when I think of linux this comes to mind, because that's about how the software is that linux has.

I've tried every single one I could find over the last 8 years or so. ubuntu is the absolute best but still, the software you pick through all sucks. that's why linux will never ever replace windows or mac. I have 3 printers that don't work with ubuntu. they print but that's all they do. I can't use the scanner, the memory card reader, the fax, etc etc. I also cannot burn a cd/dvd. it wont import or connect to my video camera. I could go on an on. no company makes drivers for linux. using a linux is like using the old commador computers. you basically have to be a software enginner to make anything work. I'd like to install a good program or use the factory supplied drivers/software that comes with my peripherals, printers, etc etc. not some generic stuff that only allows you to use it's basic functions and does a 1/2 assed job at that. plus I don't feel like sifting through 100 drivers to find the one that might work. for one, the people that are making this stuff never name anything so you can tell what the hell it is.

the only thing linux is good for is browsing the internet. you cannot get 3rd party software for it. and all the software that is available is like shit from the 1980's. want to play a video, you have a video player. want to play a cd, oh it's a totally seperate program.. want to play a movie, that's also a seperate program want to listen to songs on your computer..again, seperate program and to find one that actually works..just install all of them until you get one that semi works. and forget about watching a DVD..it violates some kind of something in the USA. I never could get a DVD to play. Linux is a poor excuse for a operating system. it's downfall is it cannot have licensed software. therefore, you will never see software for it like you will find for windows or mac. and mac, well they are still behind in this race also. you will also never get drivers for hardware from the manufacture of the hardware. such as a printer. you can buy the best printer the store has. it wont work in linux for another 5 years. and it will only be basic functions.

microsoft update usually has the latest drivers for your hardware. as long as the sound card manufacture sent them to microsoft. but that doesn't always mean that driver will work right. I've had a update to my soundcard that fucked it all up. so I just went back to the original driver. you can also go in the device manager and click on your sound card and choose to update the driver. if windows can find a newer driver it will install it. thirdly, if you know the manufacture of your sound card(device manager will tell you) go to their site and see if they have one.

then all paint would chip off and crack on anything that is plastic and painted. I've seen tint on polycarbonate plastic things all the time. I'm going with you thought of this off the top of your head.

vista doesn't work well with older hardware. I think that was it's biggest downfall. I suspect windows 7 will be no different. so I expect to hear all the complainers with 10 year old computers trying to use windows 7 and bitching about it not working too great

if being able to see makes it safer.. I can see her point. I was told a long time ago by my father and grandfather...once you drive a truck you won't want a car. and man they were right. I don't think I'll ever buy a car again.

barnacle bill isn't all that good. you would shit if you seen my suit repair that cost me $340. was not worth it! plus he didn't do anything I asked. I left a note tapped to the suit so he'd see it. he totally ignored it. he sewed my liner to the inside of the suit. so now I can't remove it to wash. and I'm not the only person to have this problem with him.

^ exactly. I honestly think if you gave a million people a 10lb chunk of steel 400K of them will have some how broke it.

what I've come to realize is most people are just plain ol stupid. computers are always going to be too complicated for most of them. even if it did everything for them, they would still manage to not understand it and fuck it up. I usually don't buy a prebuilt computer. for one, they load it with a ton of useless junk. two, the os is often altered. you don't actually get windows7 as microsoft intended. it's tailored for HP. second the parts they use are often cheap china junk they got on discount. BUT, I bought a HP pavillion 3 years ago because it was actually full of name brand parts. hitachi sata hard drive ASUS motherboard Nvidia chipsets with a Nvidia graphics. light scribe sata dvd burner. I threw in 4 gigs of high speed Gskill memory and a Nvidia 8600GTS video card and it gets a 5.9 windows experience index. both cost less than $130 together from newegg.com my advise is to upgrade it to windows 7 before you do anything else. and next time buy a AMD processor. they just seem to work better than a intel for the most part in my experiences.

you don't sound tech savvy. I don't think my xp pro machine that is 8 years old ever locked up once. my vista machine that is now 3 years old hasn't gave me one lick of problem either. programs are different. some people assume it's windows fault when a program crashes. which is out of microsofts hands. this is where mac has the advantage. they make all of the programs too. so they can get them to work flawlessly.

I never had a problem with vista. I like it better than XP pro to be honest. but windows 7....that is by far the best OS I've ever used. that includes all flavors of linux and Macs. even the most snooty linux users are singing it's praise.

the funny thing is the people who decide they need all of this info doesn't keep those kinds of records for themselves either I bet.

I didn't have one at that time either. she just wasn't into conversation etc much. she was very quiet and never wanted to go anywhere etc. except a fair, she liked those. our time together grew more and more awkward for both of us. I just didn't know what to say anymore. it's like she was sleeping or something. It sucked. I really liked her for the first few months. but she grew increasingly quieter until she just gave up or something. I think she wanted to tell me to hit the road so I just kind of left her alone and she never called me anymore it was always me calling etc. so I just kind of left her alone and figured if she wants to call she'll call.

I've actually dated a black girl before. for about 3 months. she was just a little too boring for me. so we just became distant friends and eventually stopped communicating. but man was she sexy. I still recall the cute summer dress she wore on our first date. and that was 11 years ago.

I was being respectful to that guy. I just want that in return. I would have let him have a piece of my mind if I didn't think I would end up in a hospital:D being a businessman he should know better. I didn't say anything to this guy to set him off like that. he's a fucking ass hole. now if he was just calling me a fucking dick etc, that's fine but to sit there and say I think he's a stupid black man because he assumes I think he can't pull a spark plug out without fucking it up is just assanine. I don't think any less of another person because of one's actions or words. in fact, the other guys at the car lot we were asking them if they knew the guy and they (black guys also) said fuck that mother fucker I wouldn't let that jack ass do that either. so what would he have said to them?.. I think he's just pissed off at white people in general.
