having a 500k income. I doubt D wiggs is seeing anything better than that from the trust.

Also as people have noted here-Wigg's dad was a trust fund baby himself. He on the other hand used that money to make more money.

His father and grandfather are probably turning over in their grave.

  7. $500 before any expenses, that's working for free. If you're retired and have to resort to working basically for free in order to do something, well you're doing things wrong.

Fuck that's LOSING money if compared to even a minimum wage job.

I can believe Ben moved to San fran to do this

  8. He does, he has 4 neons now trying to run in a few different classes. He did the front mount on the Saab. He has had the shop since he sold his half of Slowmotion to Corey.

Very cool- awesome guy and fun to race against :)

  9. Thread needs some revival...

Will dwiggs make it? Probably no. lol.

    hard to say.

If the trust has 40-50 Million, and if his dad was smart and only allowed him to see XXX of it at a time, he may have payment until he dies, But at this rate, he wont make anything of it and nothing will be left at the end.

  10. Guy was going to send it to junkyard. Had rusted brake lines. Shop it was at wanted 1,800 to do brake lines. Runs great. I put new brake lines and calipers on it, alternator because it was making some noise. Have a little over 1,000 into it. Even had new tires on it. 5.3 4 wd with 229k on it when I got it. Has just shy of 231k now. Towed with it a few times. Toes great. Radio sucks in it though. All the back lights are burnt out. Even the heated seats and rear ac and all that work.
